i want to make a grid of images from an auto-layout. the previous behavior was that the layout would responsively place as many images on one row that fit within the frame’s horizontal bounds. so if the frame is widened, at some point the images would start wrapping around. this behavior is broken even when it’s set to grid layout. please fix, don’t explain how the new layout works, i understand it and want the old way restored.

added grid auto-layout
widening the frame
desired result from resizing the grid-layout

Hey @Ferenc_Nagy — welcome to the Figma Forum, and thanks for sharing your experience with the Auto Layout updates.

You’re not alone in running into this — a few other folks had similar questions. The key is making sure “Horizontal” is selected under Layout → Flow. Once that’s set, you should see the Wrap option appear. @Nellya shared a helpful visual over in this thread that might clarify things: [Config 2025] Grid Auto Layout Flow — let’s hear what you think!

Hope that gets you to the desired result laid out in the screenshots you provided. Let me know if it solves the issue or if anything’s still unclear — always happy to dig deeper. I’ll also flag this internally so the product team is aware of where we can keep smoothing things out.
