Maybe I’m the only person who is using icon libraries that need to be adjustable in style to a variety of scenarios (I’m probably not), but the fact that I can’t edit the end points in icon components without detaching the component since years is actually driving me low-key mad. And I have survived a lot of things so far. So curious why this property can’t be edited and if we can please get this ;)
I want the stroke style to inherit all properties, not just colors you know we have :color、size、strokes per side、 inside and outside、 and so on。 I want to write it all down when I create t he styles 🤣
Sometimes pages need to live across Multiple files. Instead of duplicating the pages and creating a new instance of it, it would be good to have one single source of truth. The intended result is to have one page that is in-sync across different files. If it gets updated in file 2, those updates should appear in file 1, and vice versa.Alternatively, just being able to embed a read-only version of the page would be helpful. It could be editable only in the one (parent) file, but is visible in the other.
I’m lost… I cannot tell consistently where the heck I am supposed to find the rounded corners editor for elements. This new UI just feels overly complicated with things jumping around in different places. The other UI was predictable. This one does not seem to be.
I just want to delete all my drafts, but the interface makes it nearly impossible. There's no way to select all, the checkboxes are hard to see, there's no clear "delete all" button, and no visible scroll to navigate the list. The experience is confusing and frustrating for bulk actions. Please make it easier to manage multiple drafts with bulk selection, visible scroll, and more accessible action buttons.
It would be so useful for those in Game Design to be able to create a button from text, using auto layout then a fill to then be able to edit notches, angles and manipulate shapes. You can adjust radius’s so surely it would be a simple addition. I understand it can be done if you add auto layout after but it would just be a better experience if you could do it at the beginning.
The meta info of a comment link shows figma design file icon.Better UX:If a user has figma authenticated on their slack as an integration. The meta info should show the comment text truncated to 30-40 characters.
I’m just curious why this in the [padding] box 👇 is not here in the [gap] box too 👇why I have to open the drop down for the variables when I can get it within a single click?
Hi FigmaIt would be great to be able to show/hide component properties when using an instance. Some of my components are complex and having to scroll through seemingly endless nested components, variant settings and other props in order to access the design functions that live below them can get irksome quickly. Thanks
I’m using variables and modes to create multilingual prototypes, using a mode for each language (e.g., English, Hindi, and Korean). When designing, I can switch the language for the whole page easily which is great to create a multilingual prototypes. However, for testing I’d like to be able to provide separate links for participants to test the prototype in their own languages. This could be achieved if there was a way to set the mode for the page as part of the prototype url parameters. That is, having a link with the mode set to Hindi that I can share with Hindi speakers, and another link always set to Korean to be shared with Korean speakers. Currently, I had to duplicate the prototype page to create language-specific versions (setting each copy to a different mode). When there are changes I’ve been regenerating the copies which results in the previous links to the prototypes no longer being valid.
When I export SVGs from Motiff and import them into Figma, all the text gets broken down into individual vector shapes for each letter. This makes it impossible to edit the text as a whole in Figma, and increases the number of unnecessary layers drastically.I would like to request support for preserving text elements during SVG import — either as editable text layers or by detecting grouped text for easier editing. This feature would significantly improve workflows for users importing design assets from other tools like Motiff.
In our current workflow, new changes to an existing file and/or library start with a branch. The branch allows for a staging environment, but unfortunately we are not able to run API calls to a branch to test before moving to a “production” state (merged to main and published libraries). Can we please make this possible?
Hello, I really wish UI3 made the invalid assets more visible when publishing the library. I keep having issues with components because I do not see that there’s an invalid asset.
Having used App Generation with Claude AI, I know how powerful it is to add PDFs as references to inform the content of the generated output. So why is it not possible to do the same in Figma Make, given that it uses the same LLM? Ideally, I would like to be able to create a prompt such as: 'Analyse the attached PDFs (CV and portfolio) and create a portfolio homepage based on their content.'While the current image and Figma screen references are great for styling, being able to analyse and synthesise PDF content to generate an app would be awesome!
Hey @Figma,I've got a feature idea that I think could really streamline our workflow!Currently, when I select a frame, I can easily see and modify all the colors used within it from the Design panel. This is incredibly useful for making quick, global changes. My suggestion is to implement a similar feature for components. It would be amazing if, upon selecting a frame, the Design panel could display all the unique components used within that frame.Imagine being able to: * See a list of every component instance in the selected frame. * If a component is used multiple times, identify all its instances at once. * Quickly change the variant of all those instances directly from the Design panel, just like we can with colors. This would be a massive time-saver, especially when working with design systems where we often use the same component across many different parts of a frame. It would make bulk updates much more efficient. What do you think?
Hello!I was wondering if I could request a more efficient rendering method for images in the canvas. I have noticed that when my file contains a large amount of any or a lesser number of high resolution images that performance of the file/canvas degrades significantly, sometimes debilitatingly so. I suspect that this is because the rendering engine is doing a couple things:Treating every instance of an image to be unique in terms of memory utilization (the more I add of a single image = more performance decrease) Rendering every image at 100% resolution despite the canvas zoom level or image sizeSo I’m wondering if there are any plans for increasing efficiency of images/rasterized content for the canvas, this is pretty limiting right now in terms of my workflow and things are reallllly slow even though I have around 5 images that I reuse in my files. I’d really love a better raster image rendering method :)
Hey Figma Community! I wanted to suggest adding keyboard shortcuts for “Hug content”, “Fill container” and “Fixed width”. With the new design, these options are now in a dropdown, and having shortcuts would save so much time—potentially making our workflow 30% faster! Imagine using these shortcuts on Figma Creator Micro or other external keyboards—how cool would that be? If you agree, please like this post so Figma can see the demand and implement this feature. Thanks for your support!
Fill container should be a button. Right now there’s a button and keyboard shortcut for hug, but fill is just as if not more important, yet it has neither a shortcut nor a button. If hug is a button, it also doesn’t make any sense for unclicking it to do nothing. You could easily add functionality to switch between states (either hug/fill or hug/fill/fixed) by pressing the button. Instead, currently you can click it once to hug, and then click again to do nothing. Please add a fill button or make the hug button more functional!
These actions don’t have their keyboard combinations, which prevents me from assigning them from my Mouse keys. It’s one of the most used behaviours for so many people. Is there any way for me to assign them to a shortcut / mouse key?
I just want to reinforce what Luis posted last year, since I agree 100% with him. Original thread: It would be incredibly helpful if there were a way to include a rejection reason when declining a Figma seat upgrade request.I frequently receive upgrade notifications from across the organization, and in most cases, the requestors are unaware that there's an internal approval process they need to follow, such as submitting a request through our IT department rather than requesting directly via Figma.Lately, this has become quite challenging to manage. When I reject these requests, I often receive frustrated follow-up emails from users who don’t understand why their upgrade was denied. Being able to provide a brief explanation at the time of rejection would save time, reduce confusion, and help streamline communication. Thanks for considering this!
I really like Figma Make — it's a fascinating tool — but I find it quite surprising that it generates files I can't edit with regular Figma tools, nor export or import elsewhere. In the end, I can only look at them. I guess I still need to understand who it's really for and what its intended use case is.
Currently anyone who has view rights can approve a view request; however, this may cause view rights issues in some cases. Suggest allowing file creators or admins to set whether they allow other viewers to grant view rights to other people.
Dear Figma Support Team,Hello,I have a few questions regarding the recent update: Where can I now find the Auto Layout paddings in the right-side panel? Why is the commonly used "Create Component" button so hidden now? To adjust the color opacity, I now have to click on the Fill button and then reduce the opacity from inside. This feels less intuitive. I kindly ask you to consider simplifying these interactions to make the design process more efficient for designers.Thank you!Best regards,Artak Mkrtchyan
It would be so handy if I was able to “set” a typing “effect” to prototypes. Very often we create protos that filters a list. It is very hard to simulate the typing while filtering out the list with variables. Thank you
TL;DR: Changes highlighted in version history snapshots. Scenario: I am working on a file with other designers and want to know what someone else did in the same file. I can pull up older version history, and see that someone else worked on the file on any date, but other than doing a visual comparison against a version that I worked on before to spot differences, I don’t know what they did. That leaves lots of room for missing something… As a collaboration tool, it would be very helpful if Figma did something similar with the history snapshots that a certain company (that rhymes with “poodle”) does with their Docs free online document editor. In the the case of Figma, when a collaborator looks at a snapshot in the version history it would highlight things that were changed in that version. It does not have to be every minute change so much, but things such as highlighting a layer that had changes made to it. Highlighting new frames that were created. Then bringing the screen focus to
