Connect or embed FigJam files with Figma files

Came here to say just that!!

In a given project a FigJam file is very helpful to collate research wires and complex user journey (that’s how I image it at least).
Could either be a page or file inside the project✌️

It also helps to consolidate everything in Figma since it kind-of replace Miro!

We love FigJams. Especially when involving the rest of the business in workshops, retros, and getting copy in situ. But we like to keep all our research, user flows, playgrounds, and specs in one file.

It would be awesome to have the option of new pages being FigJams!

I mostly use FigJam to make diagrams related to UI I’m working on in a Figma file (user flows, organizing dependencies, matching ideas to goals - you know, whiteboard stuff). That means I’m constantly going back and forth between working on the diagram and working on the UI. However, since Jams are a different file I’m now working on a single idea in two places, which is clunky and frustrating. I end up copying things to a file where I can use the most appropriate interface, and manually syncing between those files.
FigJams being their own files also makes managing all files even more complicated. I have a hard enough time organizing normal files, having a new type of file makes finding anything more difficult.

In my mind, the FigJam product is the interface, not the new file. I would vastly prefer to be able to switch between the interfaces on the same page. Not different pages in the same file - I want to be looking at one canvas when I’m working one feature.
If I’m working on a painting, I’ll outline it in pencil, then paint over it - but I don’t change rooms to do that, I just change the tool.

This thread has been so helpful in helping us learn more about how we can better connect Figma & FigJam. First of all thanks for that FigJam functionality for now it rocks!
that’s why I give you this feedback / feature request

In how Figma is structure, we tend to have more and more design files, and now more and more Fijam file. It’s getting a bit messy to find a content of interest.

Ibn practice we often have the need to have the design file for the wireframe, design. etc… and the fijam for the flow, worhsop associated to the same projects.
Wich result to have 3-4 files related to 1 topic.

So here my question Request 😉
Would it be possible to have in a design file a specific page that allow to use figjam. So the team would have in 1 central file, Flow and working document even Retrospectives and the Design living together?

You could contain all the research, user flows, documentation, etc. AND the design all in one file as separate pages. This would allow for a neatly packaged deliverable and would also show the evolution of whatever you’re working on from start to finish.

I’m using FIGJAM to do ideation sessions and using the design file to make prototypes and felt the need to have a FIGJAM file associated/linked to a Design file to easily find. So I’ll do like to suggest it 🙂

Although I see the reason for them being separate files. Managing permission would be a nightmare.

I simply need to be able to reference a FigJam file in a design file. So when it comes review, handoff and even archiving we can link the relevant FigJam sessions, like storyboarding, user flows, brainstorming, etc. etc.

This is my #1 most wanted FigJam feature

This should just be the same app. a Switch to FigJam Mode… or just advanced embedding between the two are in dire need. Have a look at Miro which has superior figma integration and so many other features that FigJam needs.

Figma itself still needs border left / right /. top / bottom and a myriad of other features as well.
