You (Figma) gave us the option to revert to UI2 if we didn’t like the floating toolbar, and now you’re telling us that you’re forcing us to use UI3. This is incredibly frustrating. The floating toolbar at the bottom of the screen is distracting and counterintuitive. This strikes me as a decision that was made with little to no user testing. The vast majority of all design apps have the tools at the top, or at the VERY LEAST give the user the option to move the toolbars around. Be better, Figma.

I've been learning Figma for the past six months. I came across this website (https://organimo.com/) and really liked the scrolling effect. I’d love to recreate something similar as a prototype in Figma. Could anyone guide me on how to achieve this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Is it possible to see all the places where a defined theme variable is used? Like “go to references” in code.

Hi, I’ve created a site in Relume and imported into Figma. I’ve then installed the ‘Figma to Elementor’ plugin, but when I go convert, i get an figma “the node is not a mainframe” error, which prevents the plugin from importing to Elementor. I’ve tried grouping and framing the selection but with no joy.Does anyone have any experience with this plugin or the node not a mainframe issue?ThanksDean.

Hello,I have a frame with a 12 column stretched grid layout. In this frame I have an autolayout (left/right). The left container is also an autolayout with text in it.the text width is relative to the grid. I don’t know what’s happened to my controls all of a sudden, but whenever I type a number into the width box in the right panel, the height of the frame changes, and vice versa. When I type a number into the vertical padding box, the horizontal padding of the frame changes and vice versa. It’s an issue both in the browser version and desktop app. I think I might have accidentally pressed some weird keyboard shortcut but I’m not sure and I don’t know how to fix it

Hi,I'm a Figma beginner and I'm following a lot of training/videos to understand how it works.I'm trying in vain to use the hover function: when I move the mouse over a button, I want it to change color.Basically, the basics!However, when I use on hovering function in the prototype, it doesn't work… I try also the mouse enter and mouse leave, but same results...Could someone explain how to do this? On the videos I've seen, the menus are different, so I can't find the right tabs to do the same thing.Thank you for your help.

Hello community. I have reusable design system which contains next files: Design token (where located all variables) and Components (where I have all needed components controled by variables from previous file). When I start new project, I duplicate that two files and swap libraries to connect them to each other. The problem is that color variables applied to components are still related to old token library. Currently I need manually replace color variables by the same variables from new (just duplicated file). Maybe there are any plugins or tools that can automate this replace/swap color variables process.Thanks :)

Currently it appears I need to click onto each color and change it manually which is a pain. I would love if I could just adjust all colors in the gradient with a hue slider.

With the latest admin panel update this week, it seems we lost the ability to view hidden teams. Anyone else experiencing this issue? Or am I simply not looking in the right spot now that things moved around?

My design is getting really big and slow, so I am looking for the most efficiënt way to create hover states on components.  I have a bunch of pretty big/complex components that represent a conveyor track in my design. They include shapes, shadows, text (sizes), icons, etc. When the user hovers over them they get a different color to indicate that they are selectable, similar to a button.I now have a normal state, and a hover state that is exactly the same, only with a semi-transparent hover shape in a different color on top of it. I do not really like this approach, as I have to maintain both states if an icon or something changes, and it feels dump to just have the whole thing duplicated. I am also thinking my components have double the amount of shapes they really need, causing additional slow-down.  I was thinking of extracting everything in a track part component into a ‘base shape’ component and include that in both states, but I am not sure this will actually help (it's a lot of

I can’t seem to disable spell check no matter what I do, enabling it does not remove these red underlines either.My version of Figma is 125.2.3 on Windows, and there are no updates. I have also disabled all native spelling correction in Windows.

Currently the deleted node only returns id and type, there’re no other properties about it. I understand that since it’s been deleted so figma may decided not to keep those useless data. But is there a way I can achieve those properties like it’s a normal/undeleted node?

I received a notification email stating that my Figma Education Plan is about to expire. Currently, I am attending a bootcamp , so I would like to extend my education plan. However, I am unable to renew it due to the following error message: "You’ve already used up your free access to the Figma Education plan."I've already sent email to both support@figma.com and education@figma.com but haven’t received any responses. What should I do now as my education play will expire in 2 days? 

I have tried many community interactive text field components but when I share prototype links with user test participants, the experience is extremely poor and they most often break or don't work correctly. Is there an official or recommended interactive text field plug-in / component that can be used successfully in prototypes?

HII am struggling to learn autolayout and heard from a Figma pro that it isn’t necessary for the end result. Is this correct? If not, how much worse will the end result be without autolayout? 

I’m creating a Figma plugin that automatically generates SVG icon components by reading their content from a JSON file.When I create a component with variants using the Figma app UI, the component name is shown by default. I’m attaching an image for clarity — in it, “album 1” is the component name, which appears automatically. I found figma today, and i think this may be a useful tool, so I saw that figma offers students free access, but my school is not listed in their list. Can I still somehow get verified for student plan? Greetings Chris

Hello! I’m trying to make my prototype trigger an action when the user presses “SHIFT” not a combination of “Shift + letter”. Just the SHIFT button.I’m not able to get it to register just SHIFT on its own. Is there a way to do this? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you

I created a component in File A, and am pasting an instance into File B. When I paste the instance, it displays correctly (as shown on the right) but when it is clicked into, it distorts into the image on the left.The even stranger thing seems to be, it is only affecting me. My teammates shared their Figma screen with me and both instances appear like the right. They can paste from File A into File B with no issue, and the instances do not distort when clicked into.Is this a bug, and is there a fix? I’ve already tried reloading the files themselves and restarting Figma + my computer.

I can't find a file in my Figma account, I looked for it in the various folders and also in the trash section but I can't find it. I have the link to this file but when I open it I get the message that the file may have been deleted, moved or inaccessible. How can I find out what happened to this file? It just doesn’t return results. Generally, Figma been running sooooo slow. Constantly needing to reload pages/files each time you focus on the file… Then there are the conectivity issues (failing to save to cloud)… What a mess.
