Thanks for your response! I am totally fine with a new keyboard shortcut, I just was not able to find it documented anywhere visible so I probably wouldn’t have figured this out easily. I also suggest considering adding in a “link” icon in the comments pane next to the “add image” and “add mention” buttons, as outside of the shortcuts there isn’t a visible mechanic of adding a link. This might help newer users who are not familiar with the shortcuts.

When a component has a text property (e.g. Button property “label”) it would be great if when using the button you can set that text property to be a text variable. In the same way you can do so for variants

Provide the ability in prototypes to apply sticky functions to components when auto layout is applied in a prototype. Removing auto layout can make things messy especially when iterating on components that are in the prototype and heights change.

Currently it requires me to select a frame or whatever context and then inserting the component. This is pretty counter intuitive and even after working for years in Figma I can’t adopt it since it’s completely different that any other copy paste mechanism on the internet.

Hello my dear Figma UX team, It’s not an idea, it’s a fucking request. Fix zoom, so it’s possible to see whole page when you review design with whole team. This can be solved buy adding 75% zoom. Add a toggle to display the applied shadow to a component in the auto layout (primarily a nav bar). You currently have to remove the auto layout and move the layer to the top.

Is it possible to share Figma link when is it open overlay steps?

I constantly have to remove the dashed stroke styling that’s applied whenever a variant is created. I want a feature that allows me to disable this.

Would be great to drag an drop the menu items in a prefered specific order. For instance, I would like to move the “Color selection” above “Fill” item in the design panel, so that I don’t have to scroll every time I am selecting another already auto layout-ed element. Or, for a better use, maybe you keep the scroll location when you select another layer so that I don’t have to scroll down to the “Color selection” element.

Hello, in UI3 when I apply a style with Varibles in it, like a text style, in the “Appearence” panel it doesn’t show the icon to select a mode right away. You have to click away, and selecting again the element to make the icon appear, it would be nice to have the icon when you apply the style with variables in it

It would be really helpful to have an always visible button to publish changes to a library and update the changes in another file in stead of having to find it in the menu every time

UI2 had that tiny blue dot to indicate that there are library updates and a convenient button to open the library dialgo to do the updates. Now they are apparetly both gone and I needed them. Please add comparatable functionality to UI3.

Hi, Creating new components, especially creating a component set, is often used. I wonder why, these are not a part of the bottom floating menu bar, and also why there is no shortcut for it… (there is for creating a single component, but not for creating a component set or creating multiple components… at least not in my Figma UI.) As these are features I use a lot, it would be very helpful to have those too in the menu bar, and also have a shortcut for it. Currently, it’s hidden under 3 dots, which makes my user flow very slow. Besides that, it would be a crazy feature to be able to customize your bottom menu bar, and rather use it as a quick menu bar personalized to each user’s workflow. Like you can change the menu bar on your MacBook or any laptop. Greetings, Olivier

New design has a semi opaque effect on the app bar so sometimes appear like a gradient. Very fancy, very distracting.

Hi everyone When i’m using variable box, this box have flexible height. If i select a variable category with much variable, this box resize to max size and after that when i want to click on another category with less variable, suddenly box resize to min height and this height change is annoying. Please make fix variable box height and give resize option. Thanks

I am making components that change form by using local variables. I would like to use the “simplify instances” selection in the master component to make it nead and usable for others, but it hides by default the local variable modes from the instances. This is counterintuitive and unpractical in my opinion. In general i’d like to see the modes more prominent, just like the properties. (Also, right now the properties and variables are kind of an inconsistent split system of basically similar functions, and i’d like to see them more unified.)

Would love to have the eyedropper preview follow the cursor in some fashion. Procreate does this where the color that will be chosen shows at the top.

The tool bar is taking up so much space. I know there’s already a request to enable users from moving/reposition the tool bar. Now that we can hide the layers panel, how about hiding/minimizing the tool bar and properties panel too? It could be as simple collapse panel or a mini widget that we can customized on our most used feature.

Allow Annotations and Measurements made in DevMode on a Main Component in a Library file to be viewed wherever instances of that component appear. If the instance has overrides applied, the annotations should persist but update to reflect the current property values. If the instance is detached and “Compare to Main Component” is selected, annotations should highlight deviations from the Main Component.

Hi everyone, Like many of you, I often have a dozen tabs open—some are libraries, others are work files. With the latest update, it’s become incredibly difficult to distinguish between the two. It would be great if we could identify libraries at a glance. Right now, everything is grey, and I have to search for a specific icon to tell them apart. Thank you.

I use Space Bar + Left Mouse Drag to navigate in the document fairly often. I end up accidentally dragging comments really easily from their original place. You can’t undo comment movement, and it is sometimes challenging to find where the comment originally was. Can we get some more precision required to move a comment, or a way to undo moving a comment?

The new Figma seems to not process percentages on sizing, compared to the older version. Video shows me adding auto layout to two items, overlaying one item and setting the width as a 50% width, which it cannot process. Switching back to the old Figma I can simply change the percentage there and it works fine.

The sensitivity of scaling in the new version of Figma art board is too high and not user-friendly. It is recommended to adjust it

When I share a Slide link, I’d like it to open with the left side nav shown by default. Then if someone wants they can go into full-screen mode. Opening links in full-screen presentation mode by default makes it hard to hop around a deck quickly.

The increased size of text, toggles, and lack of color (white text now gray) makes the component property panel rather hard to read and use. Suggest at the minimum - make the property group titles “white” for better legibility/contrast.
