So I want to have 2 shapes fused together with a line separating them, that line being from one shape, but when I union them both, there is no line separating them and I can’t remove one side of the stroke from the bottom shape.

I want the outcome of what happens when I union, but the separation line as seen in the first screenshot. I would greatly appreciate any advice!
