Some components cannot be published and they are hidden from publishing

Is there a way to hide the components that are made available through an instance swap property? For example I want to use instance swap on an avatar component to change the person image, but I don’t want these person images to be usable as a component. I tried hiding the person images with a “.” but that also hides it from the instance swap options. For example, try using this file as a library, and instance swap on the avatar component

Please what frame is okay to use when creating a website

Text styles and color styles keep disappearing from my files, especially when I copy & paste them into other files. This is a very annoying bug because everything has been set up and then the next day everything is deleted. Also, when cutting multiple style folders to another file, only the first folder is pasted.

Hi! When I work, my laptop is connected to the network, but it says that I am working offline and the saves are not displayed and the Figma tabs do not open. How to fix it? 

Dear Figma community, I´ve tried to suscribe to the `starter´plan so that I could retrieve older than 30 days version of a file shared by An external freelancer. Once upgraded, I don´t see any more the `shared file´to which I´d like to access the whole history. Any suggestions? Thanks Eric

Hi there, I’m trying to detach my Figma master component. But it seems there is no "Detach Instance"option anymore when i select the component and right click. Does anyone run into the same issue? how could I solve this problem? thank you!

So, I was collaborating with my friends for an event and needed a few extra pages. I decided to get the education plan but didn’t know that it would impact my friends too. Now they aren’t able to use the file because they can’t verify their student email ID since their college (including mine) didn’t provide us with one. I don’t know why it’s asking them for a student email ID when it didn’t ask me during the process. I’d like to know how I could roll back to “not having an education plan” for the file, as I’ve tried moving it to another “free” team, but it just won’t let me do it. I can also duplicate the pages but I’d not like to lose the version history…

When I press present or preview, it shows empty page or frame and shows some of the icons i used . What is the problem? How can I fix it?

Hi everyone, I’m pretty new to setting up design systems in my files, I’m trying to use the material design system for a new file, I have published a copy of it however only a few of the components are showing up in the assets bar. These are the only components that are appearing: Date picke alert avatar button card checkbox text field Am I missing something? Why are some components set up as components in the file and the rest as instances? How do I access the instances in the assets bar? Thanks in advance for everyones help!!

When I hover the link action activates and I don’t seem to grab it to change location. Sorry looked everywhere with no success. Thank you.

Hi, I followed the brilliant approach by Mr. Ricardo Costa to make a interactive dropdown menu. Link as below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuJL8t4myms But when I tried to put multiple menus in a frame, all my dropdown menus remained opened at the same time if I didn’t choose an item or click on the menu title, like this: I was wondering if there is any way to make multiple dropdown menus open only one of them at a time? I tried to use the boolean variables + mouse leave detection to enable/disable the display of menu items but the variables seemed no effect. Thanks in advance. John

When I use the blur tool for the background, the type layer on top is always affected (blurring) no matter if I paste the type in from another page, I cannot separate the effect so it’s background only.

Hi, In Figma, in the list of fonts, there is one called NOTO SANS HEBREW NEW. I used it on my project, but now the developer can’t find it. On google font, there is only NOTO SANS HEBREW and they look different … I wanted to know where I could find it in order to use it? Couldn’t find anywhere…

Hi, I´ve just came back from vacation, tried to login to Figma as usual chosing the SSO method to log in as the company I work for has the Enterprise license. Then Figma welcomed me with something like “Welcome to Figma Organisation” (which it´s the first time that this happened to me logging in) and once logged in all my favorite “stared” Teams weren´t as favorite any more, none! But the worse is that the last file I was working on before leaving on vacation 3 weeks ago IS GONE. The project were it was located says “0 files”. It´s not in my drafts either, nor deleted. I created that team a while ago and I am the only member there so nobody else could have deleted by mistake, only admins have access I guess. I need to get that file back please help me! Has this happened to anyone? I opened a ticket to Figma Support and nobody has reached back to me yet 😦

Hiiii, can’t see images in preview in Figma slides

I have a component with Icon R layer in Auto Layout. But when I created an instance from it and resized, show the layer, it get Absolute position. How is that possible? I tried it on other instances and it got the same problem. I don’t want to click “Reset all” all the time, I have bunch of things to design today.

Both the smaller paths shown is the duplicate of the same component and similarly the big path on the top. All the timings of the animation are same however the timing of the animation (ie. green rectangle animating within the path changes without any consistency). I don’t know what is the problem in this animation.

Hi, I don’t know if that is a bug on component tools on Figma. I think that you understand the problem when you see that image: If i edit the text on a instance of component, the status=Hover don’t work. I use trigger=While hovering as even. That interaction is easy. I don’t understand. Can you help me please?

Hello! Does anyone know if that feature is still available? Or do they remove this permanently? Before the new update, I still could use a middle click to drag. But after the update, I can’t do it anymore and can’t find settings about it. I’m a one-handed user and it makes me quite inconvenient after it’s gone 😣 I can live with it. But it would be nice if I can get it back again.

I know that outline + flatten is recommended to get consist and ensured shape thanks to Figma’s buggy vector feature, but these destructive editing will make icons hard to be edited in the future. How do you keep your icon library still editable while flatten every icon at the final step?

Is there any way to hide the control from my prototype, while I embed it? I’m referring to this
