Before Figma added the variables, users were able to introduce numerical values through expressions, like 2+2.
Now with the variables, numerical fields like ‘height’, ‘width’, ‘padding’, etc., do not allow us to perform an addition expression since the ‘+’ key is now used as a shortcut to open the variables panel.
It would make many users life easier to either remove this shortcut or change it to a different key which does not invalidate the action of adding a value through a mathematical expression.
