The remote Figma MCP server (https://mcp.figma.com/mcp) can only be authenticated with the OAuth browser flow. That makes the connection only as durable as the MCP client's token store, and in practice it breaks often.Concretely: my client (Claude Code on macOS) keeps MCP OAuth grants inside the same credential item as its own account login. Every time I log out of that client and log back in — or switch between two accounts, which I do routinely — the Figma grant is discarded and I have to run the browser authorization again. This happened again today, 2026-08-30.The Figma token itself was nowhere near expiry when this happened. At the moment I was forced to re-authorize, the stored Figma access token still had about 2,160 hours (roughly 90 days) of life left, and a refresh token alongside it. PROBLEM: Currently, if you and a user outside of your team both have paid Figma accounts, and you need the other person to be able to edit your file, you need to pay for A THIRD account. i.e. For TWO freelancers to edit the same Figma file, you need to pay for THREE Figma accounts. This is clearly a terrible customer service experience and I suspect it’s a common issue as you’ll see from Figma’s own Product Support team response below. SOLUTION: The ideal workaround would be to offer free editing when both accounts are paid. Alternatively, if it’s an expensive service to provide, it seems reasonable for Figma to charge a clear fee (e.g. Editing collaboration: $2 per file per month, or $5 per project per month). But why force us to do acrobatics with our fingers by holding down an additional button, just to move the object? Why not provide an option to disable that functionality completely? I need a centered headline over a justified paragraph whose last line is also centered. That is three text layers. Headline layer (center). Body layer (justify — last line glued left, because that is the only justify Figma has). Last-line layer (center), copy split by hand so it doesn’t reflow. In InDesign that is one frame: alignment plus last-line alignment. Here it is a collage.You can mix fonts, sizes, weights, and colors inside one text layer. Alignment is the thing that’s stuck. One layer, one horizontal alignment for every line. No last-line center / right / force-justify. No “this run is centered, this run is justified” in the same layer. A headline, a body paragraph, and a centered closer cannot share one text layer if they need different alignments.That is not how sites or product UI work. One card or article column routinely mixes alignments in a single content container. In Figma that means extra layers, manual line breaks, and a layout that dies when the copy changes.Still

I was waiting half a day to get access within Figma to a file… and I saw I had 3 emails telling me to accept access OMFG WHY!?What for? I used to work with Figma Enterprise and there was no “acceptance” if you asked to edit… it just turned on to be edited voila… And what’s with the time of waiting for actually getting access after the person agrees on the other side?

There have been many times where I’m trying to compare the color values between two or more objects. However, every time I select another object the color panel disappears so I have to click on the swatch again and try to remember the values from the previous object. Sometimes I’ll just take a screenshot of the color picker values and paste them back into Figma but that’s not fun at all. One possible solution would be to make the color picker remain visible if the user ‘unpins’ it (ie. drags it away from the right panel). Then they could select the next object to see the color values and then close the picker when they’re done.

In the past week there has been a noticeable change in the results.It seems to be good for analyzing and giving feedback but something has changed on the design part.It’s able to create new designs based on references, but when I try to get it to create something like marketing images of existing designs, it tries to redesign the screens and replace existing images with AI images. 

Did Figma do a rug-pull with Agents recently? (< 2 weeks) Previously, with the exact same level of detail and instructions in prompts, I was singing Agents praises. This week it won’t follow simple instructions and each time admits it’s not paying close enough attention. Did Figma make a conscientious decision to downgrade underlying LLM?Based on recent utility, I’m better off doing it all myself. Not even out of Beta yet and already garbage.

Is it possible to allow the overlaid material to follow the rules in a frame.e.g when I use an overlay in a frame when I scroll it overlays even over a Sticky top header.Meaning the overlaid material breaks position rule. Please can you make an option for it to follow position or have it overlay over all content on the screen.

I’m trying to recreate the structure of our Text Field web component with slots. I would prefer the Figma slots to behave similar to the <slot> element in that they wouldn’t reserve space until there is content in them.Currently I can work around this by adding a boolean property that controls visibility of each slot but this adds clutter to the property controls.In the properties panel slot contents are described as “Default” or “Modified”. Having a third state “Empty” that also hides the slot from Auto Layout would solve both for me.

Hi Figma team,I'd love to see sorting preferences persist across sessions in the Projects view. Currently, every time I navigate into a project and return to the home screen, the sort order resets to default.Our team numbers all projects (01, 02, 03…) to maintain a clear workflow overview. Having to manually re-apply alphabetical sorting every single time is a small but repetitive friction point that interrupts the flow.It would be great if Figma could remember the last used sort order, ideally per user or workspace. I started to try using agents to help find some holes in the my designn system but I asked it to make a simple one variable change and it disconnected everything variable in my whol design system. Losing hours and work. It could not fix the problem. I will not be using figma agents again. Has this happened to anyone else??

Figma can generate UI from a prompt, ship a website, and animate half a marketing site before lunch. It still cannot lock a ruler guide.That is not a niche request. That is table stakes. My team has encountered some issues working with non-designers that would be really helpful to fix if Slides and Buzz had a few more features they could access. Listing below the features that I think should exist in both Design mode and Slides/Buzz mode: Layers Panel Our users have trouble navigating auto layouts we create, especially when there are multiple nested within each other or within a group. Figma newbie here, Say I’m designing an iPhone app, and I know that with my specific display, around 80% zoom level in Figma is the right size compared to the physical size of the phone. While working, I’ll zoom in and out without much care for exactness, but every now and then I’d like to jump to the precise value of 80% zoom to check the text sizes and whatnot. The only way I know of doing this is clicking the zoom input in the top-right corner, typing in 80 and then Return. Not exactly terrible, but still annoying if repeated dozens or hundreds of times a day. Is there a way to create a shortcut for custom zoom levels? If not, any other alternatives?

Currently, in Figma, smart animate only works on opacity, color fill, stroke, position, width&height. The options at your disposal when making an interactive prototype are pretty limited. It would come in handy if Figma can expand the supported animatable properties to include: Radius, Effects (shadow spread), VectorNetwork, Polygon Ratio, Ellipse Sweep, Dash, etc.

Hi,I’ve seen this topic mentioned before, but I’d like to propose a more specific feature request for slide layers.It would be very helpful to have selected auto layout options available directly on the slide layer itself, not only within frames placed on top of it. Since slides need to maintain consistent dimensions across the entire presentation, options like “Hug contents” likely wouldn’t apply here and could be excluded.However, enabling flow direction (vertical or horizontal) and potentially grid layout at the slide level would significantly improve layout flexibility. It would allow designers to structure content directly on the slide, without the need to introduce an additional frame solely to activate auto layout across the full slide area.This would streamline workflows and reduce unnecessary nesting, especially for simpler slide compositions.Thanks!  

Hello, it would be nice to have the option to insert floating components inside text (like Emojis). Use case would be for signs or infos in complex dashboards. Its a hustle to do this now manually and also set kind of boundingboxes to sync different heighs of text and component. Regards

Hi,The addition of annotations and measurements to Design mode is such a great decision.However this is rendered almost useless if the annotations and measurements can’t be made visible to View Seat users.Often annotations are used for communication with a range of stakeholders, not just designers and developers. It’s not viable to upgrade every stakeholder to a Full or Dev seat to engage with this content.

I want to make a prototype where something changes when user scrolls content. I want to keyboard collapse when user starts scrolling content, but it’s impossible to do with drag action. Or it feels unnatural Or am I missing a way to do it with existing tools?

I've been really enjoying the new Motion features in Figma. The experience feels intuitive, and creating animations has become much faster and more enjoyable. Even in its current state, Motion shows a lot of potential, and I'm excited to see how it evolves.While testing, I came across a few areas that could significantly improve the workflow: Nested Layers in the Timeline When working with nested layers, child layers currently appear individually in the timeline alongside their parent layer. This can make the timeline cluttered and difficult to manage. It would be helpful if the timeline supported nesting similar to the Layers panel, with expandable and collapsible groups. Dedicated Clipping Mask Workflow Motion currently lacks dedicated clipping mask support. A masking workflow similar to After Effects would make it much easier to create and animate reveals, transitions, and other advanced motion effects without relying on workarounds.
