Hey guys, we are currently trying to set up a better workflow in our web agency when it comes to templating and library management. Instead of rebuilding sections, components and styles every time, we’d like to start from a template that evolves with us over time. So no “snapshot” like we would get, when just duplicating the current state of our template before starting a fresh client project but rather a “living” library that we can add new things to while all client projects (including the ones in the past) can still make use of the assets added way after the creation of the file. So essentially a “master library”. What we want to achieve is this:A singular master library that holds all kinds of sections & components that we can continuously expand. In each client project file we would then import the master library and overwrite the standard set of variables and styles to the client’s set of colors, fonts and brand specifics (border-radius, padding, margin, etc.).Our current cha
Me and my friend wants to collaborate on a project using Figma. We both have verified edu plans, but when I invite him I get the message saying “An admin needs to update this seat so they can edit.” Naturally, I went ahead and made him into the team’s admin, which did not solve our problem at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hi there, I am a designer helping maintain a large design system used mostly for an ecommerce site. The Figma libraries were built almost 4 years ago now so there are some new features we're discussing leveraging, especially using variables to make the library components fully responsive (right now we have a separate desktop and mobile version of each component.) Has anyone made this transition before? It will involve a lot of legwork so I want to approach this carefully, would love to hear from others who have managed a similar large-scale update.
I have an image that I want to hide by initially but show when a certain unrelated/attached element is hovered over (mouse enter). This works when I setup a boolean variable (“isVisible”) and attach it to the relevant asset (right clicking the eye icon). Then setting up a variable interaction of “Target: isVisible” then if false set to true. The image does show, so it works. But it’s an abrupt/instant jump into view. Is there any way to make this type of interaction gracefully fade into view instead? Thanks in advance!
Hi there, I have a seamless scrolling marquee component which works great - smart animating between 2 instances using delay so it appears as a loop. I’ve put this component within another component, which ‘on click’ cycles through instances until it opens and displays content. The problem is when you click and trigger the parent component state changes, the nested marquee jumps back to the start. This makes sense as it the state of the marquee doesn’t match when they change - but has anyone found a way to avoid this? Or is there no way? The only way I can think of is to make the marquee a looping video asset and then when the state changes on the parent the position of the video will match (I think). Thanks in advance!
Hi Figma team & community, I’m managing a design system and I wish to make a massive update to make it lighter to improve performances on our design files. With variables and components variants, there are infinite possibilities on how to create components. The outcome components will likely be a mixed between variables and component variants, but when I can prioritize one versus the other, I would like to know what will improve performance based on how Figma is structurally built? Performance rumours:— One one hand, I’ve heard that pasting a component instance in a file brings all its variants with it. So having 2 instances of a component with 8 variants, would equal having it 16 times in our file, which increase its weight. — On another hand, I’ve had very complex and massive prototypes in the past, and at some point when I was having many many variables, it started to crash and not render/take-into-count all the variable rules and logic as it was lacking memory. Approach optio
When evaluating hardware upgrades, selecting the right memory is critical for performance and stability. Professionals recommend checking compatibility with your motherboard, supported speeds, and warranty terms before making a decision. In many enterprise and custom-build scenarios, teams prefer to buy memory modules from certified vendors to ensure consistent quality and long-term support. Always review benchmarks, user feedback, and manufacturer documentation to avoid mismatches and ensure optimal system efficiency over time.
I have a Design system file with a component Accordion. As you can see in the video linked below, it has 2 states: open and closed, and inside it has a placeholder component for content. The idea is to replace placeholder with real content when needed. Now I want to use this component in another file, so I replace placeholder with “real content”. When I play it tho, my real content is replaced with original placeholder - and that’s not what I want. BUT, when I start with its state OPEN, then it works as expected. How do I solve this? Here is a video I recorded if that helps visualize it

With the introduction of AI-powered features in Figma—such as First Draft, AI-generated layouts, content suggestions, and smarter search—design workflows are starting to shift in noticeable ways. Tasks that once took hours, like wireframing, copy placeholders, or early ideation, can now be jump-started in minutes.I’m curious how designers and teams are actually using these AI tools in real projects. Which AI features in Figma have you found genuinely useful so far? Have they helped speed up early ideation, improve consistency, or reduce repetitive work? How do you balance AI-generated output with your own creative judgment? Are there moments where AI feels more like a limitation than a help? It would also be great to hear how AI is impacting collaboration between designers, product managers, and developers. Is it improving handoffs and alignment, or introducing new challenges?Whether you’re experimenting lightly or fully integrating AI into your workflow, share your experiences,
I added Figma MCP to my project and also added implement design skill but cursor keeps producing very irrelevant designs. What I need is recreating the Figma design in swiftUI with pixel accuracy. I am ok if it will use PNGs instead of vector shapes. However it keeps looking at screenshots and creating something visually similar yet far from original design. Is there a way to translate Figma design to SwiftUI literally?
Hello Figma community, I’ve used the Figma AI and it generated a window that displayed (Preview + Code) tabs. It’s great ! yet I now want to make it a normal figma project so it’s not a code anymore but a file that has figma pages and components. IS THIS POSSIBLE? please let me know
Hi Everyone, I'm Meenu Hinduja and my husband Dheeraj Sudan, run a business. I’m working on a Figma presentation and I’d like to export video or multimedia content from my slides. I’m not sure what the best way to do this is, and I’d really appreciate your advice.RegardsDheeraj Sudan and Meenu Hinduja
Hi, I’m temporarily in one country but am moving home soon. I need to purchase a paid seat (personal) in my home region but don’t know how to change the region or currency. Please help.
Scenario: "Link Text + Open New Window Icon" Component Inside a Table Cell Initial State The link component sits inside a table cell. It consists of two grouped elements: Text (dynamic width, labeled “Link Text”) Trailing Icon (fixed size, representing “Open in new window”). The text box and icon are set to Auto layout (Hug contents), so their total width expands or contracts based on text length. User Interaction in the Properties Panel The user begins typing the link text (e.g., “Docs”, “Documentation Page”, etc.). As each character is added, the text field width increases dynamically, and the icon shifts right, maintaining consistent spacing due to the “Hug” behavior. The entire link component grows horizontally within the table cell. Reaching Width Limit / Cell Edge When the growing component nears the maximum cell width (or a predefined layout constraint), auto-layout can no longer expand. A truncation behavior activates: T

When we want to design a dashboard that is visible without scrolling the entire page, what should be the height and width of this dashboard? Should we also consider the top of the Chrome bar?
My team submitted a help ticket through their online portal, but haven’t heard back in over a week. It’s now an urgent issue that we need resolved asap, so hoping I can find a phone number or any other helpful contact information that helps to get a more immediate answer. Thanks!
not a native speaker can be mistakesso, im new to this effect and tried it just recently, I checked the forum but didn’t find exactly this bug. I’ll pin the images. I saw on official figma glass introduction that glass in prototypes work, so I have problems understanding what I did wrong or why is it happening at all. Thanks in advance!
I can’t find the nested component on figma rn so that I can change icons for my buttons easily… I can did this in the past :(( Please help mee
Hi all I’m still new to variables so I’m not sure how to do this.I have 2 buttons with 3 variants each:Button 1: off - on - option 1Button 2: off - on - option 2When Button 1 is On or option 1 I want Button 2 to be offWhen Button 2 is On or option 2 I want Button 1 to be off How can I achieve this?
Hi everyone, As the title said, I can’t see the color styles I created in the local file when I create color variables. Also I can’t create a variable with linear colors, is it by design?
I want to import announcings from a figma node. Is there a way to do this?I looked through the following node names, but couldn't find anything. If you know of a good way, please let me know! Thank you! "data-development-annotations","data-content-annotations","data-interaction-annotations","data-accessibility-annotations","development-annotation","content-annotation","annotation",
As the title states, I’ve built a prototype in Figma and when testing it on my phone links to external sites open, but take my figma app to the ‘recent’ section of the app rather than back to the prototype. Is there a way to have this not happen and stay within the prototype when opening a link? I’ve attached a video to show what I mean.
It seems that I accidentally registered guest seats that I had granted access to, and they have already been billed for a full year. This was not my intention, as I am not able to afford paying for 3 seats annually at once. I only need 1 seat to be billed annually for the next year. I’d like to ask the community if anyone has faced a similar issue. I still want to use Figma Pro, but only for one account. For the additional 2 seats added in January, I would prefer to pay for them on a monthly basis instead.
