I have a chip component in our design system library (1 text layer + 2 icon instances). When I make changes to it and publish, then accept the update in our project files, the text and icon overrides on all instances reset to the defaults. It's used in about 1,000 places. Is there a way to prevent this, or to recover the overrides? Has anyone found a reliable workflow for updating components at this scale?

Example:I have a bunch of elements that intentionally have a fixed height and width applied to them.I want to put them in a grid. When I do so - their width and height changes to fill. This is an unwanted destructive change and should be fixed or at least have a way to override. Is this how flex works in css? I don’t think it is - using display: flex - children keep their intrinsic size unless you explicitly opt into growing.

Hi, I’d like to know how long it usually takes to receive a response regarding my refund request for a subscription that was automatically renewed because I forgot to cancel it in time. I submitted a refund request to the support team just 30 minutes after the charge was made, but it has already been two days and I haven’t received any response or update regarding my request. I would really appreciate your help. Thank you!

Hello,I am contacting you because my Figma account has been blocked, and I do not understand why.I am currently a third-year UX/UI Design student at L’École de design Nantes Atlantique in France, and I use Figma for my studies.Could you please explain why my account has been blocked and let me know what steps I need to take to resolve this issue as soon as possible? If any additional documents or information are required to verify my student status, I would be happy to provide them.Thank you in advance for your help.Best regards,Gaspar

I can’t believe how equation driven variables aren’t in figma! Ex. establishing a rem size (font size)then Driving type scales and line height based on that rem unit. You can literally do this in css html  --font-ratio: 1.333;--font-size: 1.2rem;--font-size-1: calc(var(--font-size) * var(--font-ratio));--font-size-2: calc(var(--font-size-1) * var(--font-ratio));

Since I used the company's credit card for payment, for security reasons, I need to remove the bank card information bound to my account. However, you haven't provided an entry for deleting the bank card information. How should I proceed?

Hello. I subscribed to the plugin but haven’t used it for two months. I’d like to request a refund for the charges dated September 13 and October 13. I’ve already canceled my subscription. I’m requesting a refund for these charges. I haven’t used this plugin for anything other than accessing Figma. Plugin Title: html.to.design — by ‹div›RIOTS — Import websites to Figma designs (web, html, css)Translated with DeepL.com (free version)

Tonight the undo and redo buttons disappeared on the ipad figma app when using fig jam. Both me and my student experienced the same thing so I think it is a bug. The buttons were present within the last 24 hours but are now gone.

Hi everyone. I'm a developer working on Arabic apps, and I'm building Mizan, a plugin that checks Arabic screens for common RTL mistakes before they reach developers. The image is a test screen with 10 planted mistakes, next to the fixed version. The first version checks five things:Arabic text aligned left Western and Arabic-Indic digits mixed on one screen (with a setting for teams that use Western digits on purpose) Horizontal rows and tabs in left-to-right order Back arrows and chevrons that weren't flipped Fonts with no Arabic glyphsIt also has to leave alone the things that should never flip, like checkmarks and clock icons. Two questions for anyone who designs in Arabic, Hebrew or Persian:How do you check RTL screens today? What mistake do you see most that isn't on this list? There's also a 5-question survey and a waitlist here: https://mizan-rtl.pages.dev/?ref=figmaforumNothing to sell yet; I'd rather hear what's wrong with the idea now than after I build it.

Your new AI Agent pop-over is obscuring things on the canvas that I need to see. I get the business reason for having this pop-up seemingly apropos of nothing; you want users to see it, know it’s there, and force some interaction and use. However, not providing a way to hide or close it in the moment is either aA failure at one of the most basic levels of design Or you’re intentionally incorporating dark UX patterns into your tools to justify the spend to build them#1 is definitely a suboptimal look from a “design tools for designers” company, but it’s forgivable if you rectify it immediately. #2 is simply abhorrent and y’all should know much, much better. Thanks for wasting my time this morning, I didn’t have pressing to do and really, really wanted to come to some support page and complain about something so simple.

Sometime between October 9th, 2026 and October 12th, 2026 a change has occurred across all of my multiple page workflows where I used to be able to select the page I wanted to view and go straight to that page. As of October 12th, that list is no longer populated with page names. I now have to manually type in the page name to navigate to that page outside of the normal workflow navigation. This slows the process down greatly. In the following screenshot the “Address bar” is selected but not presenting a dropdown of the ~20 pages in the workflow. When I access my files that are public when not logged in, then the easy page selection navigation is present once again. Is there a setting that I can adjust to make that dropdown viewable once again?

Hello Figma Support Team,I have encountered a bug regarding how certain Unicode emoji characters (specifically geometric ones like the Large White Square "⬜" - U+2B1C) are rendered within Figma. There is a critical rendering inconsistency between the Sidebar (Pages/Layers panel), the Canvas (Frame titles), and the text editing mode. Here is the exact behavior:1. Without any modifiers, the emoji renders incorrectly as an empty, monochrome text font glyph (Inter) BOTH on the Canvas and in the Sidebar. In a dark UI theme, it turns into a hollow black box with a thin white border.2. If we apply the Variation Selector-16 modifier (VS16) to force the emoji presentation, the Sidebar (Pages/Layers panel) starts rendering it correctly as a solid, colored icon.3. However, on the Canvas (in Frame titles), Figma completely ignores the VS16 modifier. 4. Crucial Detail: If you double-click the Frame name to edit it, the emoji immediately switches to the correct colored/solid version while the text in

Dear Figma team,I love Figma and use it daily for design, so I wanted to share some feedback regarding video exports.Currently, I can import a video into a design frame, design over it with text and graphics, and play the video within the frame. However, I haven’t been able to find a way to export the entire frame as an MP4.This became frustrating after spending time creating graphics with imported videos and text overlays, only to discover I couldn’t export the final design as a video. I ultimately had to move my entire design to canva to complete the export. With the introduction of Figma’s motion and animation features, it would be helpful to have a similarly straightforward way to export design frames containing imported videos as MP4 files. If this functionality already exists, making it more discoverable would also improve the user experience.I use Figma every day and genuinely love the platform. I’d love to see this workflow become more seamless so designers can create and export

Hi, Sometimes annotations don’t get saved but simply disappear. It often seems to happen in this order: writing annotation - selecting category - enter. So when clicking enter while the focus is not in the text field of the annotation… I started to copy the written text before leaving the annotation, so I don’t have to rewrite everything again, which is very unpleasant- especially in meetings.

I have a component for a quote box with two variables (large and small). The quote text box has a text property applied (so that if I change the copy, it stays the same when I switch between variants). I did have the text in the large one set to a larger text style than the small one. But now, when I try to edit the text, it changes the text styles in both versions to match. I want to be able to have the text that is in them linked, but not the text style. This has been an issue since the latest update.

Problem / Use Case 🚨As designers, we often add Dev Mode Annotations directly to the Main Components in our design system (e.g., adding important context, edge-case warnings, or technical notes to specific variants). However, when developers inspect a screen in Dev Mode and select an Instance of that component, the annotations created on the Main Component do not appear. Because developers inspect layouts at the screen level, they rarely navigate away to inspect the Main Component file or parent component directly. As a result, critical technical context and design decisions get missed during handoff. Proposed Solution 💡Inherit or surface Main Component annotations directly on Instances when inspecting in Dev Mode: If a Main Component (or specific variant) has an active Annotation, displaying a subtle indicator or passing through that Annotation text when a developer selects its Instance. Allow developers to read the context directly on the Instance without requiring them to jump bac

Hello! I have a file where I keep all my CVs, I’m trying to copy an A4 frame to make a new version, but I keep getting the alert "You are not allowed to copy this file". I gave figma a break for about a week, but the same issue is still persisting. It’s my own file, so I’m not sure why it would suddenly lock me out like this. Any help would be appreciated! Update: it only does this on the web based browser version. The computer app is completely fine. The web based version also won’t let me export anything.

We’re seeing a recurring issue in Figma where files get stuck in a constant “syncing” state and fail to properly save changes. This creates several workflow blockers: Severe lag while working — interactions become slow or unresponsive during sync. Unable to close the browser tab — Figma prevents closing due to “unsaved changes,” even when everything should be saved. Version history overload — the system generates excessive versions because of the repeated auto-sync attempts, making the file history cluttered and harder to audit. As a design system designer managing component libraries, this issue becomes especially problematic. It interrupts handoffs, slows down updates to shared components, and increases the chance of file conflicts or outdated states being published. It directly impacts our ability to deliver high-quality, timely component updates.Requesting investigation into: Why files remain stuck in the syncing state Whether autosave is failing silently How version creati

Hello Figma Community 👋I wanted to raise a question regarding the monthly AI credit system and also share a suggestion that could benefit many users.Currently, on the Professional plan, we receive 3,000 AI credits per month, and as confirmed by support, unused credits reset at the end of each billing cycle and do not roll over. However, in real-world usage, credit consumption is not always consistent every month. Some months require heavy usage, while others involve lighter workloads depending on project timelines.📌 Example Scenario:Month 1: Allocated credits: 3000 Used credits: 1800 Unused credits: 1200 (expired) Month 2: Project demand increases Required credits: 4200 Available credits: 3000 only Result: Need to purchase extra credits, even though unused credits expired in the previous month. This makes planning usage difficult, especially for freelancers, small teams, and agencies where workloads vary.

We need an option to retain our sort preferences. I notice that this change was made on purpose for people who thought they were missing their projects - but I think there should be a way in each person’s individual preferences if they would like to retain their sort preference every time or not. This is one of my most frustrating experiences when using Figma daily, and I think others agree. Lots of great updates have been made! This one missed the mark.

As recently as last week I could bring in a screenshot and ask the lil frame bot to “recreate this in figma” and it would build a new frame with components, text, images etc. Now it just edits the image itself, and tries to make it look like it’s being edited in figma 😂 The old functionality was so nice! I’m sad to have lost it.

I work at a consulting firm, so there are a lot of different projects happening at the same time, along with many completed ones. I also work on multiple projects simultaneously.Right now I'm on a team with a lot of projects, and I need to switch between them several times a day.Earlier, it was very easy to open the latest files right from the preview and quickly scan through entire projects, since each project has a unique thumbnail style. Now the same task takes me much longer and requires more clicks. I have to open the folder first and then choose the file, whereas before I could open a file directly from the preview itself. It was easy to navigate and open recent files, fast and simple.Even when I needed to find a file that wasn't visible in the preview, it was still much easier to navigate. Please bring back the preview exactly as it was, or add an option in the settings or preferences to enable folder previews.

I have uploaded my plugin and it was accepted next day. Then I unpublished it to make some tweaks and hit Publish button again. 4-5 days of waiting and my plugin still is in review status.
