I want to make a prototype where something changes when user scrolls content.
I want to keyboard collapse when user starts scrolling content, but it’s impossible to do with drag action. Or it feels unnatural
Or am I missing a way to do it with existing tools?
+1 here! So necessary 🙂
+1 Really need this Feature
Definitely need this feature too. Seems like a simple enough interaction - but quite disappointed to find that it’s not available. Please bring this on board for Figma!
This would help me so much when prototyping.
Examples:
- The ability to change the color of my header on scroll
- The ability to hide header navigation and bottom navigation on scroll
- The ability to have pop-ups appear after a certain percentage of scroll
Currently this is all possible in dev, but the communication is so hard when you cannot present something visually and you have to create separate designs with extensive documentation
It’s 2024, this feature was requested in 2021 and it’s literally a “must have” for a tool like Figma. How long we still have to wait to create a scroll trigger event in a prototype?
+100000
Please! Will have to switch tools if it’s still missing.
scrolling prototype
Hmm, this thread speaks volumes over the years. So Figma devs. Are you not able to add “on scroll” because your superiors have an evil agenda? We your users will stand with you if you revolt. Can amazon you pitch forks if needed…
Yes please! This is a prototyping essential 🙏
Throwing in my name to the feature request hat. It would be extraordinarily beneficial for prototyping to executives and stakeholders. Thank you for your consideration, Figma.
+1 from me, realized I need this when trying to create a sticky header that gets a subtle dropshadow when scrolling.

We need this feature!
I came up with a workaround for On Scroll triggers while we wait for a native feature.
Pre-warning, this is very much a hack and involves a reasonable bit of setup — but it actually works surprisingly well! Basically it combines ideas from Double Glitch’s insane cursor tracking hack along with an older technique for faking sticky headers before Figma had that feature.
I’ve found it pretty helpful already for demonstrating the occasional precise interaction where you need something to appear at a certain scroll position (like a floating header appearing after scrolling a certain way down the page etc).
Here’s a prototype file with some explanation, and an article I wrote about how it all works 🙂 — hopefully useful to someone!
+3 years later. Nothing. But hey atleast we got a UI change x)…
this is so sad lol, this is such a simple request
Still waiting after 3 yrs this topic created 🥲
I’ve been eagerly anticipating this feature because it’s essential for current design trends. While Dora is helpful, I need internal scrolling within Figma itself to effectively present designs.
Hey All, thanks for the feedback and apologies for the lack of acknowledgement here!
We’ll pass this onto the prototyping team for future consideration.
Joining the bandwagon because that really is a missing key feature.
need this feature so bad!
+1 Need this feature
Same here I would also appreciate this basic trigger
Hi @dvaliao - appreciate the acknowledgement, seriously. But it’s been over 3 1/2 years, so it’s disheartening to hear this will be passed on for future consideration. I think we would’ve hoped that would have been done literally years ago. This is the top-voted (outstanding) feature request, could Figma give us an informative update?
This is incredibly frustrating, I know that Figma is not necessarily a prototyping tool but we design there and even exporting everything to Protopie to create this kind of animations is extremely frustrating and time consuming - If you’re not going to add this feature then at least partner with a prototyping tool that makes exporting all elements from Figma easier (variables, components with variants, etc)
It’s very hard to conduct usability tests on mobile without this feature.
This is amazing thanks, is there a way around for when “on hover” is not possible? (for usability purposes where we’ll give them the actual phone and not the prototype on desktop)
