Figma is great, but could be so much better..especially FigJamStickers and/or stamps, which I want to use for highlighting important objects from a team exercise or brainstorm, prioritize novelty over utility...there isn’t a default sticker for “priority” or “insight”. the closest thing is... a thumbtack? 📌 fantackstick!   Quick and dirty wireframes → I need more than FigJam shapes to illustrate a concept, but for the most basic components l need to use figma, which is overkill for most initial UX work and can’t easily be used to convey user journeys/flows or contextual information. either add basic component libraries to FigJam or add Stickies and Arrow/flow-mapping capabilities to Figma. To split these capabilities into separate tools makes zero sense to me.    I suppose many of these issues would be solved if i could even just embed figma frames into figjam, which I can actually do, but there’s no default linking of the frame back to the figma file, which means i need to copy+paste

I used Figma Premium (for office) and created a project using variables. However, my client uses the free version of Figma. When I shared the file with them, they could only edit the light mode, not the dark mode. How can I prepare the file for them?

When I duplicate a page all of the text properties on the components become detached. In the properties panel there is an error icon by the text property that says “not used within component”.I have to reconnect the text to the text property for some reason. See screenshot.Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Hi, so i’ve been working on a sliding carousal, and added everything and they look fine after putting it on work it shows a black arrows, which they are not in the frame layers or any other layers and the frame shows no arrows before running it and there is before running it i am a student and i am kinda new to figma, so i need help please​​​​​​​

Is there a way to automatically size widths based on grid column definitions? As the parent container grows/shrinks, I would prefer that the elements keep to their predefined column widths of (3 columns/2 columns/3 columns), instead of having to manually size them which causes the CSS panel showing a fixed px size  

 Hi all,  im trying to get this button so that when its clicked it switches to the keyboard and when pressed and held down you hear the chord and then when clicked again you can go back to the note etc. so far this is the only way round it i have solved but i would like the option for unlimited pressing without returning back to the buttons original state after one play of the chord. 

Not sure if this is the same problem others are having, but Figma is not showing all system fonts. I don’t have any problems installing new fonts, but I’m seeing font names with a dot in front, and when I search for them in the Text panel, they don’t show up. I have to manually scroll down to see these. This is not the case with all of the system fonts, just some.  

I am trying to build a component library in Figma based off of some CSS and HTML code we are using from a new bootstrap theme. We are customizing the theme to update all of our styling across each page of our SaaS product. When I use the developer tool to inspect elements on the page, some of these specify a value for a margin. I haven’t been able to figure out how to easily replicate margins in Figma, especially when multiple layers of containers call for specific margins. The tool for creating vertical or horizontal gaps can only do one or the other, what do I do when I need a margin for both the top/bottom and the right or left sides?

Hey, I’ve been asked to prototype for a portrait 55 inch size screen, works out as 4572 px x 2572 px /1209.6mm x 680.5mm.  What size of frame should I be working with? Would it be ok to use 1080 px x1920 and the design would automatically increase to the size it needs to be? I am thinking about for user testing purposes. I would like users to test on the actual 55 inch screen by connecting it to the internet. I am worried that working in Figma with a bunch of frames the actual size would be too slow? Please help I’ve only ever prototyped for mobile and desktop sizes before.  

Is there any simple way to give prototype links to a client with all pages and even files from a project using Figma? Do you have any favourite way to do this? I am starting to think to make a sort of title page where all the links can be listed, but it feels like I am overdoing it. The main problem is I have a lot of files and pages and people often getting lost where these pages are. Even our project manager is getting lost with full access to our Figma files. I am trying to avoid creating any link lists outside Figma. I want this list to be updated in Figma somehow. Thats why I am thinking about a title page for our project with all links to all pages and files. By links I mean only prototypes. Selecting a frame in working file and hit play button is overkill for any client. So I need to share only prototypes.

Hi,I created couple types of fast food menus. They are all containing the same prices, that are going to be changed every 2 months. I was thinking about creating one “plain text-type” pricelist which would populate all the graphic ones to easly change all the prices at once. Is there a possibility to do this without creating components for every single price? What’s your ideas?

I need to copy variables from one file to another. While this generally works well, the order appears to change when pasting them into the new location.Is there a way to either maintain the original order or automatically reorder them without manually rearranging each time?

I have submitted an inquiry but was bounced back saying that I have a starter plan.I am confused whether what plan I am on and what would happen to my projects that I have created if they were to expire and how I can prevent that. Is there a plan that I can use if I am also mostly working on these projects just for myself and not anyone else?

Hello everyone,I need to manage the counter 16 at the top using variables.Each time I press plus on a counter, I add one point to that counter while subtracting it from 16. Conversely, when I press minus on a counter that has at least one point, I subtract the point from the counter and add it back to the global counter.I want the global counter (16) to be influenced by all these counters without exceeding 16 when pressing plus more than 5 times on a single counter or going below 0 when pressing minus too many times.Additionally, each counter is limited between 0 and 5. The global counter (16) should not be affected by more or less than 5 points per individual counter.How can I manage this variable?  

Not sure what’s going on. I’ve already set up Instance Sap with icons in buttons and they work just fine. But now I am trying to make an avatar component with preset variants for different types of people, and an extra one that will be an Instance Swap. I set up a Component, “Custom Avatar Placeholder”, with an Image inside of it, to select for the Value of Instance Swap. Next to Properties in the right panel, I click the “+”. I Give the Component Porperty a Name of “Custom Photo”. I select the “Custom Avatar Placeholder” Component for the Value of the oOmponent Property. I click “Create property”. Now, under Properties, I see the “Custom Photo” property, but there is an alert icon across from that, and hovering over it shows “Not used within component”. Not sure what I’ve missed. Any Ideas? Thanks!

I named a component in Figma, the name was chinese. but when i export it as a svg file, the chinese id was garbled. How can i fix this bug? thanks everyone.

hi! i’ve a main component- which is a button. button consist of an icon (which is a component as well) + text. when i try to use the variable button, there is no way i can reduce the size of the icon. is the only way to do so is to create another same icon component but in smaller size? is it a common way to have a few icon size under design system? TIA!

I’m doing some plugin development and have a figma document that has a couple libraries added to the file, and these libraries contain both variables and styles with different color values. I am trying to access the color values for all these variables and styles from both libraries programmatically via the plugin API. Ex:  Is this even possible currently? Or is there any workaround to access the color values associated with variables & styles from libraries associated with your document? I know the plugin has a teamLibrary API designed to work with library files, but I only see two available methods (getAvailableLibraryVariableCollectionsAsync and getVariablesInLibraryCollectionAsync), and I don’t think either of these are able to give me the color values associated with the variables in the library. And in addition, neither of these methods work with Styles in the libraries (only variables). Any input is appreciated, thanks!

Hi everyone,I recently lost access to my Google account, and unfortunately, this account was linked to my Figma profile, which contains several important projects that I desperately need to recover.Since I can no longer log in to Figma using that account, I’m hoping there’s a way to regain access to my projects. Has anyone experienced something similar or know if Figma support can help transfer projects to a new account?Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance.

My animations work fine in the prototype preview but when I press “open in presentation view” none of the animations are working. I need this for sharing links on my portfolio and with clients, but I can’t seem to find a solution.

For some reason whenever I’m viewing my prototype, I’m seeing a white background over some parts of my designs. Not sure what’s the reason, but it’s consistent whether I’m viewing it on my desktop app or web app. I included an image of how it looks within the prototype view vs how it looks in the actual design.

We’ve filed support tickets concerning prototype malfunctions and performance issues in the past, but I’d love to hear how this is going for other teams. Basically we have a very complex prototype we use for user testing. Not a huge number of screens, but a lot of variables, conditional statements and some rather complex components. Performance is abysmal, and crashes are frequent. We’ve had everything from lagging and freezing to the “Something went wrong” error screen and, most recently, a “Prototype is too big for this device – Try viewing it on a computer” error message I hadn’t encountered before. This is on an iPhone 15. I’d love some feedback as to what makes it “too big”, or any other kind of pointers as to what might improve the situation and what others have tried. There are two approaches we’re considering, but they’re not worth sinking time and effort into if they won’t resolve our problems: Detach as many components as we can – not something we’d prefer because it would r
