How to remove black background on rounded corners? 

Hey everyone, I need help with a frustrating issue in Figma!I created a dropdown component using several smaller components (like checkmarks, multiple rows, icons, and different states). When I copy an instance of this component, I can customize it by changing icons, text, and other details.Everything looks fine when I switch between the collapsed (closed) and expanded states inside Figma. However, when I test the prototype, I run into a problem: The dropdown starts in the correct state (collapsed or expanded). But when I click to switch to the other state, the component resets to its default, unedited version. This happens both ways—if I start with the collapsed state, the expanded state resets, and vice versa. Does anyone know how to fix this? I’d really appreciate any help!Thanks in advance!

For some reason, the design system component instances cannot be altered.I created a new project, added a page, gave a colleague edit access and added our design system to it so the components are accessible.Yet all properties are read only.What am I doing wrong?  

Hi, I was designing in a new Figma file and suddenly I noticed that I can not copy any components and styles from another file. I though it is a bug but my friend can do it without any problem.

I have combined variants for headline and text for mobile as sm, md, lg and desktop as xs, sm, md, and lg. When I have mobile selected it shows lg even though that is part of the desktop. I read something about fixing this with Preferred Values but I don’t know how to do this. 

The footer has a component with an arrow that brings the user to the top. Is there a way to have the foot and above section connect while keeping auto auto layout? I know I can use absolute positioning. Just curious is there another way apart from having the above section retain the back to top component.Thank you  

I create a dropdownlistbox with textproperties, so i could easly change the values. But i want to use the equal sign (=) between text, example: level 1 = pupil level 2 = aspirant level 3 = junior when i press the “=” in a textproperty it shown directly the “variable panel” how can i escape this?

I’m looking for a solution to an issue I’ve been facing.I currently have a collection board set up to swap components based on the brand. For example, when building with Brand A, I have the components configured so designers can switch to Brand B assets, such as headers and footers, using the appearance panel.Brand A has a different icon library than Brand B. I’ve created a base component with instance swaps that target the appropriate icon library, which works great. I set up the layers in these components the same way, with the same names so that the colours are inherited when switching from Brand A to Brand B. I create an instance of Brand A icon base, connect it to the component collection board, and change the icon and colour. All works well when when I switch to Brand B via the appearance panel, the icon correctly switches to the Brand B base icon that targets the library I want, and the colour applied from Brand A are preserved.However, the issue arises when I nest these compone

I am building a hi-fi iOS prototype in Figma. Trying to keep things as real as possible. Using the bezels to demo on desktop, for recording video. Important to be as real as feasible, as the people viewing would be used to seeing hi-fi iOS demos. So, I am desperately wanting to stop the status bar from pushing in on animated transitions and causing the effect seen in the movie below. But I also don’t want to remove the status bar and put it back in post (too lazy and then I can’t demo live), nor do tons of wacky magic animation or custom transitions to pull this off (seems like not worth the pain), nor stick to instant transitions (definitely will look fake). My question: Has anyone figured out how to pull this off in an easy way? Keeping the status bar always fixed when using out-of-the-box prototyping transitions.

Hello, Id like to know if there is a way to make Dev mode and Rem unit the default option for my account in figma. I have to constantly switch to those options manually each time I open a figma file, and its a bit annoying. Thanks!

Hi forum sorry for this simple question but i couldn’t find the thing i want and i am pretty new on Figma, i have created a dropdown menu and in my design i have few different places which needs listbox ( dropdownmenu) in fact, is it possible to not create another one from sctrach and just duplicate- change the list items- then go or any other suggestionsThanks in advance

Hi all 👋,I'm running into a frustrating issue and hoping others have found ways to manage this.My team built a design system for a large client that’s now being used across multiple applications and design teams. Our base typeface, for example, is Montserrat, but we’re noticing a growing number of strange visual bugs during design reviews and collaboration—text appearing broken, spacing/layout shifting subtly, font weights looking off, etc.After some digging, I suspect it’s due to different designers using different versions of Montserrat. Some may be using the variable font version from Google Fonts, others might be on an older or TTF/OTF version, and a few may have installed it from entirely different sources. This seems to create unpredictable behavior in Figma, even when the font name matches.So my questions are: Is there a way to standardize or "lock" a specific version of a font inside a Figma file or library? I’m working on a dating app prototype for a class.When connecting nodes to certain pages, it leads to a blank white screen. I have been playing around with variable prototyping, but sometimes when I assign a variable to a variant, I get this popup. Does anybody know what this means and how I can fix it?

Hello. I am looking for a way to copy frames with dozens of annotations attached to them into another file as they are. With regular copying, there's no way to copy the annotations along with the frame, so I have to manually copy them all.

When I import a new font to my computer (mac), it will only show 1 of the font styles (usually the latest one) in Figma. I cant access any other weights or styles e.g. italic, medium etc.. Any solution for this so that all the styles and variables upload to Figma?

Hi,I'm quite new to Figma, I've always had the free account but the other day I decided to create a new team and make it professional.  Now I have created projects (folders) and inside these folders I want to add files (design file) as you can do in the free version. But I create a design file and it says the following: “You can share and move your drafts in Figma Design for up to 3 days while waiting for an admin to review your seat upgrade request.” But I don't understand, if I bought the Professional license why can't I do it if I should be the administrator…Do I have to buy the Full seat? What happens if I have already paid for the collab seat?Thank you!

Greetings!I’m having a very weird issue where the links to components are taking me to the section and not the component. Sometimes it so happens that the same link will take me to the component and sometimes to the section. the same link would take us to the right component if we open it through an app like slack. my team finds it very annoying as we have spent a chunk of time maintaining a list to our components which is basically unusable now. Has anyone faced this issue? If so then have you been able to solve it?

I currently have 4 annual seats and 2 monthly-billed seats in Figma. I plan to remove one person from an annual seat and convert the two monthly seats into annual seats.If I remove one person from an annual seat, will one of my existing monthly seats automatically be converted to an annual seat without extra cost? How will this affect my billing?

Hello Whenever I run a Find/Replace to remove some quotes ( " ), Figma identifies and removes apostrophes ( ’ ). And vice-versa. It doesn’t make sense as each character have its distinct ASCII code. Or am I doing something wrong here?

Hi everyone, I have noticed that Figma does not display a slider for the italic axis. This only happens if the font is created with a slant axis. Is there a reason why it is not possible to select a position within the italic axis on a slider interface? According to the specs, the italic axis allows a scale interpretation. Let me know, Céline
