  1. I want to make a prototype where something changes when user scrolls content.

  2. I want to keyboard collapse when user starts scrolling content, but it’s impossible to do with drag action. Or it feels unnatural

  3. Or am I missing a way to do it with existing tools?

This feature is so important! Scroll animation triggers are everywhere on the web now. I have pitched this idea before and it was completely misunderstood by engineering because the prototype didn’t accurately reflect the interaction even though we shared examples. It’s also an issue when doing user research.

Not that I’ve managed to figure out unfortunately. I’m pretty certain it isn’t possible though just due to the nature of the available interaction types (but I’m willing for anyone to prove me wrong haha!).

One idea I did consider was trying to tweak things a little so that a touch interaction set the offset variable which would at least make things a little more accurate on every ‘start tap’ as the user begins a scroll, but it could only ever be a minor improvement probably — not enough to make it viable I think.

Not having an “on scroll” trigger is EXTREMELY frustrating. Our users cannot interact with animation scrolls because we do not have the capability in Figma. Please add this, it is vital to UX research and presenting.

This on_scroll handler would make it very useful when prototyping complex solutions. Would love to see it ASAP!!

Bueller? Bueller?

Please please can you make this thing and thing Figma!?

Please tell the prototyping team that this feature was requested in 2021 and we have been waiting for it for more than 3 years. This is a basic interaction that should have been done years ago, so we want it as soon as possible, because prototypes are not realistic without this feature.

Let’s get this voted higher. It’s like the last “simple” prototyping step needed to simulate most websites reasonable accurately.

The Figma Feature request topic has easily become whats the Adobe equivalent is since at least a decade. The Figma staff has stopped listening to their costumers anymore. Its all about implementing irrelevant stuff like pseudo-AI features that sound nice on paper to lure new customers into subscribing. Customers already paying for years are just not as interesting.

Some suggest that using ‘mouse enter’ could be an alternative, but that won’t fully substitute the interaction needed for mobile prototypes.

Definitely need an “on scroll” trigger! It would be very useful when prototyping. This feature is long time overdue. Would love it to be a reality ASAP!!

I can’t believe we STILL don’t have this.

Seems now it’s just a money grab game. Figma will become like Illustator.

People migratiing from XD where already frustrated, so in Figma the frustration kicks in even faster. On scroll trigger please!

Been hacking together prototypes with janky “mouse enter/mouse leave” triggers to pull this off for 2+ years now.

This product used to listen to its users so well. What happened???

I see the voting is gone! Way to go Figma! Now we can’t even see which features are high-voted.

A LOT OF PEEPS WANT DEEZ SCROLL TRIGGERS. LEZZZZZZZ GOOOoooooooooo Figma team

Same, need this for many design features in prototypes. Up-Vote ⬆️!

PLEASE DEAR GOD IT’S 2025!

Please! We need it!

Need this feature to make transparent navigation bar to color bar when scrolling the web site, same for desktop and mobile responsive

This is a really glaring omission from the list of triggers. C’mon Figma team!

Let’s add a complicated Figpal character browser screen, with colors and make it follow your cursor, but forget about adding scrolling prototyping? What is wrong with Figma, priorites?

Same here, we badly need this to mimic common UI behavior on iOS where the header navbar switches from a large to small title as the user scrolls down.

How ridiculous is it that they spend time and resources into adding a FigPal, that does nothing to better the tool, instead of developing a function that allows us to prototype one of the most common interactions on the web… even Axure RP had this feature more than 15 years ago. 🤦🏻. Huge FAIL!

Thanks Figma for the AI generated stuff, can we now have some basic trigger please? For creating mobile app and testing them with users, it seems like a very obvious feature to be able to change the header depending on the scroll! Common behavior of many apps nowadays.
