It is very anoying trying to add grids on children frames because all grids even on separated frames appear with no reason. It has been imposible for me implementing grids since the las update. I have tried using groups but still not work.

Is the first draft feature not available on pro plan? its not showing on my action button, anyone who can help me? it would help me so much please help me.

hey folks, I’m sticking some debug messages on my prototype to help me work out where I am in my flow and I’d like to be able to show current frame name. Anyone know a way I can do that?

So a weird bug is happening to me. The scenario:Figma – 26 Sep 22 I have an autolayout object (Red) Set to hug/hug. The inner shape is a fixed size random object. Once i grab this object and place it into another autolayout frame, then it turnos into fill/hug I often meet this bug, and it does not happen to every autolayout frame, so im in the quest to find what causes it. When i encounter this, my usual workaround is to wrap the red object with a regular frame, then move it into the autolayout container, and then dismiss the regular frame. That way it keeps being hug/hug. You will find a replica object in green, which i created the same way as the other, but that one behaves as expected and does not change to fill on any axis. Did you ever encounter this? Do you have a solution? Can you help me find out? Thanks in advance!

Hi all, I am new to Figma and I am not a developer… I have just changed my role in the company I work for and trying to move toward the design-side. I have just created in Figma - let’s say like an exercise - some frames for a web application choosing the 1440px preset wireframe but I’m not sure which size the texts should have in the wireframe to obtain a “realistic” preview … if I run the prototype or just play the presentation of the frames the texts seem too big to me but I don’t know if it is just a matter of resizing them in the frames or maybe a lack of responsiveness or … what? I wait for your advice. Which text size do you usually choose for a 1440 wireframe? Thanks

The screenshot2design plugin is not working, every time I try to run it it says server error. I’m new here, someone please let me know how to fix this.

It would be great if the rich formatting information created via the components note UI could be exposed by the REST API. Given that changing the existing description field would break existing integrations I would propose addition of a new field (eg rich_description) that serves the full html formatted content. This would add a ton of value to the feature and to the API itself 🙏

Been using Figma professional tier for 5 years. I know that “organizations” can have default libraries. I work between 3 teams using 10 libraries. When I create a new file, I always have to enable and disable libraries. The libraries that are active seem random, what is Figma doing to determine which of these libraries are enabled or not when creating a new file? Is there any way to manage this default setting in professional?

Am I not looking in the right place, or is the ‘exposed dropdown menu’ (or any kind of dropdown) missing from the Figma Material 3 Design Kit? It was learly intended to be in the design kit as there is documentation regarding it on the Material 3 website. It’s not in the menu section, or fields for example. Is this a known issue? c

So I am new to the paid version on Figma. I suddenly see a mail in the evening that Fig-jam has been added to my account for the next month billing! how can I take that off since I don’t intend to use it further? How can I revert back to just the Figma subscription now? I wish to simply pay for a year from the next month. Your experience helps Thanks!

Hello community! I have a question regarding colour tokens and components (it has been driving me nuts for days now!) every help is welcome. So, I have an icon/button component that has the following variations: Icon left or right Primary, secondary or tertiary Disable, Enable, Hover, Click I’ve structured them like this: So far, so good. I never had an issue with them until I started applying colour tokens to the icons. What happens is that whenever I swap the “+” for another icon, the color token value assigned on the main component does not apply to the instance. Here is an image for you to see what I mean: The button on the left is an instance with the proper values, but whenever I swap the icon, it changes colour to the value assigned in the icon page. As you can see, this also happens for the “disable” status. Now, my icons seem to be generally OK? I am keeping the “icon/” structure and name every vector as “Vector”. Hello. I’m trying to store and log the amount widgets on the page using findWidgetNodesByWidgetId (API docs) but the output is coming up empty. I want to see in the console how many are on the page and store the widget ID’s and position. I can correctly log the individual widget API upon click but seemingly not store them or log. I am on the team plan. It’s just myself on this plan. I can log into my Figma account and can see a community handle that I wish to publish to… However, I can not publish to it (I want to publish to the profile highlighted in blue). I’ve created a support ticket (1176329) and have been waiting patiently for a response. The ticket still shows “open” but the agent is no longer responding to my inquiries. I have additional questions and concerns… when I review the ticket, the sidebar reflects answers to questions that are incorrect. The “Nos” should be “Yes” and I don’t recall how the “Nos” were even tallied. I don’t recall being asked these questions at anytime. The dialog found in the ticket does not reflect the conversation that has been occurring via email; some of my responses have been omitted or did not post to the thread… Lastly, I am opted into Figma’s AI beta features and my understanding is that these tools should be available to me; yet my Figma UI does not offer the functio

Is it just me or is the prototyping in UI3 not as easy to access in use as in the previous UI? I just tried to do it for half an hour in UI3 and then gave up and went back to UI2. Any one else have issues with this? ~Jason

Hi. Is there some way that I can know that certain elements are the same across Frames? Example wise, the red rectangles on the left, needs to be the same across frames, but they don’t share ID, or anything else, besides possibly the name. Is there any way to match these elements? Thank you in advance.

Not exclusively a UI3 topic, but I’ve seen major performance drops during this last year, another bigger one after switching to UI3. My MacBook Pro i7 (2018) get’s to its absolute limits when I open Figma and run an MS Teams-Share at the same time. Stakeholders usually have even worse (Windows) Laptops with even more problems opening files, even though it’s readonly mode. My feeling is that until like 1,5 years ago (±) after a big feature rollout Figma may have had a worse performance for a few weeks or months but there was always a technical consolidation phase where features got streamlined and the whole app got (as good) as performant as before. I understand that more (awesome) features mean we need more power but for me personally the biggest win and value provided would be better performance. Some KPIs for me would be: How long does it take to open a file / prototype? How long does it take to switch pages? How long does it take for Figma to be reactive again after minimizing / sw

Anyone has this buggy UI after the release? Seems like most of the little buttons of the text panel don’t have horizontal padding and they’re quite small. Weird…

I’ve got a free Figma account, and up until today I;ve had no problem using the iconify plugin on my creations. As of today though, I can’t access any plugins or widgets. I just get an error message “An error occured while searching for plugins”. I’ve tried logging out, closing my browser down, restarting my computer. All to no avail. Any advice please? Thanks!

Hi there, I’m new to Figma (just 2 weeks in!) and working on a learning project with basic navigation and responsiveness. The project has three responsive pages—Home, About, and Content—set up as frames, with navigation handled by a main nav component. So far, so good! The issue arises with a “News” section I added to the homepage. My goal is to create an interactive block on the homepage where users can click through three news items (News 1, News 2, and News 3). I set up these news items as components and created a navigation component with buttons linking to each. When I test the news component on its own, everything works perfectly. However, when I embed it on the homepage and view the prototype, the main homepage navigation (e.g., About and Content) stops working after interacting with a news item. I’ve used the “Open overlay” action to position the news elements, as navigating directly to them opens them outside the homepage frame—which defeats the purpose. I’ve linked my Figma f

I got a weird issue here with variable modes in my library - in my design system there are only 2 variable modes - Legacy and Dark, yet in some files I work on I see multiple other modes (named Mode, Light, etc.) - they are not in my design system and I’m not sure how can I remove them. Added a screenshot below. would love your help 🙂
