Dev Mode "view only" need to pay?

Continuing the discussion from Dev mode for all viewers?:

Hi Figma, i’m not sure if i understand this right, please confirm.

**If Kim create a file, and give an “view only” access to John, **
John need a Figma-paid-licence to use the DevMode?

I dont understand because

1. it’s a “view only seet” not an “editor”
2. XD has it for free !
3. Corporation won’t want to pay licences for all their devs.

Lots of people are more than happy to move from XD to Figma,
but if the CodeMode isn’t free, well, that changes everything.

Is there a way to turn this around?
