I’m following along with the variant video, and I have made a basic component, but the “Variants” option is not available in my properties panel for some reason. My Figma is up to date (124.2.9). Do I need to do something to get it to show?

To create new variants, please go ahead and click the + icon in each of the locations mentioned for each UI below:
