Hi everyone, I have a design system library that I publish regularly. This library is being used in other project files. Recently I noticed that whenever I publish an update to the design system library I encounter the following three scenarios: The project files using the design system library is correctly receiving notice of all updates. I click “Update all” and it successfully reflects all changes. The project is correctly receiving notice of all updates, but clicking the “update all” button won’t reflect the updates. So, no changes at all. The “update all” button remains. Not receiving notice of the updates at all. What I tried I have read other threads in this forum, where some users suggest to repair various connections, which I did to no avail (also, the same design system library was successfully published and updated before). My questions Is this a bug? Is this a traffic bandwidth limitation? Is there a methodology that I’m not aware of that prevents this from happenin

Hi everyone, I am having difficultt presenting using Figma’s slide deck. When I enter presentation mode it is showing in mobile (iPhone X) and I cannot see where to change the view. I am aware of changing the device view under prototype in design files however, this isn’t available when working in slide deck. Anyone have any idea where you change the view in slide deck? Thanks!

Hello everyone,there has been a few reports of my plugin https://www.figma.com/community/plugin/1404783727338541788/infinite-variable-modes not working for some users (it runs, shows some UI, but fails either at fetching variable collections, or at messaging between the UI and the part making calls to Figma plugin API), and it seems to have something to do with the type of plan(license) the user has. As far as I know, it should work fine on Free and Pro, but seems to struggle on Org and Enterprise. I was able to do a little testing with one of the users (Enterprise), who had an issue with the plugin, and as soon as he switched to his personal account (Free or Pro, not sure), it worked just fine. I wasn’t able to identify any other differences between the users for whom it works, and for whom it does not.Have anyone experienced something like this before? Either from the user or the developer perspective?Could there be some sort of settings in these Org and Enterprise plans, that could

I’ve created some variables, but one of them is not appearing when I search for it to try and use it inside a gradient. You can see here that I have created the --color-good-light variable. However when I try to search for it inside the same design file, it doesn’t appear Not sure what I am doing wrong?

Hi all, I was wondering if it is possible to create a component that has some text that should be one of the defined text styles. I would like to have the text be a property of that component just like for example you can have an instance swap property to swap out icons. I know I could just make a bunch of variants with all the text styles but that seems a bit cumbersome. Especially if for example you have 14 text styles groups with say 4 styles per group.

Hi,I’ve developed a Figma plugin that I’m excited to share with the community. However, when I tried to submit it, I encountered an issue: the plugin exceeds the 15MB size limit. Currently, my plugin is 186MB, which is significantly larger than the allowed size.Could you please guide me on how to resolve this issue so I can successfully upload my plugin to the Figma Community? Are there any solutions or workarounds that would allow me to share my plugin despite its large size?I’d greatly appreciate your assistance!Thank you.

Figma links should open in the App. Stop cluttering my tabs. It’s bad enough to have to have the Figma forum open for all the things wrong about this app.

Hi, Context I am prototyping a table which contains the following labels: Name1 Name2 Name3 Desired behaviour I want to be able to set a String variable to be the value of the text that I click. For example, if I click on Name1, the variable is set to be “Name1”. Current approach I have to set the click event per label and manually set the value to set the variable to. For example, upon click of the Name1 label, I have to manually set the string to be “Name1”. Challenge This is very manual. If I have a long list of names, and will have multiple tables in different screens, this will take more time than seems necessary. Desired approach I want to be able to create a generic prototype function that refers to the text value of the label rather than explicitly having to manually define the text string. For example, in programmatic terms, this function would be something like variable=clickedItem.text. Question Are we able to do this in Figma? For example, does Figma support use of a java

Hello everyone, first time here!I'm working on a product developed in Flutter, and we're facing an issue with our icon library in Figma.Every time developers import icons from the Figma library, they render incorrectly.Here’s an example: These four icons (all using the Non-Zero rule for vectors) are correctly set up in my Figma Icons Library.  However, when developers use the library, the icons appear distorted. Is there a way to fix this within the icon structure in Figma? I've already tried some solutions, like flattening all vector layers and ensuring bars have no fill when applicable, but the issue persists.Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Is there a way to customize the number of slides per row in grid view on Figma slides? I’ve googled a bunch to no avail My laptop screen is small, I’d rather not have to scroll left right and up and down to navigate around my slides, plus sometimes I want a side up side comparison of 2 slides but if one is at the end of the row I have to completely move both slides to a random place in the middle of the deck, compare/edit, then place back

We maintain a living design system that our customers, outside of our Figma organization, use in their projects. When we release a new version of the design system, our customers must use the Swap library feature to update their projects with the latest version. The issue is that the property setup on component instances used in projects is often reset to default values after the swap. This occurs on components where we added or removed, a property, or if a variant was removed or added. Ideally, this should not affect the untouched properties, but it does. Figma has been notified of this problem, and they have stated that it is a product limitation, which appears to be a bug. We are open to any suggestions on how to optimise our workflow and the distribution of the design system.

i have done my assignment and suddenly  in the slide deck I can’t remove the background from the  college assignment.And how can i remove the background from slide deck 

The structure of this app is basically one long scroll with 4 modules one after the other. Each module title can be seen at all times either at the bottom or top of the screen depending on which of the 4 modules we are currently viewing. So basically I'm using sticky top for the module headings and trying to bootleg sticky bottom somehow but it's looking very glitchy.  The structure I used to achieve this is: each module has 2 titles, one that moves to the top of the screen with the module and stays there (sticky top) and one at the bottom of the screen. The title at the bottom is a layer behind the module itself so as we scroll up it is overlapped and it looks like it moved to the top of the screen going from sticky bottom to sticky top. I’ve got a library that uses a couple of other libraries to make components. The Assets panel is telling me that I’ve also got another library being used in the file that isn’t linked: But when I click in to find out what’s being used… There’s nothing - no styles, no components. But I don’t have the option to remove it.Anyone else have this happen and know how to get rid of the unwanted library please?

I’m using Material Theme Builder to create a color palette. I’ve checked that it creates the same output as the Material Theme Builder Figma plugin. In this example, shouldn’t be the picked secondary color equal as the secondary color generated in the palette. For example, I use the following colors in the Material Theme Builder plugin: Primary: 00687C Secondary: 4B6269 Tertiary: 585C7E Error: BA1A1A Neutral: F8F9FB Neutral variant: 8C9294 After creating the theme I get the following palette: Which is totally not the palette that should be generated. Take for example a look at the secondary color for the light theme, which should be S-40, but instead it is #00687A, which differs a lot from S-40 which is #4B6269. Is the Material Theme Builder broken or am I missing something?

I’m designing against the Fluent 2 component library which uses Segoe UI as the base font. It’s a very full featured library and has many variables. The base font is defined in a variable group “Topography”, then “Font-family”, then “Base”.If you don’t change this variable, all text in the entire file is rendered uneditable and I fought the good fight for a combined five hours. There was no error here and it seemed that even trying to change the variable would fail.It *seems* that logging out and back in again has fixed it (I also upgraded my account between logins) but this was immensely frustrating during the three sessions I spent trying to make it work.Is someone able to replicate this? Can it be fixed or at least an error message presented to prompt how to fix it? At first I thought I had to upgrade from Professional ($15/mo) to Enterprise ($75/mo) because of some errors while importing the component library.As a very new user, this was a pretty sour experience.

Im working on a document exporting several frames to pdf and all of a sudden one frame got exported as a blank page even tho i have exported it before without issue, if i exported as a different type of file like svg i get no problems but as a pdf it always comes as a blank file, really weird.i tried taking out elements and pasting them again but to no avail, i also made sure everything is inside the frame so i dont know what the issue could be.

Smart Animate is a great feature for designer but how is it translated when Dev receives this? I am able to find the following code for an on/off toggle component: // On click // Change to: "State=On"; // Animate: Smart animate; animation-timing-function: cubic-bezier(0.45, 1.45, 0.8, 1); animation-duration: 300ms; // On click // Change to: "State=Off"; // Animate: Smart animate; animation-timing-function: cubic-bezier(0.45, 1.45, 0.8, 1); animation-duration: 300ms; When developer see the line “Animate: Smart animate;”, will this make sense for them when they write in code?

I added a new property for the component Menüpunkte named Text. At Text the ! says:“Not used within properties” When I click on a variant, e.g. the first Über mich, I can only choose the Status Property. Why and how can I solve this issue? Why does the variant does not have the property text from the component, which I added before? Best regards, Oliver

We are experiencing a weird issue in Figma where library “Text Styles” applied to text layers or component instances get detached on random. Our fix is to use a semi-automated way of selecting all text layers on a screen and then perform the “Reset text style” action. The issue is persistent and seems to happen at random - anyone experienced something similar before? There is a closed topic on what seems like the same issue, with no resolution provided - Text Styles randomly get detached from original file

This is my parent component, and I need to reuse specific content in certain frames. I created two variants and renamed the text for each frame, but when previewing, the frame component reverts to its parent content. This is the outcome I want to achieve, but in preview, it doesn't reflect the renamed text.
