Hello,Does anyone know why Figma no longer lets me edit a design that was shared with me?I still have editing permission. Do you know what I can do?

In some of my Figma files that are linked to our design system, while writing in Arabic using font tokens, after a while, the text disappears, and the only solution that solves this is to double-click on each and every text to make it appear again! In a large file that is all in Arabic, it looks like the attached screen, and this solution is time-consuming, especially since it happens again the next day. Attached are Arabic vs. English screens.

I made a video for my plugin to help people sync clickup and figma, but it’s not letitng me upload. Not sure if the problem is the format, length or other as no error messages appear. it just doesn’t do anything. My video is MP4, 32MB, it is around 3 min long cuz it’s a demo of the full plugin.Is there any documentation we can check to see what the requirements are?

Hello, Scenario - I’m attempting to create a mobile prototype with a scrollable secondary navigation, the secondary navigation should preserve its horizontal scroll position after an on click interaction Problem - My prototype will not preserve horizontal scroll position when changing variants with the on click interaction. The components are still there, as I can see it them in the layers panel as well as click/drag on the invisible group of it. Adjusting the icon’s parameters in the right panel doesn’t do anything. Even moving i off the frame doesn’t do anything. I have  tried refreshing the app, the browser, and even restarted my entire system.What’s going on?? Is this a plugin issue?

In Windows 11, if I have the Figma desktop app minimized in the taskbar, if I try to click the taskbar item to maximize it, it will flash a very quick white screen before rendering Figma’s contents in the app. This is even more noticeable if you have min/max animations turned off in windows. How do we fix this?

Hi there, I’m on the latest Figma version. I’ve added some new variables in the team’s UI Library which sits under the Design System space. There are three collections inside this UI Library called: Theme Master, Colors and Spacing. I have another Figma design file sitting in its own project space, and I’ve imported the UI Library into this design file. But I can only see a portion of the variables from the UI Library (about a quarter only). We have Enterprise license. Questions Does anyone have the same issue, and do you have a workaround this? Must both the UI Library and the design files be in the same team space?

I’d like to scale text visually to 75% or 50% without it changing the font size / text style. Is that possible? I have a standard set of variables and text styles (multiple headings, paragraphs, etc) for most of my project, but in a few cases, I need to apply them at different scales... like for a small banner ad. The styles are still syntactically “Heading 1” and “Paragraph” lets say, but at 75%. There may be a variety of scales, so I thought it would get out of control to duplicate text styles at a percentage.

Would love if Figma could compile best practices for optimizing the load speed of prototypes. Answering: What choices to make or not make so that prototypes load as quickly as possible?So I’d love to know from the community:What best practices have you found that help prototypes load quicker?  What causes prototypes to load slower that should be avoided?For reference: I have a 19-page desktop prototype that is component-heavy that I will be using for a usability test this week. Hi all, Is it possible to resize the bounding box of a component without resizing the contents? I can see the option Resize to Fit but can’t find a manual option to drag?

I have a shared library that houses a number of frequently used colors as well as separate design files that utilize them. I recently updated several of the color values; however, the components that reference these values still appear to be showing the old colors. Restarting my Wifi, computer, and Figma as well as closing, reopening, or even duplicating the file has no effect. The only thing that seems to fix it is clicking the color name in the Fill panel and clicking the color name (that is already selected). Obviously this solution isn’t scalable when you have a large amount of colors and components that need updating. Can anyone please suggest a way to ensure the latest colors are displayed throughout the file automatically without requiring manually updating each instance? Thanks in advance!

Hi all, I was wondering if it’s possible to change components with the light and dark mode feature. The use case is in my site navigation I want to change the brand logo to the correct version depending on whether the designs are in light or dark mode. I know I could just change it in the properties panel but it would be nice to have it automated so other designers get the correct logo with limited brand knowledge. Any thoughts or help appreciated James

I’m trying to build a scalable and flexible form field input component, made out of the subcomponents (background, labels, right icon, left icon) so I can change the states between default, focused, and error. I’ve built these, but no matter what settings I have applied on the subcomponent “background” (position: scale / R &T; auto layout: hug - I cannot fill container as there is no parent container to fill) when I incorporate it into a core component, the “background” subcomponent’s width cannot be changed.  What is going wrong here?

I am a student starting to use Figma to create some html to learn while helping the community by creating some data entry forms for charity. I created the account yesterday but am unable to try this out. Should the school have an education plan that covers Figma for this?

Is there a way I can turn a normal autolayout textbox frames into an component Instance, without having to copy the component and replace existing texts one by one. For example I have multiple mobile pages that is not linked to a component as below, is there a way to click all the text boxes and link it into becoming a component instance?  

I’m running into a frustrating issue with our design system in Figma and could use some help figuring out what’s going wrong. Here’s the situation:We have a component from an older version of our design system, and recently we updated its structure (e.g., layer organization, etc.). After publishing the updated library, the changes aren’t reflecting in another file that uses this component. The structure in that file stays stuck on the old version, and the only fix we’ve found is to manually swap the component from the library again. On top of that, variables tied to the component aren’t updating either—we keep getting an error saying “Library needs to be republished” to reflect the mode, even though we’ve already republished everything.Our setup looks like this:Variables are defined in one file. May I ask how the AI background removal function in figma is implemented, and which company's api is used? I think this function is great, and I want to integrate this function into my website. Looking forward to replying.

I’ve gone through the variables playground docs and everything seems straightforward, but I cannot assign a mode to a frame. When I look at the example docs, there is a mode switch icon in the layer palette. But when I draw a frame on the canvas, I don’t see it. I’ve placed a demo file here. I want the red box to change its red variable between light and dark frames.

Hi, I was wondering how to get back to a free plan so that I can edit my files without moving accounts and get rid of the education plan since I’ve graduated now and figma has put me on a starter plan instead. I used the contact forum and was directed here as customers on a starter plan recieve support only through the community support forum and help center. Please, I just need to downgrade back to the free plan so I can edit my files again.  Thank you, Tanpreet 

Hello! I got an email notification saying my education plan is ending. I already graduated from my university and I barely use the account anymore. The only case I do use it is when I am mentoring students with my own time voluntarily who are still attending the university. With my education plan ending they will lose access to edit their files.I already applied for the re-verification of my plan stating that I’m only using the account for the purpose of teaching/mentoring the students. Would this qualify me in extending my educational plan on the account? If not, are there any special procedures I should go through to maintain edit access to the files? Will the files be deleted?

Dear Figma community, I’d like to do two actions on click of a checkbox: set a variable to increase a counter change the component variant to a different variant that has a checked checkbox. Just looking at the interface Figma seems to allow me to do this and add the change to. However when I try to change the status from “default” to “selected”, it automatically switches back after I select “selected”. Why could this be? Does anyone have an idea? Thank you for your help!

I have a simple gradient style using color variables with light and dark mode values:   This gradient is used as a fill on the hover variant of a component with a simple dissolve animation while hovering:  This works fine in Auto (Light) mode, but when placed in a Dark mode frame, there seems to be a flash of light mode colors when mousing out of the component.Has anyone else encountered this?Is it a bug, or am I missing something with how color variable modes interact with animations?Prototype:

In my design file, when the info icon is clicked, a popup appears with some text. The thing is, there are 100 info icons spread across my design file. Is there a way to change the text/content on the popup based on which info icon is clicked without having to make 100 different popups?
