Absolutely ridiculous. I am a contract designer who often works with a lot of different people and freelance developers, and also passion projects and hobby projects and so on. I need to be able share my designs with devs who don’t work in the same org as me, or just haphazardly, or for a bit of a project or one project and so on. This pricing model makes my workflow impossible to complete within the Figma ecosystem. It is basically forcing us to use other products.
Can I buy one Figma Seat with one dummy email and share the credentials with the other developers will that work ?or only one can log into it. I mean how many people can work on one seat and how many can log in ?
I’m not even using devmode for 95% of my work, and this whole change in licensing/sharing projects with many smaller clients is devastating. The cost is astronomical - and in some cases like 400% of the cost of equivalent Adobe products.
It’s too expensive. I don’t even entertain trying to convince my employer paying for it. The value just isn’t there. Figma knows this and doesn’t care.
I know this has been brought up before, specifically here Dev mode pricing
But we’ve just had another Config and yet we’re still paying additional seats to have developers use dev mode. As one person mentioned, the last thing a developer wants to spend money on, is Figma, they’d rather spend it on other dev tools like Visual Studio subscriptions and a designer or ceo does not want to pay £22 pm for a developer to see dev mode.
This is a huge problem and Figma will lose customers when competition comes around.
While i’m hear and mentioning Config 24, What is sldies all about, ‘powerpoint’, are these needed when in design mode we can create interactive prototypes. So many people loving the slides idea but shouldn’t we just be doing this in interative prototypes, I feel like there targetting another market here. I’ll also mention in my opinion FigJam, im not using it. It’s a nice idea to have a wireframing kit / scribble board, but with that pricing its ridiculous, so I just use Figma as intended.
Time to start moving away from all ADOBE software, and I mean Affinity products for Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Now just looking for a Figma replacement. Bad move Figma - the dev value for hex colors and sizes is just not there for $$$ dev mode.
Absolutely frustrated like all of you. Even on FigJam, which is a short-term brainstorming tool, I can no longer open a seat because it would be too expensive! Sometimes we have hefty bills because I authorized two people as editor before putting them back as a viewer.
Any news about this? Any answers of FIGMA??? Its hilarous to pay so much just to hand over some specs! The only solution here is probably Zeplin.io
