Hiya. I am new here and I am transiting from XD to Figma. First question please: I created a text object with a link. Is there a way how to select the object and move? When I hover the link action activates and I don’t seem to grab it to change location. Sorry looked everywhere with no success. Thank you.

Hi, I followed the brilliant approach by Mr. Ricardo Costa to make a interactive dropdown menu. Link as below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuJL8t4myms But when I tried to put multiple menus in a frame, all my dropdown menus remained opened at the same time if I didn’t choose an item or click on the menu title, like this: I was wondering if there is any way to make multiple dropdown menus open only one of them at a time? I tried to use the boolean variables + mouse leave detection to enable/disable the display of menu items but the variables seemed no effect. Thanks in advance. John

When I use the blur tool for the background, the type layer on top is always affected (blurring) no matter if I paste the type in from another page, I cannot separate the effect so it’s background only.

Hi, In Figma, in the list of fonts, there is one called NOTO SANS HEBREW NEW. I used it on my project, but now the developer can’t find it. On google font, there is only NOTO SANS HEBREW and they look different … I wanted to know where I could find it in order to use it? Couldn’t find anywhere…

Hi, I´ve just came back from vacation, tried to login to Figma as usual chosing the SSO method to log in as the company I work for has the Enterprise license. Then Figma welcomed me with something like “Welcome to Figma Organisation” (which it´s the first time that this happened to me logging in) and once logged in all my favorite “stared” Teams weren´t as favorite any more, none! But the worse is that the last file I was working on before leaving on vacation 3 weeks ago IS GONE. The project were it was located says “0 files”. It´s not in my drafts either, nor deleted. I created that team a while ago and I am the only member there so nobody else could have deleted by mistake, only admins have access I guess. I need to get that file back please help me! Has this happened to anyone? I opened a ticket to Figma Support and nobody has reached back to me yet 😦

Hiiii, can’t see images in preview in Figma slides

I have a component with Icon R layer in Auto Layout. But when I created an instance from it and resized, show the layer, it get Absolute position. How is that possible? I tried it on other instances and it got the same problem. I don’t want to click “Reset all” all the time, I have bunch of things to design today.

Both the smaller paths shown is the duplicate of the same component and similarly the big path on the top. All the timings of the animation are same however the timing of the animation (ie. green rectangle animating within the path changes without any consistency). I don’t know what is the problem in this animation.

Hi, I don’t know if that is a bug on component tools on Figma. I think that you understand the problem when you see that image: If i edit the text on a instance of component, the status=Hover don’t work. I use trigger=While hovering as even. That interaction is easy. I don’t understand. Can you help me please?

Hello! Does anyone know if that feature is still available? Or do they remove this permanently? Before the new update, I still could use a middle click to drag. But after the update, I can’t do it anymore and can’t find settings about it. I’m a one-handed user and it makes me quite inconvenient after it’s gone 😣 I can live with it. But it would be nice if I can get it back again.

I know that outline + flatten is recommended to get consist and ensured shape thanks to Figma’s buggy vector feature, but these destructive editing will make icons hard to be edited in the future. How do you keep your icon library still editable while flatten every icon at the final step?

Recently Figma has made changes to how child and parent elements automatically apply auto layout rules when you first add auto layout to them. It seems like Figma is trying to guess what I want my settings to be (fill vs. hug vs. fixed, that kind of thing). When this works it’s helpful, but in practice I find that it’s usually not applying the properties that I want it to apply. I’m having to spend so much time tweaking the AL settings after I press Shift + A and it has finally annoyed me enough that I felt like making a topic about it. This is especially the case when I’m creating new component sets (I almost always use AL for these) and my components all get set to fill when I want them to remain fixed width, and the component set is set to a fixed width instead of hug. I have to go in and reset all the children to fixed with, and the parent frame to hug, every single time. I gave it an adjustment phase but after a few weeks I have to say that this is still really bothering me and co

I have an auto-layout frame with a fixed width (the screen). I like to resize it every now and then to check how everything looks in different screen sizes. Inside it I have another frame (a translucent navbar/header) set to absolute so it sits on top of other elements. However I want it to always match the width of the screen. As soon as that’s changed, I have to manually fix the header each time. I’ve found some related threads (1, 2) that seem to have a similar issue, but it seems they’re bugs and the workaround is to set the position to “scroll with parent”. In my situation, the element is already set to it, so they might’ve have a different problem. What am I doing wrong?

How can we make a linear prototype setting time because the maximum is around 10000ms or 10s. Is there any way to change the value to 30000ms or 30s because i making an auto slider and the speed is very fast in a linear setting of prototype.

Buttons inside components such as dialogs and modals are being seen to set themselves from 44px tall to 20px across design. The library component has a button group in an autolayout. Buttons are fixed height at 44px, auto layout set to hug. Recently some buttons here and there, seems random are changing their fixed height to 20px, always 20. I am not sure why. Any ideas?

Hi Everyone, I have a problem with replacing slots within a larger molecule component. I’ve built a complex component designed to be highly customizable. There are 6 slots that can be replaced by 8 pre-defined components (atoms or smaller molecules, each with desktop and mobile variants). Additionally, this molecule has both desktop and mobile variants. All slot widths are set to fill the container, and their heights hug the content. Therefore, in theory, the replaced slot should adjust to the height of the replaced component. While this works initially, changing the device variant of the molecule and then a single slot item changes its height from “hug content” to “fixed size,” which messes up the autolayout. If this is unclear, please see the attached video: Dropbox I even tried recreating this molecule from scratch, but the problem persists. Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong, or could this be a bug in Figma?

I have a project that includes various design elements—emails, social stories and social posts. I am designing these in separate Figma design documents. Each individual item (post, story, email) is it’s own frame. In order to present these to the client, I want to create a separate Figma design file that shows the campaign. This will have multiple pages, each showing one or more of the design documents. For example, one page might feature an email and social post, another might feature two emails. I would like to embed a live preview of my email design into the presentation document WITHOUT making a copy of the entire email as I will NOT be making any design changes in the presentation document. For those familiar with Adobe, think of it as an indesign file presentation with the designs as linked Photoshop files. When I update the photoshop file, the indesign links are updated.
