So I recently started using Figma and I generally love it.However a few things are starting to feel annoying and clunky, especially because I am used to something better.Technical Context:- Browser (Firefox) on PCTry using miro.com because the do a few things very well:Right-click & hold => Moving around. No need to switch the mouse mode just to move around. (Yes there is the middle mouse button but the usability of that is highly dependent on the mouse model and most mouses I used till now have a good scroll functionality but not middle mouse click, let alone holding the click. Resizing Text: In miro there is a redundancy where you can resize the font-size by resizing the box the text is in automatically. Now I have to click select the text box and have to find the small font-size option and try out various sizes till I am finally satisfied. Also the typography settings are like low on the list of settings. I would switch them with position because I do Positioning with the mou

I have a few SVG shapes as part of the branding for a project I am working on. I’m in the process of building out a component library and for the primary CTAs, one of the shapes will be the background for the CTA. That white background would typically be a solid fill with border radius, and using Auto Layout would be able to grow and shrink based on the label overrides per instance. However, I am unable to get an SVG working as the frame’s fill. It does allow me to “Choose image” and select the SVG but it never displays. From the docs, there is no mention of using SVG for this, as opposed to PNG, JPG, etc, and I don’t see why we can’t use an SVG as a fill.

Currently, if I try to use a vector image as a fill, Figma tells me that it can’t use vector images as fills. Can that be changed?

I’ve noticed Figma adding absolute positioning to certain elements in an autolayout frame automatically. This is unexpected, unpredictable and simply annoying behavior. Adding several more steps to creating a simple autolayout. Most autolayout frames don’t have an absolute positioned element. So it would be best to leave this button as a manual toggle. I’d be happy if we could turn this behavior off via a user-setting. Vote for the feature request if you agree!

As a user, make it easy for me to duplicate a file, and bring my chat with me, so that I can version control a “stable build”, but I can make variations for presentations. I would love a tabbed view where, based on the parent build, I can make versions with variations so that engineers and founders can help me pivot directions, and only merge back certain components to the parent file.

Please add search and filter in Library Analytics. As a design systems manager overseeing multiple consumer and business-facing products, navigating hundreds of variables, styles, and components without these features is challenging. Adding search and filter functionality would greatly improve efficiency and save time for users like me.

As a design systems manager, I would like to be able to exclude branches while reviewing library analytics for component, style, and variable usage so that I can find and update the main files that are dependent on my design system.Use case: I am currently trying to deprecate an older version of a library using Library Swap. The easiest way for me to do this is to use Library Analytics to find all files on my team that use the library’s components or styles. However, branches also show in this list, and I can’t see that the file is a branch or what file it is branched off. I would like to be able to filter branches out, since they will get the update from the main file anyway, without having to click in and open each file to find out it is a branch.

Hey, i face a bug since there has been an update on the preserve scroll position behavior yesterday. By now the former preserve scroll position, which i had to set manually before is now set as default. So i don’t need to tick the box anymore. But, in my protoype, although i expect now that the scroll position is preserved by default, it is not working correctly. From screen to screen my prototype is jumping to the top. I need to ship my proto today to the client and this is super annoying. Anyone faces the same issue since yesterday? @Figma_Support can you roll back the feature? 🙏

Please release an official version for the LINUX operating system because the version on github is unstable and outdated. Please think of your Linux users.

Currently, only Preview and Code edit modes are visible. Are additional editing modes accessible?

When I’m in the Figma desktop app, there’s no way (that I know of) for opening a file by URL. My only option is to paste the link into Chrome, and have Chrome bounce me back to the Figma app. I would love to see a feature in the Figma desktop app that lets me paste a Figma link and open the file without needing to use Chrome at all.

Opening a file is CMD + O. Make opening a file from a link CMD + SHIFT + O. I use the desktop app so I’m usually copying a link and having to navigate up to the top of my large 34" monitor to open from clipboard. There’s a shortcut for opening a file which I have done maybe once in 5 years. It seems like a pretty logical next step to just have cmd + shift + O be the operator to open a file a different way. Adding the shift will also reduce accidental launches. Also, waiting for Chrome to load it and then clicking open in app isn’t an ideal option for me. I use Arc and a Chrome App for Meet so links from slack open in Arc and links from Meet open in Chrome and it becomes a navigation nightmare.

Hello! I’m taking a course that just touched on community content. I use a large secondary monitor and, on the Figma app, the “Explore Community” button - currently at the bottom left of the window, is not where I would intuitively look to find it (nor is it anywhere near where the instructor’s version from years ago shows it). I suggest moving it back to the upper left area of the window, closer to the recents/“Your Teams” options reside.

When I manually type or paste a color code, if that color already exists in my library, it would be great if the library’s color name automatically replaced the code. 

Please make Zoom zero-in on the selected objects; most apps do this. It would save zooming in on, and then panning to re-locate your work.

You have the hand tool icon in the toolbox in View mode, please also have it in Edit mode. It is a great comfort when you want to navigate and review, but be sure not to inadvertently edit, any work.

It’s the year 2023, and Figma still doesn’t have native table support. I just spent 30 minutes re-jigging all the “cells” in a four-row, six-column fake table because I had to delete one column, add another, add icons, and then manually re-fit/resize all the cells to get things to align properly. I can either fake a table row with a horizontal autolayout, or fake a table column with a vertical autolayout, but it’s still not a table. I want the ability to create a special frame called a Table, that: has an arbitrary number of columns and rows auto-resizes columns evenly based on content width has one or more Header / footer rows can scroll with overflow content (optional) has optional properties for hover / click states (cell, column or row) has optional properties for alternate-line shading can toggle columns or rows to hide as needed can merge or split cells as needed can set text alignment for a column (center, left, right, or currency / decimal) can set to automatically use monospa

Hey Figma Team! I'm a huge fan and use Figma for everything, but I have to say, the absence of a text threading feature is a real workflow killer! Trying to create multi-page documents is a constant struggle of manually cutting and pasting text, which feels so clunky compared to the seamless power of Auto-Layout. It's like having a supercar but being forced to fill it up with a teaspoon. Being able to link text boxes would be a massive game-changer, making long-form document creation a breeze and solidifying Figma as the ultimate design tool. This feels like such a fundamental feature, and I know the design community would be thrilled to see it happen!

No brainer. I’ve either had to ask clients to record a loom of themselves going through a Make prototype or me having to screenshot EVERY SINGLE PAGE of the prototype then send them PDFs so they could comment on it.If there’s a new QOL feature that’s gonna be added to Figma Make, it should be commenting.

Genuine question, is Figma community removed from the software? because I cannot find it anywhere.

Hi team, as it appears that you won’t be releasing an iPad app anytime soon, please allow me to hide the open in app bar in the web experience so I can save some screen real estate.The app is only a viewer, and handy on very rare occasion, so I prefer to keep it installed on my device. However this banner pops up if I have it installed. This has caused me to uninstall the app a couple times to prevent it from showing up, only to install it later for a specific reason.Attached is my suggested dismiss button, carefully drawn in panic red. 

I know that I can export as SVG from draw.io and then drag and drop in FigJam but this does not allow me to edit. I would like to import a flowchart from draw.io in an editable format. Thanks.

I’m building a web app. The issue I have is that the mobile frame options in Figma don’t include the header and footer that browsers have. So when you preview your work, it looks like a native app, not how you’d actually see it when browsing the web on a phone. I know I can manually add this as a header and footer for every frame for every page of the site I’m designing, but it’s kind of a pain. Real mobile browsing includes these headers and footers of the browser. 2. 3: Would like to see an option to turn on this kind of overlay for frames, so I can easily design for mobile browsing, and not just for native apps.

Why, oh why do I have to click to see the size of the current Text Style I am using?Why not showing the XX/XXX like in the Styles panel?
