Hi Figma team,I’m aware there are plugins like Batch Styler, but I really miss the built-in Figma feature that used to let you view all fonts and text styles used in a file — and replace them in bulk. That native function was faster, more reliable, and didn’t require external tools or permissions. As someone who works in complex files and shared libraries, this feature was a key part of keeping typography consistent. Right now, it’s noticeably harder to audit and clean up styles across a project without it.Please consider bringing this back — it was one of Figma’s truly great quality-of-life features. Thanks so much!
Hey everyone, I’m working on a video streaming app development and want to make sure the user experience is really smooth. What UI/UX design tips or best practices would you recommend for this kind of app?
Unfortunately, I guess today’s the day.
20 days until we are forced for no real reason onto UI3.I would prefer not to swap to UI3, as I much prefer UI2, but I cannot even fathom making the switch with that tool bar stuck at the bottom of the screen right where I look at my work. PLEASE give us the option to move this toolbar at the very least.
You’ve buried every relevant action multiple clicks into the UI. Simple things like adding a min-height or changing the responsiveness are now much harder. The UI is tanking designer productivity. There’s no hierarchy in the new UI. Scannability is out the window. Sitting here squinting at low-contrast UIs with size 10-pt font like the old geezer I apparently am. You’ve moved multiple properties. Why? This increases the mouse distance that you have to travel to do basic tasks. Even as someone who’s done print, I’m baffled why you chose color swatches as the icon for theme variables. The icon choices in the new UI reminded me of VSCO with how obtuse and unclear they are.I’m shocked that a tool for designers with a reputation for a user-centered culture not only shipped this UI, but then forced it on its users.
It’s shallow. Perfect example of choosing “style” over “function”. We need to be able to find interface items--very small ones in a very cramped area where it overloads your visual system-- quickly. That’s it. Our brain / perceptions / visual system has evolved for HUNDREDS of MILLIONS of YEARS to optimize our ability to distinguish between “FIGURE” and “GROUND”. This is ALL LOST in the name of following a silly, shallow TREND. It will not be in style forever. Basic stuff. Whoever is running things over there is a total amateur. I can’t believe a product with such a HUGE user base is leaving important decisions to an inexperienced designer who knows nothing of perception & how our visual system works. I’m really annoyed that I wasted so much time even writing this, but It’s adding such unnecessary friction to my workflow is infuriating & I had to say something. Come on, guys.
Very good if there is anyone enjoying UI3 but the only solution here is allowing the user to choose between the classic and the new mess forever (never remove the classic from the option). Look I was going to mention all the declutters, but this is going to be very long. Just keep on making UI3 or 4 or 5 or 6 … but just allow us to stick to what feels HOME. “It said we listened to your feedback, and we made these changes” Please I’ve never came across such feedbacks but one thing is for sure, A lot of people is giving you feedback that UI3 is terrible. My heart goes out to the developers who made it, We know it takes a lot of effort to bring such changes however its more of psychological besides the new placement and all. So just allow us to stick to what we have called home and what we are familiar with. Who else didnt like UI3? (this might not be a constructive feedback just all we’re asking is for the option to stick to what we want instead of removing it at a given time)
I'm honestly furious. The new design is simply bad and they are forcing it on us.Basic tasks now take more clicks, which slows us down. The bar underneath is distracting, and I can't understand why every single thing in the panel needs a different background color or a stroke. It's visually overwhelming and makes it harder to focus and find what I need. The interface feels cluttered and inefficient. It's honestly ironic—and disappointing—that a UX/UI tool is creating such usability problems. What is this? Actions that were previously accessible at the top are now crammed awkwardly into the top of the side panel—because apparently the panel was too clean before? For some reason, position and dimensions are now separated, adding more friction to simple tasks. And then there’s the action bar... at the bottom?Seriously? We read from top to bottom. We work from top to bottom. Putting key actions at the bottom—where they overlap the workspace—goes against the most basic UX principles. It’s di
I want to go back to UI1. I want to go back to the most original! The sidebar layout of UI3 and the move of the top tools to the bottom both make me very uncomfortable. Is the person who designed the figma interface a designer? Don't you know how important a larger space is to designers? Why is it annoying to have a buoy at the bottom? Just for the sake of looking good? When using figma, I mostly implement designs within web pages, so I hardly look at the top web page tags. Similarly, I also ignore the top tool navigation of figma. Now it's fine. Not only do I have no top space, but the bottom space has also been reduced. If figma were to force a change in users' habits, I would have to leave figma and use other design tools that make me comfortable.
Hi- enable move and hide toolbar as it is disturbing for many designers- enable different color theme for righ and left panels, and a choise of more scales of grey, as it is in PS
Why should I continue to be a customer when you, Figma, will just do whatever you like with my workflow? Why would I trust you to do what’s best for me and my JOB when you make changes like this? When you make a tool that people rely on for their livelihoods, they really don’t like it when you fuck around with it for your shitty business reasons. Stop making it your customers problem that you feel the need to staple new bullshit into an already over stuffed tool.“You’ll get used to it” is a really shitty business model to force your your customers in to. All your telling me is I need to find an alternative ASAP so I don’t get locked into an Adobe like ecosystem and business model again. I won’t be renewing our contract with you.
This new Figma UI3 is just awful. Everything looks weird and it's super confusing now. I hate it. Why did you even change anything? It was fine before. Nothing makes sense anymore. Total downgrade. Please just put it back or something. I'm literally begging. Ew. Also, if you're not going to revert it, at least give us a 'Classic UI' toggle so we can pretend everything’s still okay. Thanks, I guess.
I scroll through here and see many folks upset about UI3… and I guess my feelings about it overall are not as strong because I could live with the unmovable toolbar but I will say that tucking Plugins and Assets under “Actions” is a terrible user experience. Ironic… considering who uses Figma primarily are UX designers. 99% of the time I’m going into “Actions” it’s to grab a component and it’s incredibly annoying to have to click open, search, click assets, click more when it doesn’t show in the first 4 suggestions… Even using hotkeys to do this is painful. Could I just have a “Assets” button that has all my components in a scrollable little window? Please?
Hi, Is this crazy? But wondering if there was any way the max / min could be a fill so you didn't have to set to variable?
If you value the users, you should listen to your community. Someone is fine with the new design, but some people raise a strong voice that they prefer the classic one. Why you ignore them and remove the option to use the classic interface?!
I absolutely do not like UI3, please don’t make us switch!!
Dear Figma, I would kindly ask to give users control over interface. Even in Adobe I can tailor my setup. I don't need a floating bar, I would like to customize my interface and make in more like original UI. Please keep in mind Figma is a tool! not fancy game or app. Hiding some functions that was easy to access before to dropdown is very bad move.
I love the annotations feature! It would be great if I could move an annotation from one frame to another. If the note was made on the wrong screen or an earlier iteration, I’m currently just copying and pasting the text from the annotation attached to the old frame to the new annotation on a new frame. Also a keyboard shortcut to quickly tag the annotation would be handy.
Figma's menu corner radius is too big -- 14pxWindows default menu corner radius is 8px (logical resolution)macOS is 9px (logical resolution). When @2x scaled, it actually appears as 18px in the screenshot
With UI3, the font weight of the Figma UI is thinner than it used to be, which makes it less legible. This is particularly bad when reading lengthy comments in my files. As with all body text, I would expect a regular weight, at least in this context. Is there a way to change that in the future?
As I am publishing library quite often - I need to do it quickly. The current flow is slowing down my process. I need to go to all libraries (it shows Updates by default) I need to switch to This file and then hit the teeny-tiny button Publish. It is way too hidden for a such frequntly-used action. Make it accessible from main UI or add a shortcut.
I use the Scale options a lot and 9 out of 10 times I know exactly what size in width or height I want to scale to. I also use Tabs a lot to navigate through options whenever possible. In the new UI when I click K and open the Scale options the first focus is on the 1x multiplayer and the Tab goes through the alignment box, it takes 20 tabs to go from the multiplayer 1x option to the Width input. In the old UI, I click K to open the Scale properties, press Tab once and enter my Width…I believe that most users will agree that the Width and Height inputs should come next after 1x in the tab order. (I am not even sure what that alignment box is supposed to do exactly , I have never used it.)
Hi everyone 👋I'm a daily Figma user and really appreciate how flexible and powerful Auto Layout has become. That said, there are still a few small but recurring pain points in my workflow that I believe many other users may also be experiencing — especially when it comes to Auto Layout default settings.Currently, certain Auto Layout options like Exclude strokes and Canvas stacking are always turned on or off by default. While this might suit some use cases, it can feel counterintuitive or inefficient in others.1. Exclude strokes — A repeated manual step that can lead to dev/design misalignmentEvery time I apply Auto Layout, I find myself manually disabling "Include strokes."In web development environments, it's common to build layouts using border for visual separation — not stroke.Because of this, including strokes in padding calculations can often result in misaligned spacing between design and front-end implementation. If designers could set "Exclude strokes" as a default, it would h
This suggestion is the result of a random gripe in Figjam, but i don’t always like using stickies in figjam as they are big and bulky and have limited style options. i love the AI sorting features for things like card sorting, but this is only possible with stickies.I’d much prefer to use the rectangles and other shapes to group things like fields in a complex profile. they’re smaller and less annoying to resize and rearrange. this makes it easier to export snapshots to send to stakeholders, as let’s be real - many normal business folks just don’t understand how to navigate horizontal scrolling or infinite canvases. the sorting works great, just don’t force sticky notes. or give us more freedom to style and resize stickies. The rectangles on the left are smaller and easier to style than the stickies.
I spend a lot of time clicking "search all libraries" when there are zero results to a component search, such as when swapping an instance. Can we default to searching all libraries if there are zero results, and just note that there are zero results in the highlighted library (I’m not even sure which library is being searched or why that one is being searched instead of the others, by the way, so that’s a UX issue).
