I use Figma in my “regular job” as a design engineer. I love it. It helps use collaborate across time zones and deliver quality products each time. I currently serve on the board of a non-profit and wanted to introduce tech to help us be more productive, efficient, and better serve the communities we support. We are entirely self-funded now as we lost our government grant. All staff, including the board, are volunteers. The operating budget is very, very limited - and 95% of it goes towards helping terminally ill, elderly, and underserved in our community.

My board is spread across the USA. As we struggle to reach more people in need and market our org, I thought Figma would be a great platform to use to strategize and brainstorm as a team, as well as design any portals or micro sites we might need in the future. Unfortunately, the cost of even a single user license is $200/year, a cost that is already prohibitive.

It’s unfortunate and disheartening that Figma treats every team like a for-profit business. What an ignorant, naive world view.

That’s my feedback. Do better.
