New Folders Doesn't work, I need my Preview Back.

I work at a consulting firm, so there are a lot of different projects happening at the same time, along with many completed ones. I also work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Right now I'm on a team with a lot of projects, and I need to switch between them several times a day.

Earlier, it was very easy to open the latest files right from the preview and quickly scan through entire projects, since each project has a unique thumbnail style. Now the same task takes me much longer and requires more clicks. I have to open the folder first and then choose the file, whereas before I could open a file directly from the preview itself. It was easy to navigate and open recent files, fast and simple.
Even when I needed to find a file that wasn't visible in the preview, it was still much easier to navigate.

Please bring back the preview exactly as it was, or add an option in the settings or preferences to enable folder previews.

What you're describing traces back to our recent update to file organization. You can see the details in Updates to Figma's file management. Projects are now folders, and the file browser navigation shifted along with it, which sounds like it's added real friction to a workflow you'd built your day around.

I don't have a way to bring back the old preview-and-open behaviour as it was, but I'll be sharing this with the team internally. 

One question to help me pass along the clearest picture, is it mainly the extra click into the folder that's slowing you down, or is scanning multiple folders visually (to tell them apart) also part of the friction?

    scanning multiple folders visually to tell them apart is the main friction, taking more than one click is the secondary friction. my primary problem is, it is much difficult to scan and navigate in the current folder’s designs.

    Hey ​@Rishabh-tt, thanks for narrowing that down!

    I don't have a way to bring back file-level previews inside folder tiles, but two things might help close the gap:

    1. Try list view. There's a toggle near the top of your folder page that switches from the grid layout to a list layout. Since list view surfaces folder names directly instead of relying on visual tiles, it should make scanning a large set of similarly-styled folders faster.
    2. Color-code your folders. Open a folder, click the folder dropdown next to its name, select Change folder color, and pick a color. That gives each folder a visual anchor you can spot at a glance, right on the tile. More detail here: Create and manage folders.
