Can Unused Monthly AI Credits Carry Forward? (Suggestion for Credit Rollover Feature)

Hello Figma Community 👋

I wanted to raise a question regarding the monthly AI credit system and also share a suggestion that could benefit many users.

Currently, on the Professional plan, we receive 3,000 AI credits per month, and as confirmed by support, unused credits reset at the end of each billing cycle and do not roll over.

However, in real-world usage, credit consumption is not always consistent every month. Some months require heavy usage, while others involve lighter workloads depending on project timelines.

📌 Example Scenario:

  • Month 1:
    Allocated credits: 3000
    Used credits: 1800
    Unused credits: 1200 (expired)
  • Month 2:
    Project demand increases
    Required credits: 4200
    Available credits: 3000 only
    Result: Need to purchase extra credits, even though unused credits expired in the previous month.

This makes planning usage difficult, especially for freelancers, small teams, and agencies where workloads vary.

As a regular Figma full seat user, I couldn’t use all the credits during the holidays and when I fell sick for a week. Can we please have credits rollover so that we get to use what we paid for?

    We definitely need rollover on credits, because what if we keep on paying for the month and not use equal to 50% due to other commitments? It just disappears.. I think it’ll be fair if unused credits roll over .. Way way better.

      Hi Team,

      Not every month the design effort or AI usage is the same. Sometimes orgs see we are not consuming enough AI credits and some months we are overshooting. It doesn’t help figure out a plan. Please allow the credits to roll over or please dont reset every month, at least reset every quarter.

      Hi, ​@Divvya1 - thanks for your post, and definitely understandable where you’re coming from in wanting your credits to roll over rather than reset and feel like some of your credits were left unused.

      I object to the fact that Figma gives credits every month, but my UI work did not pull any of the credits from July and quickly depleted the credits from August.

      A rollover would be better, but in this case Figma is very quick about screwing over their customers and wiping your credits. I think I’ll try Claude Design instead.
