Applying a number variable objects with constrained proportions

Applying a number variable to the width/height of an object with constrained proportions distorts the object, as it only overrides the one number but doesn’t update the proportions of the object. A common instance is when applying a variable to the size of an icon, it will distort the size until the variable is also applied to the other height/width.

Expected default behavior would be that when I apply a variable to the width/height of an object with constrained proportions, it resizes the corresponding shape based off the number of the variable just as if I typed the number in manually.

Having exact the same issue! Variables do not work as expected.

Here is the video showing the applied value from variables to the icon will not remain. As soon as you click away and click again on the icon the action will be revoked, the icon will be automatically resized to the original size and the measures will be mixed up.
