I sometimes move something, the edit its shape and delete something then i remember that no, i dont need to delete this so i click cmd z and everything i did goes back… many steps goes back, whyyy? i dont understand this, when i click cmd z i want only the last step, i dont get it plz help

In the latest update i could find the truncating text thing in the layout it shows only auto width,auto height and the fixed size.In olser version apart from fixed size there is a way where u can truncate overflow text

I’m working as a contractor for a company and they shared their Figma files with me. They said I’m labeled as a viewer and, as such, should be able to comment (but not edit) the file. However, when I try to comment it says “comments editor unavailable”…anyone know why? I just emailed Figma support and they directed me here because I have a “Starter” (aka free) account…could that be the reason why I can’t comment?

I am getting this error when I try to install Figma on my laptop. Please help!

Hi, I am trying to copy a project from one team to another within the same account. I am the owner of both teams. I have a large number of files and I need to copy the project (create a duplicate) for one of my other teams. I have tried the “Send a Copy” feature when I right-click the project on the team screen. It prompts me to enter the URL and the email address (mine) of the team to which I want the project sent. I entered the URL (and did not receive any error message). Then, I enter my own email (because I’m the owner of the team). No error messages, as seen in the attached screenshot. However, when I go to click on the “send” button. It remains grey (unavailable) and will not allow me to click on it. I can’t seem to figure this out. I have already read through this forum discussion, but I am not seeing the same features when I try to follow the recommended “solution.”

I followed the tool’s suggestion to throw my drafts into a team/project and now I can’t find them, just over 1090 projects, what should I do?

Hi, I ofen open our app design on my phone to check if everything looks good. But when one screen is on the end of the file I need to click through all screens. Is there any solution to group screens to jump directly to a specific flow? But I do not want to link every screen, because its too much work and not necessary. In addition, you would have to check whether you need to add links again if you make changes. This is not useful for our app with its enormous number of screens. I just want to group the screens. And if I click on the right of the screen, it goes one screen further to the right and if I click on the left-hand side, I go back one screen. Thanks!

Hi there! I am working on a reusable interactive dropdown component and I almost have it perfect. I am having an issue where the dropdown options are not on top of the other elements in my frame. I have tried: Bring to Front Auto Layout → Canvas Sticking → First on Top Neither of these options seem to be working. Was hoping someone might be able to help me out Thanks in advance!

When trying to save a local copy of a .fig file from my work computer, uploaded to dropbox, but it won’t open the .fig file on my personal computer. Does anyone know how to open the .fig file to the Figma app?

Today I updated Figma desktop version and after updating I was not able to access the design files. The popup error was “YOU NO LONGER HAVE ACCESS TO THIS ORGINIZATION” switch organization to use Figma. But I am using free version. How to solve this issue. It would be great if someone help me out.

Hi Unless I specifically grant it, I don’t see why a user should have the ability to self-upgrade (and therefore bill the org) to an editor permission. I learnt the hard way. Am I just dumb here or is this just an annoyance to capitalise on these errors?

I am new to Figma. I have a reusable button. I know that it should be made into a component. It doesn’t have any other states than default. On top I added property to the component and below I just created a component out of the element. Which version is right?

I have a set of variables defined in my design system and also published. When setting up properties in a separate project file, I’m able to bind component properties to those design system variables, but when I go into the prototyping area to set a variable, I only have access to local variables. Am I missing something, or is this just how it works? Maybe it’s a necessary limitation since multiple projects interacting with the same set of master variables could do weird/undesired things, but I’ve not found any documentation to indicate that published variables are intentionally not available in prototyping.

Hi, I am currently using Azure Devops for collaboration with Figma. When dealing with User Stories, I copy the design link from Figma and paste it into the discussion field within DevOps. If someone directly clicks the link ( that was copied from Figma) it will take them to a error page saying “Hmmm, we cannot find that one.” However, if you highlight the link, copy the link and then paste the same link into a new tab the link works fine. Any idea here?

In a component, I have 360 variants. Yes, you read it correctly: three hundred sixty. Each variant has 3 variables. The variables were temporarily deleted and then created again. So, in Figma’s, when selecting the variant, in the right panel it indicates that the variables assigned to the selection were deleted. There is a question mark and in the tooltip it says: “Variable was deleted”. Meanwhile, I’ve created the same variables: Unfortunately, Figma does not see them in the right panel when a layer is selected. So, now I’d have to go through 360 variants and remap the variables, which is CRAZY. Is there a plugin that remaps the variables that have been deleted temporarily?
