How do I find the Locator plugin?

When I set a variable to show a hidden frame of content and then set a ‘Scroll To’ action so that the page scrolls down to this newly visible content, the scroll doesn’t work. If the frame is manually set to display (true) and I click the button, it scrolls down as expected. I placed the ‘Scroll To’ action after the ‘Set to true’ action to make sure the element was displayed before the scroll command was issued but to no avail. Is this a limitation or have I got things wrong? The ‘Change to’ and ‘Set’ actions are placed in the main component but the ‘Scroll to’ is set at the instance as the main component has no context for the content frame.

Hello everybody, I am searching for a solution to build a image carousel with conditionals. My carousel has also a usual thumbnail navigation to click on and a drag option on the carousel images themself. Is it even possible? Thanks a lot in advance in case someone has a hint for me. 🙌

I’m new-ish to Figma and am trying to wrap my head around using Conditionals while prototyping. I’m re-creating the Jimmy John’s website for practice. Would it be possible to use Conditionals to make the selection dots change from inactive to active based on a menu option being dragged? I know I would need to make some tokens first. I’m not sure how to link them to conditionals but I’m sure I could figure that out. For instance, I would want to set this first menu option you see to “on drag”>conditional and then make the first selector circle set to “active” (as I have an inactive and active state in my “selection dots” component. I have 11 other menu items in this carousel. Other ways of making scrollable image carousels just seem too time-consuming. I’m open to any other creative ideas for this! I hope this makes sense. I’m new to Figma lingo and am trying my best. 🙂 Thanks for reading!

Here is a thing about Figma, that is just blowing my mind. Maybe I miss something, idk, but I haven’t found a solution. Imagine there’s a button (from Material Design 3 Kit) that has its “Fill” set precisely to: "material-theme/state-layers/light/onSurfaceVariant/opacity-0.08" for the “Hovered” variant: However, you cannot copy it. You cannot even copy its name. If you click it, you get Styles Library open. Ctrl-C doesn’t work as well. Now how can one reuse this style somewhere else? Say you need to apply the same style in a custom component. The only way I found so far is to use Styles Library: but there are a few hundreds of styles! It’s insane trying to find a particular style like that. I’m sharing a screencast of how it works in real life: Is there a solution to this? How/when do you plan to address this problem? Can you make the Style Browser more usable?

I’m currently working on a flexible layout in Figma that not only leverages breakpoints but also adapts fluidly to the screen size. To achieve this, I’ve been experimenting with an auto-layout setup that includes wrapping, combined with min and max width and the “Breakpoints” plugin. However, I’ve encountered a challenge: when there isn’t a clear breakpoint “jump,” some elements set to fill container tend to stretch and occupy entire rows, disrupting the layout. I’ve set up a large table of variables with different modes. These have all been connected to hundreds of components. Unfortunately, I’m just now realizing that my default mode (aka, first column of variable table) actually needs to be another mode in my table. Really want a way to drag and drop the variable columns so that I can set a new default mode… Any ideas? Thanks! I’m using component properties in my plugin, and trying to match user provided string values to variant and boolean types. For boolean types is simple, I can take the string do lowerCase() for ease of use for the user so its not case sensitive. And the provide a map of keywords for truthy values and keywords for falsy values. So the user can enter YES, NO, true, false, 1, 0, whatever they desire. The thing is that users sometimes map VARIANT property values to strings similar to these keyword mappings, but VARIANT properties ARE case sensitive, and need to match exactly expected variant options or it throws an error. But for the user, if you create a variant propery with two options, one Yes and the other one No, you can create a VARIANT property that looks like a BOOLEAN property, but it keeps the VARIANT property type. I’m sorry but I don’t see why ANYONE would ever use Figma. I’ve been creating multi-media, design and content since 1994. I’ve used some bad apps in my time but Figma is by far the worst. Surely the designers and programmers SHOULS USE THEIR OWN APP. If so Figma could never ended up such a disaster. Anyway, why am I no longer able to edit my own files. Ive never created a team and never want to. Before the recent update everything worked, now nothing. I’ve sent a request to edit but no surprise I’m not received an email or notification. Also, the entire login via browser is a completely unnecessary step, GET RID OF IT. end of rant. Matt

I have a file with only variables, which is connected to the code of our site, and feeds the DS file which is another one. So, for me to make changes to the Variables file, i need to create a branch to not block the dev team if i mess up something, but when i update the branch with the last changes from the main file, is not bringing me those changes. I removed a group of variables from the main file and i’m still seeing them on the branch after updating. Now i’m wondering if the branches are a good solution for my team since the file only has variables, and if i can’t bring the updates from the variables from the main file, i’m gonna have to copy paste (yay that we have that now) from the branch to the main file. Is this a bug or limitation from branches? or am i doing something wrong?

Hi, Reporting a small bug. In FigJam when an object is selected, using the shortcut CMD+L to copy the link to an object, triggers the wrong toast feedback message, which is the message for copying the page link, as if no object were selected. ❌ Page link copied to clipboard Copying the object’s link by right-clicking > Copy link to “object”, triggers the correct toast message. ✅ Copied link to <object/> The correct link is copied, it is just the toast message when using the shortcut CMD+L on an object that is wrong. Mouse wheels zoom is extremely slow on Figma web ,pls how do I resolve that cause it affecting my mental state

For the past two weeks, my labeled dividers in a Figma file worked perfectly. These dividers were lines with text labels (—Text) that helped me organize the structure of my designs. However, today the labels suddenly disappeared, and the dividers now appear as plain line. When I double-click on a divider, the text label is still there and editable, but it no longer displays on the canvas as it used to. I’ve attached a screenshots showing the current behavior and a video demonstrating how the labeled dividers worked before this issue occurred. Could this be a bug and will it be fixed soon?

I’m getting the following error when trying to access propertyDefinitions of a main component. I’m accessing this main component from an instance node by getMainComponentAsync, awaiting its promise. In the documentation it says that componentPropertyDefinitions property is available for ComponentNode and ComponentSetNode. But when I try to access it I get the following error: in get_componentPropertyDefinitions: Can only get component property definitions of a component set or non-variant component Isn’t a MainComponent a non-variant component? If not, how do I access either a ComponentSet from an InstanceNode or its non-variant component version? I just need to check for variant options of a property to catch errors when matching it against data provided by the user…

I noticed that I stopped getting Figma notifications in Microsoft Teams. Notifications are turned on for the file I’m working on, but I’ve turned off email notifications. Do email notifications need to be on for Figma notifications to work? Any other ideas?
