Hello, can anyone explain to me the purpose of new auto-layout icon? So from the last update Figma has this icon for “Child” layout (see screenshot). But I don’t get the purpose of it.

It’s not new, it was called absolute position before, but renamed to Ignore auto layout now.
Purpose is ignoring auto layout.
