Currently, when layout guides are added to a component, they also appear in all instances of that component across the design file. This causes significant visual clutter especially in high-fidelity UI screens where the focus should be on the content and layout, not the guide structure used during component creation. We’d like to suggest that layout guides be visible only in the source component, and not inherited by its instances.
I’d like to suggest a small but powerful improvement to the layout guides workflow in Figma: an option to delete all layout guides at once from a frame or page. Currently, users must manually remove guides one by one, which becomes tedious and time consuming especially when working with complex layouts or multiple frames. A single-click option to “Clear All Layout Guides” (similar to how rulers or grids can be toggled) would significantly speed up workflows and improve usability.
Hi Figma community. I would like to know if any of you uses a way to make changelogs automatically that update once there has been a change in the components (in our design system library) and that it can detect the type of change that has been done, the name of the component, date.If you know any plugin that can work for this please let me know!
i know this has been posted before, but Figma really needs to address this issue. pasting an email address should not just format the existing text as a link with the new text as a destination. when creating prototypes with lots of dummy accounts, or even with real data, copying and pasting lots of emails becomes the hardest part of my day, and there are no key shortcuts either. i have to copy, then right click, paste to replace. or “copy as text.” it’s obnoxious, and frankly i don’t think anyone using Figma has ever needed a functional email link for a prototype, it’s not like we’re creating live products where someone might actually click the email link to send an email. please fix this Figma, it’s infuriating and breaks the flow of creating prototypes. When basically every prototype i create for work requires a list of users and their contact information, it becomes a daily problem which destroys efficiency. at the very least, allow us to paste them without formatting using cmd+shif
Hello,Our team is using the new annotations feature for category, and something that would be nice as a feature add is the ability to toggle showing and hiding annotations based on category. This would enable content team members to toggle just content annotations and dev teams to toggle dev and accessibility, etc. maybe somewhere in this panelAnother item of discussion is if Figma allows plugin creators to access annotations. There are a lot of really great plugins out there for annotating automatically. Envinced has a really nice one for example called Design Assistant. This tool will scan the page and then add annotations through their plugin, but as new frames on your page. Some large workflows might have hundreds of screens, so the more and more frames and such added isn’t the most valuable. Having a way for plugin creators to access annotations where their automation would apply them there instead of as frames would be really great. Thanks!-Amber
As far, Figma make can be used in a Figma site page to make code-real sections, elements and interactions, but if it’s applied over a component coming from a design system (in a figma design file or in the figma side file) it overrides any component micro interaction making it hard to use it as a combo. For instance, I have a button CTA with a set of variants for the states: default, hover, focus, selected, loading, disabled. If I use this component in a Figma site (website-test) and click over it > go to Make icon-button and ask to include an interaction “when clicking on it download ‘X’ PDF file the component then loses all micro interactions (e.g., hover state)It seems something quite vanilla but the fact is, Make can help creating micro interactions Figma doesn’t have yet such as “download ‘x’ when clicking, or scroll to ‘x’ section of the page… and if it overrides components micro interactions (change variant to) it doesn’t have any sense for us to use it at all.Would be nice to
My eyesight isn’t terrible, I do wear glasses, but the annotations text is too small and makes reading it quite difficult. Perhaps allow for setting the annotations text size in a user’s own seat account? Also, why on earth are annotations hidden behind a paywall? This is crazy. I can’t use them with my clients so I have to use my own annotations library instead which is obviously less convenient. Ta!
Can we look into a feature where you allow the users to mirror a particular screen in full screen mode.As I am using a different monitor to extend my poreview windows, I would like top click on the desired frames and display to quickly on my extended desktop monitor. Likewise it alllows me to preview my ongoing design in real time. This is just a suggestion, if you guys can implement this.
Hi everyone,Today I discovered that in Prototype Action > Overlay, you can manually move a component and have it always positioned relative to the main component. This is super useful for dropdowns, context menus, and displaying their respective lists. My problem/Feature Request:The prototype works great, but my components live in a design system and are published for other designers to use.In this example, if a designer insert an Instance of the ContextMenu component into their file, there’s no way to access or override the properties of the list (MenuList). Is there a way to do this that I just don't know about? Or would it make sense to offer every overlay component (MenuList) as an exposed component within the main component (ContextMenu)? What do you think? The red stroked container show my suggestion
Seems like now Figma “find and replace” feature doesn’t include embeded links. It’ll be very helpful if you can include links too, by providing “links” filter option. Please, add it. Thank you.
I need to be able to manage who can comment in the Figma file. I am currently unable to remove comment access from a user who abuses them, causing my email to be peppered with email notifications and Figma files to be constantly over commented with non-design notes. Please add removing comment access as a user-level permission option.
I'm trying to make an invoice template for our FoF community, and noticed that the print sizes available in Figma Buzz are kinda lacking. We already have non-US specific print assets defined as Frame presets in Figma Design, can those be ported into Figma Buzz as well?
Hi Figma team😗, There's one major limitation that continues to slow things down and limits the creative workflow of designers: the inability to paste or add custom content directly inside a component instance unless every possible content area is pre-defined with slots. It would be incredibly helpful to have a feature like a "Freeform Slot" or "Smart Slot" — a flexible area within a component that allows us to insert or paste content without having to set up slots in advance. This would drastically reduce the need for overly complex component structures and make prototyping much more fluid, especially when dealing with layouts that need occasional overrides or additions. The current limitations make it harder to work fast and keep components modular and scalable. A more dynamic, open content area inside components would give designers the best of both worlds: consistency and flexibility. Thanks again for all the great work! I hope this one makes the roadmap!
Figma make is only available to pro users common figa atleast give us a free trial! : (
Has anyone found a way to have a color variable for bulk create in Figma Buzz? For example, I have an ad. I want to make 5 variations with different background images. I also want each ad to have a different font and button color. Do we think there will be an update down the road to make these edits in the google sheet for bulk create or will it need to be done manually after creation? Am I missing something? Thanks!
Hi Figma,Could the right panel stay fixed when the left panel is hidden? I'm not sure why it switches from fixed to floating. Also, when I zoom in on an element with the left panel hidden, parts of its area gets hidden behind the floating right panel. Is that the expected behavior?I've attached a video below to add more context.
I want to be able to have an effect that throws an reflection of the object/group and want to be able to customize it with “3d” effects, blur and gradial decay. the same is for shadows, i want to be able to have multiple types of shadows. This would be usefull in a lot of places, like slideshows, animations, presentations, and generally. (a plugin does not work as a replacement of any kind.)
when looking at a project/folder of files in Figma it’d be awesome if there was a local search/find/filter to narrow down the list of files in this project/folder (not a global search) by typing a few characters. Today ⌘f does not start a global search so maybe that keyboard shortcut could be used for this? another idea: when you start a global search while looking at a project/folder, automatically apply the `in:` filter for the project/folder you're currently viewing Why: I know a file exists in this project/folder I’m currently looking at but it might be buried really deep (if filtered by “Last modified”, which is the default sort option) and global search may not find it immediately (since it only lists the top 5 file results and then you need to the “see all results”). The currently viewed project/folder does not seem to influence/prioritize the search. There was a similar idea shared as a comment by Miguel Solorio to borrow GitHub’s “in this repo” filter during a global search.
The color picker at the top-right of the Highlighter menu doesn’t appear to work. Clicking on it doesn’t open the color palette. Works with the pencil tool.
Currently polls require being logged into a Figma account. There’s no way to present with Figma Slides to a large audience and use the polls feature with anonymous people such as giving a talk for a group mentorship session on ADPList. I’d like to see an option to allow anonymous voting and an option to show a QR code for people to quickly vote on their phones while viewing a presentation you are giving.
With the latest update in May 2025, the new Grid tool is a fantastic addition — thank you so much for constantly improving the product!I’d love to suggest one enhancement: please consider adding an option to size rows and columns based on their content, similar to how “Hug contents” works in Auto Layout. This feature would be extremely helpful when designing tables, photo galleries, and many other layout types. Thanks again for your great work!
当前的figjam里的表格太丑了,宽高比很难调,也没办法合并单元格,现在自己用矩形拼装起来的
Scale is one of my most used properties when designing interactions and states. It would be great if we had true ‘scale’ as a property. No, I’m not talking about the scale tool. That’s fake scale that affects the width/height of elements. I want the ability to enter something like ‘1.5’ and change the scale of an element, respectively.
I use branching to update the component library. Because we are adjusting multiple components simultaneously, and some take longer to design or there are simply longer breaks (holidays, prioritization, etc.), it could be very painful to merge changes from the main file to the branch. Especially when the changes are not all loaded at the same time. Now, I have to click on one conflict, wait x minutes to load another, select it, wait again, etc. This process is highly ineffective and consumes a large amount of time. It’s even worse when, after 1 hour of checking the file and resolving conflicts, I receive a message saying that the merge failed. What I propose is to load all the conflicts in one go - even if it takes a longer time - and be able after to go through changes afterward without lagging. Ideally the progress bar would show approximate time or percentage. The ‘Resolve all’ button is not helpful because I want to keep some changes from the branch.
