Our design system has an Icon component to help with scaling and icon swapping. The structure is simple, with an icon instance nested within a frame. Variants of the component allow for easy scaling. An engineer recently noticed that when they inspect the Icon component in Dev Mode, clicking the first level displays the default icon instance in the preview window. If the embedded icon was swapped, the only way to see it correctly in the preview window is to double click into the instance. Has anyone found a solution so that clicking the first level of the component will display correctly in the preview.

Hello, I have an issue with laggy performance of my prototype. I’m using desktop app mostly. But I experience similar issue on Chrome or even worse. Using or not using smart animate does not change anything. I cleared cache. My memory usage of the file is around 2%. I have only 2 pages with barely few components. When I run my prototype and hover on elements the hover effects are very slow and sometimes stays on the element even when I take the cursor over another element etc. I’ve read several topics describing similar issues and nothing worked for me. In general I am experiencing this issue for a long time already. The problem exists either when I am working on bigger files with many layers, variables etc. and while working on smaller files. Did anyone got rid of such problems? Greetings and thanks for help. Krzysztof

hi, sorry for bothering. I have a page-shifting button group. At home page, they’re in blank state. When hovering, their color (or whatever their look) changes, When clicking, button you clicked changes (if you clicked another button, that button turns back into default look). When clicking home, active button turns back to it’s default state. I want to do that in prototyping, how can I do that?

I have 5 themes in my variables collection, sometimes when I switch to theme 3, it shows half of theme 3 and half of theme 4 colors. Why is it getting mixed up? To fix, I can select the frame or object and reapply the same color style and it displays the right theme color that is selected… why are variables so buggy 😦

Hey there Figma folks! I recently stumbled upon something that seems to be a bug (or a feature?) when updating library components inside design files. I have updated the design system library to include variables in places where there were none set previously or where the color styles were used. One of the update included tokenizing the icon set with predefined variables for icon sizes (i.e. Medium = 24px for width and height). Before the update, those same icons had also default size set to 24px but as a custom input, not a variable. After publishing those changes I got multiple reports from the community within my org that Figma ignored the overrides set previously by designers in their local files and forced the default new instance for all icons to have this Medium variable set for width and height. Hi, is there a proper or good way to save exported content on the computer? I have seen there is the exportAsync function, but that only packages the content into a variable without starting a download. I found one method in the export zip plugin, but it feels unnecessarily complex and a bit hacky as well by starting a download via a html element. Also, the createObjectURL() seem to make trouble, when I tried it on a quick run. Hi, I’m having a few issues on Figma slide: When I incorporate a prototype on a slide I can’t move it around at all unless I use the X/Y position inputs in design mode I have a scroll issue on the embed, even if the prototype frame I’m importing has no-scroll property set in prototype settings. (probably causing the issue of not being able to move it around. The embed is always on top of all content, no matter what layer order it is in ** Additionally, the embed cannot be clipped when placed inside a frame. Here’s a screen record: Am I doing anything wrong??

After doing a lot of design work in Figma, I’ve noticed that some parts are not visible, almost as if they’re bugging out. When I click on ‘Prototype,’ I can see the connections I made, but it still seems to be glitching.

I have a small 5 UI design that worked great on iPad. I went away for a 4 day trip and now it will not load on ipad. I made no changes in that time except to invite my team, and there was one comment and response. Prototype works fine on macbook browser and app. Prototype will load on iPad app and browser for less than 1 second (i can see the UI) and then it goes blank with no options for me to take except to exit. I have delete ALL non essential frames and content (which was not ideal). the design is very small so “reducing size” is not an option (btw, I am working on an ipad PRO M4 - so more powerful than most computers). this IPAD is the product demo platform so it not working, it a big problem. Any aid would be great.

Hey everyone, I’m planning to move some projects from one workspace to another in Figma and have a few questions about what changes or remains intact during this transition: Will shared links to files remain accessible, or will they change after the move? Will libraries stay connected to the files in the new workspace, or do I need to relink them? Will the current access settings for people (to files, folders, and teams) be retained, or will I need to reassign permissions? Thanks in advance for any insights!

Hello everyone, I added the remove background plugin on one of my team projects and I tried to use it multiple times but it did not work. Either it did nothing, either it impacted my images without even removing the background. Attached are two screenshots of how it looked like before and after using the plugin.
