UI3 – Assets search got worse

Hello Figma!

The new UI3 component search is not good.

When I use the actions/assets/plugins search, the vast majority of times is to find components (e.g. button, logo, input field, …).

Now, when I search for e.g. “button” the first option is “Compute published statuses of soft deleted components”… The second is “Republish autolayout components”… seriously? 😃

There’s no button components I can immediately drag into the canvas. I have to manually click onto “Assets”.

Please make it so that either the “All” tab is smarter in suggesting assets, or default me to “Assets”.

I fully agree. When you put on top having more then 1 Library pulled in with quite a view Comps it’s a hassle to find the correct component. You have to select every time “Assets” then “See more” then select “appropriate Library” from dropdown. It is an ingredient for RSI.

@figma can we have an advanced option in settings to save our preferred view?

I agree that this new update needs help. It would be nice to have a preferred view as Raymond stated above.

Latest update is even another step back. No Dropdown to select a “Library” now. You have to completely rely on provided search and read every tile to which Library a comp belongs. I’m not going to giving up on UI3 though 😉
