Please include a method in which we can hide the help function in Figma make - it is taking up space in the footer I am designing and users cannot see these icons during testing. The shortcut for hiding the help UI or ‘hiding help UI’ in other Figma files does not apply to the Figma Make files
Hi everyone, As you know, being able to add negative padding is a must when creating design systems. However Figma only allow negative values in the inner-spacing between elements in auto-layout. We found a workaround and thought it would be useful to share it with the community. If you define a local variable, type number, and add a negative value (e.g. -4px), you can then apply this variable to the auto-layout padding and it will work. In summary: use local variables to define negative values and apply such variable to the padding.
We are currently using Figma Make to make prototypes during product discovery stage, but Make being available only on Full seat prevents product managers, who are on Collab seats, using it. We don’t want to give full access to product managers just to make small edits, and Collab seat have already a set amount of AI credits. Why can’t Collab seats can’t make edits on Make prototypes?
It’s really hard to do a screen recording in Figma while comparing with Adobe XD. Anyone have a solution for this?
I’m a daily Figma user working on large design files, and I’ve been experiencing a consistent workflow interruption caused by the current focus behavior.Whenever I click on panels such as Layers, Assets, or the Properties panel, the canvas loses interaction focus. To continue working (move objects, pan, zoom, etc.), I have to click back on the canvas each time.In fast-paced design workflows, this creates repetitive extra clicks and slows navigation significantly. It would be extremely helpful to have an optional setting that allows: • keeping the canvas interaction active, or• automatically returning focus to the canvas after selecting a layer or propertyThis would make multi-panel workflows much smoother and improve efficiency for power users working on complex files.Thank you for the amazing product and for continuously improving the experience.
As a designer I would like to record my prototype screen or export it as a gif so I can use it in presentations and send quick examples in the team group. It would be great to have the same feature then Principle to record or export the prototype to gif. Does anyone have the same need? Is anyone using a plugin or workaround to help solve this?
This problem is frustrating me every time I try to open a project folder. If a project folder has less than 4 files in it, it’s very often easy to click the blue plus sign that appears which creates a new blank file, when in reality I’m just trying to open the project folder. I end up unnecessarily wasting time creating and deleting empty files.
Maybe I missed it but I can’t seem to add a (URL) link to a object in Figma Slides, would be nice. I can do with workarounds for now.
Hello, im working on a reading of overlays interaction from the Rest Api but im not able to get the background-color/Position of it (see the picture first picture) It’s also unavailable on dev mod : We can cleary see the animation, duration etc but not the background/position...Am I missing something like it’s available somewhere? Or maybe is it a bug? But I can’t figure where to get this datas beside using a Plugin, and my goal is to mot use a plugin at allhere are the only datas I can get : { "trigger": { "type": "ON_CLICK" }, "actions": [ { "type": "NODE", "navigation": "OVERLAY", "transition": { "type": "DISSOLVE",
I signed up to view someone else’s work. I immediately unchecked the box called “Send me occasional emails…”. Weeks later, I am still receiving blog-type emails with no unsubscribe link. There’s no result for unsubscribe when I search your site. When I tried to send a message to support about it (while not logged in), I got an error submitting the message. So I logged in again to check my settings, and at the bottom of the page it says I can unsubscribe at any time - but there’s no link to say how. Y’all know this is illegal, right? Kindly do better.
I would be a time saver to be able to define a default color (it currently is 000000) for new typography elements. I never design with pure black. if I could use a variable color as my type color, when I create a new text area, it could automatically have the dark variable value. Print software, such as illustrator lets us define a black. you should too.
Is there a way to better organize prototype sections in Figma, similar to how we organize pages? I’m asking because I’m working on a project where having some kind of “breathing space” between navigable flows would be very helpful. For now, I created a frame to segment things, but I’d like to know if there’s a more appropriate solution.
Do Figma “line-height” variables support percentages or proportional values?I tried setting number variables like 1 or 1.2 to use as line-height ratios, but it doesn’t seem to work as expected. Is there a workaround or recommended method for this?I’m honestly surprised that such a fundamental feature might be missing. I keep thinking I must be overlooking something rather than it not existing.
Hi,I’ve noticed something about the “Follow” feature that’s been bothering me a bit. When someone follows me in Figma, there isn’t a clear or persistent indicator on my side that I’m being followed. I can’t really tell who is following me, when they start, or if someone is currently viewing my screen. That lack of visibility feels uncomfortable, especially in team environments. I might be navigating early drafts, messy explorations, internal notes, or sensitive frames without realizing someone is actively watching. It’s not necessarily about hiding anything — it’s more about awareness and transparency. From a workflow perspective, it can also be disruptive. If someone is following me for a review or to understand something specific, I might switch contexts or move too quickly without knowing they’re there. In larger teams or companies, this could even raise minor security or compliance concerns, since work-in-progress or confidential material might be viewed unintentionally.I think it woul
As per this discussion - How to disable 'observe' mode - #5 by Dave2 - I think it would be useful to be able to turn off ‘observe mode’. It is very annoying being watched while I work, unless I specifically am trying to share/demonstrate something. It is the digital version of someone looking over your shoulder. I dont want to have to remove people’s permissions from the file just to stop them digitally stalking me.
Please check the video attachment to see how Xara handles the color tweaking; it would be great if Figma implemented something like this.I have found couple of plugins that enable similar function, but unfortunatelly its not the same.Plugins:Perceptual Colori Color Adjustments Like PhotoShopPerceptual Colorizer
Just like driving width and height, I want to dynamically position elements in weird ways too. But not weird like this:
Okay so I've found 2 things that are pretty annoying when dealing with the client-facing side of designing. 1. I typically only share prototype links with clients to give proper feedback. I don't like giving them back-end access to the files because they're usually messy, but I can if I prep a new file. So, I've noticed that when I comment on the design file from the backend version, yes it does show on the prototype side but the client receives an email saying I've tagged them in a comment with a link to said comment. When they click this link to go to the comment, they're redirected to gain access to the backend rather than the prototype side. This is extremely frustrating. I (and my team) should be back to comment from the backend with it feeding through to the prototype properly. 2. It would be amazing to be able to stop allowing comments on prototypes. When we have a creative that has been signed off, being able to stop allowing comments means that this is the final version and th
STOP CHANGING THE UX LAYOUT!!! I just got used to the new UX after a forced update a few month ago and now the crop button disappeared!
The default UI font-size is really small (icons are mostly okay), They so small that I can hardly read the comments and the page/layer names in the panels (maybe I’m a little old or my laptop is more zoomed out) but it would be great if they are some user-friendly feature for people with weaker eye power like things like thicker guide lines and zoom in on words similar to PSD preference UI font sizeLike OMG how to read this? Japanese/chinese text are so small it is hardly readable on characters with more strokes
Teams would like the ability to archive branches that have been merged in their own time instead of them automatically being archived and having to view them in the history tab. They’d like the designers to choose when to archive those branches. Teams want to be able to see a history of merged branches and actually see them, but not necessarily restore to that branch. We’d like this to be an option to turn on per project or in admin settings. Thanks!
Having a “reset scroll position” like what Figma Design has is a must. Currently, when I scroll a frame inside a slide and then I proceed to the next slide in my deck, the scroll location is maintained, and as a result my next slide is already scrolled to a position I did not need it to be.
Is there any possible reason for this other than value extraction? 5 Templates, or pay more than 2x more than you are now.
Ctrl + tab should switch between most recent tabs rather than switching between tabs sequentially.
For the LOVE OF GOD. STOP UPDATING THE FIGMA UI. I'm trying to finish my work, NOT waste time understanding what each update has done to my tools and HOW TO USE THEM FROM NOW ON. Jesus Christ. Stop forcing us to update to a shittier version each time. Can you just let us have what we already figured out? LEAVE WELL ENOUGH ALONE.
