How can I quickly access the ‘Edit Object’ tool for vectors in the new Figma update?

I’ve had a bad experience these days with variables. I imported components from another design system, and all the work I had done was compromised by phantom variables. I used all possible plugins, but after several attempts, those variables were still there. Now I have doubts. I redid everything from scratch, and I would say everything is perfect, but with the new functionality of iOS and Material UI kits, a doubt haunts me. I don’t want their variable change mode, so I’m running tests with various plugins to disconnect everything. The problem is with the frames. I think it’s all inconvenient. Is there a way to avoid all this? Thanks.

Hi, I created some blog cards and wanted to use autolayout to make it so the text moves down accordingly when the title breaks into two lines or more. But there doesn’t seem to be a way to make that happen only through the text- I need to manually resize the frame around the title for the autolayout to detect it. Is there a workaround for this?

I’m trying to create an app that shows artworks. One page shows many pics. When you click a pic, it navigates to another screen with a larger copy of that pic and other info. Is there a way to have each pic open the screen with the big pic without having to create a new big pic screen for each artwork? I was looking up variants and overlays, but neither seemed like what I’m looking for. Thanks for your advice!

One of our clients is saying that she has trouble finding Figma prototypes that she has viewed before. Over time, her links get lost in the pile of emails or kanban-board cards, so she can’t go back and view the prototypes. Is there a way that she can do a search in Figma for past prototypes she has viewed? A few of them come up in her “Recently Viewed” section, but not many. (She’s using the browser version, not the app. And she hasn’t necessarily received invitations to all of these prototypes - many are just sharable links that she viewed.)

I often have a problem that has been going on for about two months. When I want to change one color to another in a group with many multicolored objects, all the colors change to the same color when I click with the eyedropper. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Hello! Product Manager / rookie Product Designer here and I need some help. (I am much more visual than technical overall). I am working on a large new white-label SaaS app that will allow clients to completely change the colors of our app by mapping their branding colors to our established style sheet. I have a few spots in my design where I have an element in a “light grey” color style on top of a background layer using one of our “background” color styles. I found that depending on the background color the client uses the greys elements can almost disappear if I use the standard “Pass Through” blend mode. I switched them to the new “Plus Darker” blend mode and love the results. The elements have looked good with almost any color combination. I have a few other elements that use “Multiply” and also love the way those elements look in Figma. I cannot figure out where to go to manage users. I found where to see them, but there are no options to add or remove users. WTF???

I often use CMD+K in Slack/Spotify to open search. And for sure CMD+Space in OSX finder. I know Figma has CMD+/ to search the local file. What if that index was broadened to all files? Ex: I want to quickly open a command panel and type the name of the file. On enter, open. If it’s currently open, change tabs. If it’s not open, open in new tab.

I just updated Figma to the new UI3 but I can’t find how to connect an element to one of the Boolean variables that I created. With UI2, this used to be in the Layer section in the Design panel on the right side of the canvas but now that section is gone. Does anybody know how to find the link variable icon. Maybe they changed it but I can’t seem to find it anywhere.

The scale does not work correctly in the desktop application. Everything is covered with soap and 100% looks like 110%. In the WEB version there is no problem! Windows 10. This may be due to the scaling of the interface. But I no longer find the 100% zoom option for the interface. And the abbreviated command Ctrl+ALT+0 does not work. Why i still not got the update of Figma UI 3?

Hello. I followed several similar tutorials in order to create an interactive calendar. In the first frame I created 3 different “states” of an element - default state, state while hovering and state after clicking. I connected them in the “prototype section”. I clicked on the “play” button and it worked, it changed the background color after hovering or clicking. But then I moved to the second step - making it a component so I can easily create several elements with different numbers with the same function (changing the background after hovering/clicking) and making an interactive calendar out of it. I made the whole first frame a component. Then I made a second frame and I pasted the first box from the component (default state) several times and changed the number inside. The boxes were automatically connected to the second box in the first frame (but not to the third). When I clicked on a play button, it didn’t work, the numbers (1, 2 and 3) didn’t change their background after hove

Hi! I recently posted this suggestion for some improvements with compatibility on the iPad (Make the iPad compatible for editing & some ideas for improvement on the browser experience). In my suggestion I talked about shortcuts for cmd and shift keys. This would really make it easier to select things and so on, but for now I wonder if it is possible to use a physical macro keyboard with the iPad? It would really help to just have a few keys to bring with me instead of a whole keyboard, when i’m on the go. Does anyone have experience with this and have anyone tried it using the Figurative app? Why can’t I change to the new Figma UI look? while it’s changed in the slides!

Hi all, I’ve installed the Figma plugin for Visily and transferred a Visily design to Figma. The transfer went well and all components were transferred correctly. However when switching to Prototype mode in Figma, it does not give me the option to add connectors from any of the components. Wanted to check if there’s a setting I would need to first activate to allow for this? Thanks in advance.

Hi, we have renamed and moved some variables around. Since some of these variables were previously implemented by the Dev Team it is important for us to track which variables have been changed and what the original name and position was. We thought we could check the Version History but it seems there is no way to see the variables panel while viewing an old version of the file. Trying to view an older version of the file while the Variables panel is open also doesn’t work as clicking an older version in the version history doesn’t load that version (you can only duplicate o restore it). So it seems variables are excluded from the version history and there is no way to roll-back changes or event just view old versions of variables. Am I reading this right? Does anyone know a way to see older versions of variables? Thanks!

I am part of a team that pays for dev mode, everything works perfectly for everyone, for me every 15-17 days the mode closes and says contact the admin to get rights. The admin doesn’t understand why this is happening, sends a new invite and everything starts working, after 15-17 days the rights are lost again. Other developers don’t have this problem, everything works and the dev mode doesn’t lose its rights, but for some reason it happens to me. It lasts about two months, this has never happened before, I use the latest version of Figma on desktop, although the browser still has the same problems.
