Can I change the default layout grid when creating a new slide (without needing to duplicate another one). Right now when I create a new slides using the button or the shortcut it’s the default grid from the default template even using a published template.

As part of my Figma plugin, I want to export selected frames to single PDF. I found this global option to “export frames to PDF” which can do the job. Other options don’t work well as expected. How can I do this from within the plugin code? I tried using ‘pdf-lib’ node module. But Figma doesn’t allow me to use any libraries. Is there a Figma API that can export all selected frames into single PDF without the use of external libraries? A help here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I DID SEARCH THE EXISTING TOPICS, THERES NO MENTION OF PUTTING MULTIPLE HORIZONTAL CAROUSELS INTO A SINGLE PAGE IN FIGMA. So the boss wants an interactive way to flip through UI designs in one page. I got the rest of it down, there’s a menu bar with 4 buttons, they have 6 graphic styles and each of those 6 styles comes in rectangular buttons and oval buttons. I have it set up so the user can click the buttons to flip through the placeholder carousel of items in the main screen, but i also need the entire bottom section under the nav bar to have variations of that space in a carousel that the user can also flip through. So how do i put a self contained carousel into an already large page with an existing carousel and multiple button options? I can find nothing even close to explain this. All i want to do is drop a carousel onto my page and have it stay the same from page to page unless the user wants to change it. Is it not even possible?

The variable font menu has drastically changed today from yesterday. It previously looked like it does in my screen shot and in Figma’s documentation. Today the UI has changed so drastically I can no longer figure out how to manipulate the axis settings (screen shot attached). It seems I can only select presets now and no longer tweak settings incrementally with slides, which is much preferred!! Did I accidentally change something in Figma’s increasingly complex UI or is this a permanent update in the software?

I have an autolayout in the main frame that contains other frames When I drag the cursor over the frame in autolayout to resize it, it resizes all the content (other frames) towards the center and it is right that it behaves like this. I tried deleting autolayout on the main frame and then putting it back without changing anything and this time when I resize, it no longer behaves as before, but the frame in the autolayout moves to the right without resizing. Why? What about this behaviour? Davide

I’ve left the company but on the computer in that company, I forgot to logout of my Figma account (which is tied to my Google email address using Single-Sign-On aka Google SSO). If I change the password to my Google account, and the next time someone opens up Figma in that computer, will Figma prompt them to enter login? Can I delete that account and the next time someone starts Figma, they’ll see no accounts in there, like a fresh new install of Figma?

Basically what I’m trying to do is create an accordion that will close all other instances when one of them is opened. Tried everything, can’t figure it out.

Is there anyway that I can apply boolean property in layers section that is not part of component, what I want to do is show hide multiple layers by applying boolean to every layer, for example to mimic something the media query i n css. I have some layers that only come in mobile layout and some layers in desktop layout, without actually converting into a component. Is it possible , if no, how do i mimic this without actually having to convert them to a component

Hello, I want to use something like FigJam or miro to show connections within the designs I create in Figma. I don’t want to do this in the Figma file. I do however want the embedded image to be connected to the Figma file. I’m trying to avoid taking a screen shot, loading into miro and making notes there. The file might get updated and now I have to replaces all the screen shots manually.

I installed Figma beta but I need to delete the previous Figma. But I don’t want the work I did there to be deleted.

I understand how the Embed Kit allows us to embed a Figma Prototype within a webpage rendered inside a standard browser. The authentication is handled via Cookies within this browser (as far as my understanding goes). I would like to embed Figma Prototypes that are not necessarily public in my mobile app using e.g. a WebView. In this case, I can not access the cookies from the standard browser. Is there a way (ideally similar to the REST API OAuth flow) to obtain a Figma session within my WebView so users can view their prototypes there? Are there other (secure) workarounds to allow my users to view their (nonpublic) prototypes within my WebView?

It would be awesome if the direct links for a frame would also work to create Figma smart chips in google drive documents, so that one google doc could contain many smart chips but on hover I get the preview of the specifik frame.

The properties of the nested components are not valid. I have different components, with status and size properties. If I use the component individually, it respects the properties. But when I add it inside another component and it is nested, it only respects the color properties. It ignores the size properties. Does this happen to anyone else?

I’m trying to remove the background from the image, but I’m encountering an issue. Even with the ‘Remove BG’ plugin, it’s not working properly and keeps showing an error. It never finishes loading. I’ve tried multiple times, but the problem persists. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I have a Figma student account linked to my personal Google account, which I’ve been using since 2021. Every time I renewed the account, there were no issues. However, for this renewal, it states that I can only use my school email. While I could switch to my school email, the problem is that I have a few hundred files on my Google Figma account that I want to keep. Additionally, I want all my files to remain on my personal Google account so that I can retain access to them after my academic career is over. I think my school email will be removed when I graduate. Is there any possible way to keep my Google account as a student account?

Hello! Every time I try to share a FigJam directly to Google Classroom, and use the “make a copy for each student” function, clicking on the shared link in the Google Classroom just leads to a blank white page with the words “Not Found” in tiny black letters in the upper left hand corner. When I click on the FigJam directly through Figma’s listing of my drafts, however, the file opens with no issue. Jamboards used to be the backbone of our classroom activities, so would love any help on making FigJam usable in this way! Thanks.

In the old version of community, you could filter files and plugins shown to be only from those that you explicitly follow. I can’t seem to find that functionality anymore. Is it still there and I’m missing it? If not, will it come back?
