dear community, I desperately need your help. I am creating a video editing app. I have a navigation bar in my design that leads to different frames. The user can add and close elements with this nav bar. At some point, once the user has edited some stuff together, he has no longer the initial video, but has created a new sequence. I want him to be able to use the nav bar to add elements. At the moment I am losing the edited version in the prototype and the prototype always leads back to the initial video, even though it is supposed to take the video with it. The entire video editing part is a component with multiple variants. Thank you guys so much in advance!

Has Figma changed its download permissions to restrict viewers? Apparently, only editors in our Figma team have been able to download designs, which has restricted access for viewers. This update has complicated the management and sharing of designs, especially with developers. We are on a pro team plan which includes dev mode, yet developers still can’t download UI assets. If anyone else has experienced this issue and found a solution or workaround, could you please share your insights?

Hi! My Figma Education Plan is expiring soon. I have applied for the first time 2 years ago, there wasn’t any problem with my account. While I began a bootcamp 2 years ago, unforeseen family health issues forced me to put my education on hold. Now I started the bootcamp again, that’s why I applied and I uploaded my contract-receipt for getting verified. I had the email that says “You are verified” but I don’t have access to education plan. What should I do?

I pressed something on Figma by accident and then refreshed and now it seems that I section where I had a prototype is deleted. I searched with the name of the section and I cannot find it and it does not seem to be anywhere… Can someone help?

I have an account with access to devMode. But it only works in my layouts; in others, when devMode is enabled, this notification appears. Do I need to request access from the creator and how is it granted?

I don’t think I’ve ever seen the aspect ratio tool work properly as I always have to hold shift. Likewise, using the “scale” constraints leads to a stretched child frame. Does anyone know a way to allow this functionality? Seems pretty basic, hoping I missed something somewhere.

We are using the Professional subscription and faced an issue with our fonts now. It seems that overnight this feature is just available in Organization Plan, which costs 30$ more/person/month. We haven’t got an announcement, that this will be changing to a higher subscription plan. Are you facing the same issue?

У него платная версия фигмы, у меня бесплатная, не знаю влияет ли это как-то, но я не могу найти файл у себя в удаленных, зато этот файл есть в удаленных у него. Он не может восстановить файл, есть только опция “Duplicate to Drafts” при нажатии на которую выходит сообщение об ошибке “You do not have permission to duplicate this file”. Может кто-то сталкивался с похожей проблемой? Файл важный, но мы не можем его восстановить

How can I activate it through Figma again?

I want an auto layout with an image and a text under it. The text should be aligned to the left of the image and the image shouldn’t be cropped (its an image of a book cover) and it should work with portrait and landscape images. Is there a way to do this? Hi, does anyone know why exporting from top menu is different than from the sidebar? When Im doing it from top menu an error “origin no aligned to pixel…” appears. When Im doing it from side menu it allows me to export. So confusing. Plugin Pixel Perfect has run - so no pixel issues should appear. Sorry in advance for duplicating a question. I created a component set which is a card that can change in size, used placeholder images on the variants. for each instance i override the images of both variants, and switching between them works as expected while editing and on prototype if I do it manually or with an on click. In my specific case i need it to be switched using variables, and, although it works on edit mode and on prototype if i flip the variable manually, when flipping the variable using a button the component overrides the image to the placeholder one. Steps to recrate: create two rectangles each if an image as it’s fill; 2)make the rectangles into a component set; 3)for simplicity set one variant as true and the other as false; 4)create an instance of the component; 5)override the image on both variants of the component; in this state both on edit mode or prototype changing the variant keeps the images as the ones chosen in step 5; create a Boolean variable; 7)attach the variable to the variant control of the

Hello, I have a page on my Figma with a “Ready for Tag” on it but upon inspection there are no sections marked with that tag. I have tried enabling and disabling the tag on all the sections in the page but I am still not able to remove it. Has anybody else faced this issue and is there a solution for it?

Hello! I accidentally deleted the whole project with 39 files, and the most filies I am not the owner. The whole team don’t have the access go the project at all. In my drafts i have only a few files i created by myself. Is there any way i can recover the whole project form cloud, or any other ways? Thank you

Hello All. I´m in the process of teaching Figma basics to 3 concurrent teams (classes in fact) in behalf on the Portuguese employment agency (gov institution). To make my life easy, at validation time I used to duplicate + drag and move in just 2 steps all the tasks within the teams, easy as I was shown multiple teams and/or projects in the left management column, allowing no thrills “all stop now” at the end of the allowed time frame. But now (latest update?) a single teams is chosen whereas the others are out/hidden. Now this is a nightmare! I´m left duplicating and moving single designs and you can imagine doing this more then once a day for 3 classes x 20 designs. Tried to find an option to revert the view type (?) for the teams column to no avail, and makes no sense trying to drag multiple or single designs from the app into the browser version. Can someone help, is there I way to revert this? Thks in advance.

I am trying to create a button in Figma that takes the user from the cart screen to the order success screen in three steps: #1 The user clicks on the button. #2 The first interaction fires (a ripple animation), thus letting the user know that the button is clicked. #3 The navigation interaction fires and user is taken to the order confirmation screen. The way I tried to achieve this at first was by creating a button component and simulate the ripple animation through a custom transition between two variants: Finally, I incorporated this button component into my checkout frame and added a navigation interaction to it (so in effect, the button now had two interactions), however, this resulted in an error: This interaction will not be triggered as interactions on instances are triggered before inherited internal interactions. I want my collogues to not touch the design, just fill in a form with “title” / “description” / “image link” and the figma app automatically takes their input places them to my designs and generates a custom image. I have a TOC at the top of the page. When I click on it I can scroll to the relevant section. But I also need the opposite: When I scroll the page of my prototype I also need the TOC state to change. How can I do that? Any tutorial anywhere? Please Help 🥰

I have been using Figma since 2021. Recently when I open the application, I was logged out and had to relogin. But I could not find any files of the last three years. Only 2-3 files were there - the last opened one and a couple of files from 2021, which I had not opened since. I checked the deleted files by anyone also. I am using MacBook Pro - macOS Sonoma. The files are not there in the bin either. It is all my work of the past three years. Kindly guide. I am on a starter plan but such an incident never happened.

When I click to add or minus the value, it changes all of them. How can I change it so each component works individually, instead of copy catting each other? I tried changing the names and it didn’t help.

Hello forum, Is there a way to view a layer’s name in the canvas? I have a large number of images that I am working with and when going into outlines mode it would be great to view the layer name inside the image’s bounding box. If this isn’t available natively in Figma is there a plugin or something else that could achieve this? Thank you for the help.
