Hey, guys! Recently I have a bug when I try to align a couple objects in Figma. When one of my objects is in a frame and one isn’t, and I press shift+A, for example, it causes the object in frame to move to the left edge of a frame, just as there is no second object selected. It is really annoying — I am used to these shortcuts (and also this behavior doesn’t make any sense to me). Is there any hope I’m not alone and there is a fix for it?

I’ve created a variant for an accordion menu with open & closed states but can’t seem to get the edited-text in the open-menu state to show in prototype-mode. Changing the text DOES work until I add more words than that of the Master Component (i.e. “Content” vs. changing it to a bulleted list of text). The only way I’ve managed to get the bulleted-list to show in prototype-mode is to have the menu already set to the “open” state, which defeats the purpose of an accordion/drop-down menu. The attached photo shows my variant, along with some of the settings of the text-field I’m having troubles with.

Files that were previously set as “Anyone in [organisation] with the link” is defaulting to ‘only people invited to this file’. Causing a lot of view access requests from development teams.

Hey guys, Anyon know why it’s not possible to have a While Hovering state change for a component that’s inside another component? It’s absolutely insane. When I switched from XD I certainly didn’t expct this.

Hello, I can’t log into the Figma app. Writes to log in from the browser. I go to my account, and in the browser it says: “Your login session has expired. Try again on the desktop app " btn: “Open the desktop app” I open the application, and there again it says: “Login in with browser”

Apparently someone deleted a thread with comments in my Figma file and I’m looking for a way to restore it. Is it possible to do so?

The Iconscout plugin will not allow me to login, I have tried it via Chrome, Safari, and in the app. It refuses to let me login.

I’m trying to create a component for the header of a dropdown menu, which has two elements inside a frame: A text box with left-aligned text that should be anchored to the left edge of the frame. A dropdown arrow icon that should be anchored to the right edge of the frame. The text should be allowed to expand as far as it can rightwards, but should get cropped when it hits the dropdown arrow icon. My issue is I’m trying to make it so I can resize the outside frame larger or smaller and I want the textbox to expand or shrink as needed so the text stays anchored to the left and the icon stays anchored to the right. I feel like this should be easy to do with auto layouts, but when I try the icon just stays floating out in space and doesn’t stay anchored to the right edge of the frame. Thanks!

Recently, when I went into my Figma project, some kind of window appeared like “try a new mouse control”, where controlling the mouse wheel changes the scale (previously ctrl + mouse wheel). And now it gets in the way a little, I want to use the old option to change the scale (ctrl + mouse wheel), since now for a horizontal view (shift + mouse wheel) I often have to use a zoom change to consider any subject in the project. Guys how fix it? 🙂

I’m dynamically loading the font weights of selected fonts, but I have to map values to make a Preview feature work. Problem, there are many different naming conventions, most fonts have thin = 100, but some like Helvetica Neue have thin = 200 and ultraLight = 100 for example. I can’t find this anywhere. I also can’t imagine this is a security risk. If someone runs XYZ plugin on a specific file, they have access to 99.999999% of the rest of the file… the one thing that seems to be missing is some sort of unique ID for the DocumentNode itself. Hi! I’m currently working for a small white label company with 30+ clients. I’ve been trying to find a way to work with team libraries and variables to be able to find a quick and easy way to view our app in our different clients branding. This would help us when developing new features, and with communication with our clients. My latest approach was to use variables and Modes. By setting up our clients as different modes I could easily switch between them on frames, changing color, font, radii etc. However, we’re on the professional plan and limited to 4 modes, and even with the Enterprise plan and 40 nodes, it wouldn’t be enough when we bring in more clients. Does anyone face here face a similar situation and have tried other solutions that work? Do we know why the cap is at 40 modes for enterprise? Am I going at this in the wrong way? Have previously worked with styles but I haven’t found how to switch an entire frame at the same time without switching the individual styles on compo

My plugin supports both inspect and codegen modes. When Dev Mode is enabled and the inspect mode is active, my plugin is properly loaded in the Plugins panel. However, If I go back to the inspect panel and try to check the generated code, the UI says PluginName is running in the background And offers the option to close the plugin and generate the code. Is it possible to make these 2 modes coexist? I foresee my inspect mode executing some tasks that could take a while, so letting the user close the plugin would interrupt that process in the middle. If both modes can’t coexist, what is the recommended way to go for this use case?

Hi, I am having a hard time exporting this individual frame. It only says “exporting” but nothing happen. I couldn’t find the exported file on my folders 😕 What to do?

Although, I looked, this issue isn’t listed. A few days ago I was able to edit multiple strings of text by clicking Shift. I can no longer do that. I have many tables with dummy/repetitive data in them for mockup purposes. When I want to edit the text in multiple cells I selected the Text tool, clicked on a the text in a cell, pressed Shift and clicked once on all other cells. I then could edit the text in all those cells in one go. Very, very useful feature. However, I can no longer do that. Any idea why this is now happening? Is there a shortcut or option to disable this feature I’m not aware of an accidentally enabled it? Thank you.

For 30 mins now, libraries say they are publishing changes, but nothing happens in the main file. When checked, library still has the publish changes option enabled as if the previous publish did not happen. Is anyone else having this weirdness happening? I was hoping to use the new Flutter Wasm support to make my plugin load a little faster. Fortunately the latest Electron upgrade enables support for WasmGC, but unfortunately it looks like it needs support for SharedArrayBuffer which is disabled by default. I’m having an issue with the prototype preview. Whenever I select the default color that isn’t black, margins appear on the left and right sides (I’ll attach a file below). I’ve tried various tricks, adjusting the size, using Non-device mode, Custom size, Presentation mode, and the result is the same. I’m mentioning all of this because it happens when I share the link, meaning when I want to share the link with someone, its preview has margins. And to make things even weirder, after sharing, when I change the background color of the prototype, the margins disappear and everything behaves normally. I’m very confused and hope you can help me with this issue… I’ll try to explain everything visually as well. It’s very urgent, and I hope you can accommodate me. Also, I’ve checked to see if anything might be extending beyond the frames, causing the margins, but that didn’t lead to a solution either. I would like to make a table in Figma which, when you add a new row to the table, it automatically change the fill-colour of that new row against the previous one. The table will have grey odd-numbered rows, and white even-numbered rows, so each row will be the opposite colour of the previous one.

Hello Community, Sorry for any possible mistakes, since english is not my frist language. Anyways, here is my problem: I have been working on a mobile prototype in Figma for some weeks. The prototype includes a bunch of interactions, which use mostly string or bolean variables. It works perfectly fine on my desktop app. However, when I use the Figma mirror app (mobile phone) to test my prototype fonts break, content based on string variables won’t show at all, component states are displayed incorrectly. In short – it’s a mess. I wonder if the mirror app can keep up with all the new prototyping possibilities or something is wrong with my file. Does anyone have experienced similar problems? Or do your prototypes work on your Figma mirror app? Thanks!

Hi, I’m trying to come up with a process for setting up some white-label components that can then be dropped into other themes files and inherit their local styles, but I can’t see a way to do what I want. For context, I have the following set up: Local variables: Core (core colours) Mapped (semantically applied variables) Core Component Library: All the white-label components are created here. Local components are all linked to the values of the Mapped variables. What I want is to have other, brand-specific files that I can drag these components into. These files would have its own set of Core and Mapped variables (with the same naming conventions) and the component would ideally inherit these. However, if I link the Core Component Library to the new file and drag them in from the asset list it will just continue to inherit the variables from the original file, but it still does this even if the files aren’t linked and I copy & paste the component in.
