Suggest a Feature

As a QA Engineer, I am working with Mind Maps that have large number of nodes and Due to the Collaborate-Friendly feature in Figma, I have moved to Figma from other Classical Mind Map creation tools like Xmind. But, I have observed that there is no way to import mind maps to the FigJam boards using other mind map formats. In tools like Xmind, it has the capability to import mind maps from;Other Mind Map formats: “*.mmap, *.mm,  *.lighten, *.mindnode, *.emmx, *.itmz...etc” Makdown Files OPML Files TextBundle Word(DOCX) etcSo, it would be really great to have that feature in Figma so it would really help for the ones who are willing to migrate their old Mind Maps to Figma(For Both Individual and Enterprise users).Moreover, it is really nice to have the “Outline” view for the Figma Mind Maps. It’s nice to know when a file was last updated, but what about individual pages? We often name pages like this: “[2/13] Homescreen design” to show when the page was last updated. Was wondering if it would be possible to show. Something like this:

Right now, if I paste in something with a color style from another Figma file, that specific piece maintains the style but I can’t apply that style to other things. When I go to add it as a style for the new file, it wipes out the name. It would be so much faster and easier if, when I hit the plus button to add the style, it maintained the name it already had (with the option still to change the name if I want).My organization works with multiple clients so each “project” is a client. Then, within the project, there might be separate files for a website, social ads, emails, etc. that all use the same fonts and colors. Right now, we have to remake the styles for each of those files within the project. I imagine having a “brand guidelines” file with all of the colors, fonts, etc. Then we can copy over the pieces we need from the guidelines into the files we’re working on rather than having to remake the styles every time.Alternatively or additionally, if there was a toggle to apply style

This occurs when I have an instance in my clipboard and I attempt to paste-to-replace an instance inside another instance. It’d be great to be able to use the paste-to-replace keyboard shortcut to swap instances, rather than going through the hassle of selecting the nested instance and swapping it for another through the properties panel.

Rather than specifying exact numbers in the transition panel, it would be nice to bind the transition timing to a specific variable. The would allow for situation where when a modal is displayed, then closed after a specific increment, that increment could be set globally via a set time.

Say I’m doing a brainstorming session at work and people wrote a bunch of notes on stickies. Is there a feature to one-click cluster and organize them based on ideas? Currently we have to do this manually and it’s no scalable.

So I’m in the trial for UI3. So far it is going well. I am able to find everything that I need to do my work and I have been both designing and maintaining the design system for two weeks. I like that the main CTA have moved to the bottom of the screen from the top left. One thing that is bothering me is I can no longer use my shortcuts to quickly create a link. On a mac CMD+ K opens the link box then CMD+ V pastes in the link I copied from elsewhere. (On Windows this would be CTRL+ K then CTRL + V) I use this functionality ALOT in handoffs. Maybe others do too? Also these shortcuts are used across many many applications such as Office 365, Google docs, sheets etc and even here in this text editor. Now CMD + K opens a component search window: I was instructed that a NEW shortcut SHIFT+CMD+U. now opens the link box. Hi there, I’d like Figma to detect when variables in a given Frame share the same modes, and only offer one dropdown to switch (or auto switch from the parent). Let me explain: Today, if you create a file (or Collection) A, with a variable color that has two modes, for instance color{light, dark}, and another file, or collection B, with another color-2{light, dark} Figma will not detect that they have a similar mode and will present two mode switchers, one for each color (see below) I’d like Figma to detect that those Collections share the same mode structure and group them in a single mode switch. It would be particularly useful for cases where you have items from several different brands in a single Frame but want to switch it easily to light or dark mode (a notion that all brand share). Hope that’s clear! (and it might all be made irrelevent by Extended collections…)

We have a video in our slide, but while presenting, there didn’t seem to be a way to restart the video (or pause it for that matter) - while running through the presentation to practice, we discovered that there were a few times when we’d get to that slide and the video would be halfway through already. Also, why is the Presenter Notes a thin grey bar at the bottom? That took us forever to find. 😦. Maybe add “Show Presenter Notes” to the Figma > View menu?

When I undo, I want undo only changes that I’ve made to a document, not what I’ve selected. I find the existing behavior to be unintuitive and counter to basically all other applications. However, I realize some people like it the way it is, so we can we get a user option to only include document changes in Undo?

Currently, the "Alt + WASD" shortcut for moving elements is designed for QWERTY layouts.  On French AZERTY keyboards, this becomes very awkward, since the natural movement keys are ZQSD instead of WASD.  Even when setting the keyboard layout to "French AZERTY" in Figma, the shortcuts remain QWERTY-based. This creates a big usability issue for AZERTY users, as one of the most practical shortcuts feels broken.  This would greatly improve the experience for all non-QWERTY users.   

So I am using view mode (on web browser) to see a figma file created by other designer. And it has a text which contains a link.  I can click that link to go to the destination, but I don’t want to do that. I want to copy the url of that link text. If I right click, it will only let me copy link of selection of the parent frame.Please, you should let viewer to copy the url embeded in a text. It’s crucial and very basic! Thanks.

Just a small inconvenience, and I know Figma auto-saves, but would be nice if you could ask “are you sure you want to quit” etc. if you accidentally use the keyboard shortcut to quit the desktop app.

Hi team,Variable modes are incredibly helpful for testing layout behaviors in the Editor. Typically, we duplicate frames and assign modes like Desktop, Tablet, or Mobile. While this works, it doesn’t extend well into Presentation mode.Currently: Presentation → Responsive works nicely with Auto Layout + min/max constraints. However, variable modes remain static—locked to whatever mode was manually applied to a frame. The existing “Auto” mode is limited to inheritance (children follow parent), but the parent itself still requires a manual mode switch. Feature Request:Introduce a real “Responsive Auto Mode” that automatically applies the correct variable mode based on the element’s width.  I know this might not be a fully realistic approach, since Figma can’t always know which numeric variable should be responsible for triggering a breakpoint.An alternative would be to add a “Responsive” toggle in the Variables panel, where the designer explicitly marks which variable (e.g. width, bre

I think that figma is being a complete all rounder tool as the days are going. As a UI designer I'd love to see some more changes in figma if it's possible.1. I know there's already a brush tool system. But i think that it'd be nice if we can see a complete brush tool with all the elements like masking and other stuff. using brush tool to create cool effects.2. More text styling options like illustrator. UI design nowadays knows no boundaries. to achieve that we need to do different types of styling of texts. there's a lot but there is some options missing, If those were in figma, it would have been cool.4. It would be helpful if Figma notification previews in Slack showed the Figma page name in addition to the Figma file name. We often have multiple conversations happening across different pages within files, so knowing the specific page would provide better context. Just a thought for future updates!

Currently, when I share a link to a particular frame in Slack, the preview shows the whole canvas with many frames. I would prefer to see the shared frame in the preview instead.

When creating a new file in Figma, it would be helpful to display a “Write File Name” modal. This modal could include: A file name input field An option to move the file to a specific project/folder A “Skip for now” option This feature would streamline file organization, reduce clutter, and be especially helpful for beginners who might forget to name or organize their files right away.

I’d like to request a feature that would help for many workflows: export comments from a FigJam board.For retros, audits, or sharing outside of FigJam, it would save a lot of time if we could export comments as a CSV, JSON, or even a simple text list.Features: Export comments (with timestamps, author, and thread structure) to CSV or JSON. Filter by time range or by author before export. Include reference to the canvas location (e.g., coordinates or object ID) for each comment. Thanks 🤘
