Command + W / Right-clicking and closing works, but would be nice to have a close button similar to other tabs.
I think there should be an easily accessible feature to select similar items that are currently hidden.
When I am working with my employer, we refer to another comment in the file all the time. Most of the time it’s older comments so it would be great to use “#CommentNumber” on a comment and click on that hashtag to quickly jump to that comment. This would greatly improve my workflow and maybe everyone else who communicates with comments.
I keep forgetting that it’s a version history screen and trying to modify the design. I want to receive a notification that if I try to modify the design on the version history screen, it cannot be modified. With these notifications, I will be able to quickly recognize and cope with what is called a version history screen.
Hello, importing TIFF images is only available while using Safari for now, and this is pretty annoying because when you try to import multiples images with some formats not take in charge there is no error message By exemple during my work i imported a database on Figma with .jpg .pdf and .tiff I got an error message only for 1 pdf file, and the others no And few hours later when i finished my work, i just realised that a bunch of files weren’t imported, without i got any error message about it. To resume: Add TIFF support everywhere (Google, Safari, Figma App, etc) Add multiple error messages while importing elements
When I create a typo style, I want to apply a default color to the typo style so I can win some time.
Our org is using Azure DevOps for ticketing, pipelines, allTheThings, etc. You can place a link to a figma file, but you cannot embed rich Figma frames into tickets. This would dominate…as work tickets are used as the source of truth for developers, product, and so on - and having the real up-to-date design asset embedded into the ticket (like Jira) would be of infinite value. Many thanks!
Being able to quickly preview windows from other open files would be really useful when switching between files. It would save time having to fully open each file to see the contents. A suggestion would be to add a shortcut button (like Ctrl+ Tab) that pops up a window previews from all open files. This would let you see an overview of each file without having to fully switch over. You could then click on a preview to open that file. This would be especially helpful for people working on multiple related designs or prototypes at once. Has anyone else found it would speed up their workflow to get a quick glimpse of other open files? Let me know if you have any other thoughts on this idea! I think a preview window feature could help streamline file switching.
Unordered lists have an indentation, but numbered lists don’t. I’ve tried everything to make it work, but can’t. Maybe I’m missing something but would love this to work as expected 🙂
Hello, I would like to suggest an idea: When working with others designer simultaneously, it could be handy to add a poll to a comment / thread and let the others give back preferences when we hesitate over multiple concepts.
Figma prototyping desperately needs some more functionality to keep up. It’s good, don’t get me wrong and we can hack a lot of interactions together. If we just got timeline animation (think Principle) it would have the super powers needed to keep up with framer/origami with 1/4 the effort.
Hi y’all. I was thinking, why do the titles for frames scale when you zoom? If I had the option to set them at a fixed point size, that would be nice. For instance, if I wanted to make all of my frame titles stay at 9, then I could input that option in some settings, and then when zooming in and out of the board, the frame titles would stay the same height. I could turn this option off if I wanted. Thank you for considering!
While prototyping, if you draw a connection to a new frame you get a popup with a bunch of transition options like “on click”, “on drag”, “delay”, etc. It can take a bit of time to set this up for each transition. The problem is, every time I draw a new connection, I have to reselect every choice even if all I want to do is create another transition of the same kind. This makes creating long flows, especially those that rely on delays and have a lot of similar screens, really cumbersome to create. Suggestion: Preserve menu selections for each user per project file, don’t reset the popup menu. For example: User creates a new connection and sets it to Delay (10ms), Smart Animate (Ease Out, 100ms). User creates another connection, it is already set to the same settings so the user doesn’t have to do anything more than draw a new connection. (Delay 10ms, Smart Animate: Ease Out 100ms is already set) Include an option to revert this setting and reset the menu, for those who prefer the orig
On the web, we create components based on font-size by utilising the em unit. A Button’s padding or margin, or maybe even fixed height for example is relative to its font-size. This is not possible in figma at the moment, but an essential paradigm in current modern UI/UX design. Small Elements with a single text line can at least have their height (or vertical padding) be font-size relative, by setting a %-based line-height, but this fails on the horizontal axis, where we have no way of making anything font-size relative. This would be fine to be confined to auto-layout for the start imo. Having more relative units that mimic mediums like the web platform would be great in general, but maybe being able to define spacing/padding as 2em to have it relative to font-size would be a good start. Of course implementing the cascade would be even better, but I think confining font-size relative sizing for certain attributes in components would be enough to start. It would bring figma closer to
I think it would be better to have a dedicated ‘Variables’ panel not just a ‘local variables’ button. Fix: View menu boolean to toggle on/off of variables panel or change ‘local variables’ to just ‘variables’. The variables can be segmented by local/library or by filename using a file tree or drop down within the variables panel or modal.
We use Design System components in Figma. When we hand off frames for development, QA also uses them to verify implementation. As the implementation is happening, we might continue working on the project, making additions or changes to the design. While that happens, some master components might change. As we want to keep the number of files for each project to a minimum, we work on the handoff file on a ‘work in progress’ page. This means that if we update our component library (pull the updates for the design system library) or make changes to any master components used in the file, that will automatically update those components in ‘ready for dev’ frames too. If we detach the components, so that they don’t get updated, then we lose the opportunity to add properties through annotations. So that’s a bummer… It would be awesome if with the ‘ready for dev’ toggle we could also freeze the component updates (meaning prevent them from happening)
Hi, sometimes it would be useful for me in the desktop app when opening a new tab with cmd+t to be able to paste a Figma link in the search bar and open the file with enter. I use the search bar a lot, it’s been a great idea and is awesome when working with a lot of files! ❤️ @Kapil_Moon Alternatively it would be great to have this option to open in desktop app immediately, unfortunately it does not work with multiple accounts. @dvaliao Link Post @Geiras_ES @tank666 @Kyrylex @Hazel Connected Topics: Feature request: insert figma links into desktop app Share an idea When my co-worker sends me a Figma link, I want to open it in the desktop app immediately. Currently I have to click the link, wait until it is opened in the browser and then wait for a suggestion to open the document in the desktop app, which appears in ~30% of cases. Instead, I could copy the link, paste it into the search field of my desktop Figma client and see it opening right i
Quality of Life request. Can Figma’s variant panel be smarter to understand when there’s a nested instance that is toggleable and has been allowed to expose it’s variants? It would greatly help designers find the component in the list as they’re turning them on versus hoping the component creator named both the toggle and layer the same. Example
Add oppotunity to create collections of files (drafts etc)
There are billions people using Android, but we still don’t have any Android frame size or any Android device that is compatible with Material Design 3. Dear Figma please add this feature, that will be really helpful and make Android devs happy. 🙏 🙏 🙏 Another solution could be let user create custom frame sizes and devices and save them on the right sidebar along with the other frames and prototype devices.
I am looking for an additional Prototype Interaction possibility that allows me to Open an Overlay (so far so good) that is not positioned beforehand but will float close to my cursor like a tooltip does. This way you can easily create tooltips in Prototypes that will open an other frame that remains close to your cursor as long as you are hovering the specified element.
When there’re more than 100 items / comments in the Comments List on the right side of the screen, and each Comment has maybe more than 8 replies, it took me long time to go back and find some specific comments. I want to have a search bar on the top of the comments sidebar and find the information more efficient. Thanks!
I usually work on projects with many stakeholders and receive tons of feedback over weeks. Recently, I came across the summarization feature for sticky notes in FigJam, and I thought this feature would be fantastic in Figma! Each week, we receive around 30-40 comments on our files. If we could summarize them by 1) The person who commented (essentially, their overall feedback), 2) Highlighting the frame that received the most comments, and 3) An overview of the general feedback direction. Manually handling this and responding to each comment individually is quite burdensome. I think this will be amazing for Design Crits and Reviews.
The cursors in Figma’s Presentation View are too faint to be able to consistently observe the scrolls/drags and clicks/taps of others. They’re really only visible when the cursor is over darker backgrounds. You can’t see the cursor at all on light backgrounds on mobile devices. (see lower right quadrant in image below) When watching screen recordings made of the Figma app, the problem is much worse – video compression seems to take out the last remaining traces of the light grey they use for cursors. The screenshots above are from a compressed screen recording. We already love using Figma for user research / usability testing, but improving this would seal the deal in our hearts forever. PROPOSAL: Make the cursor more visible and/or allow Figma users to change color / size / etc. via settings and/or CSS
