In my prototype I use various boolean variables to switch components states/ toggle visibility based on choices made in various spots of the prototype. In the figma app and Firefox browser I do not encounter any issues (so far).I got word from other Designers that in browsers like safari the components started to have their contents disappearing if a boolean switched the states of the components.
When I switch between pages in my any figma file, it takes from 1 minute to 5-6 minutes.Such a problem I started experiencing about 2-3 weeks ago. And this problem appeared not only for me but also for my colleagues. I can’t work normally. Simple tasks take a lot of time when you have to just switch between pages and fix some text layers or copy something. just in case, I have Intel UHD Graphics
I’ve been using Crt+Cmd+{Arrow keys} to align objects left/right/top and bottom. For example Control+Command+Left arrow key to Align Left and Control+Commend+Down Arrow key to align to BottomThese were additional shortcuts along with Alt+{A/W/S/D}. I think after last figma update the additional Align left and Align right shortcuts (CTR+CMD+Left/right arrow keys) are not working. So. when I press Ctr+CMD+Arrow Left to Align Left, The object(s) resizes. (meaning it ignores the Ctrl key and just does CMD arrows which is resizing shortcut)However the Align Top and Bottom however works fine.(i.e. Ctr+Cmd+Top/Bottom aligns to Top and Bottom respectively)[I am on Figma Desktop App version 124.6.5 and MacOS version 12.7.6 ]Its very frustrating for me personally for me because I’ve been aligning things this way for years and this was the top if not the only reason to use desktop app and after this feature broke, I haven’t been able to figure out a workaround so far...I tried App keyboard short
Dear Figma Support Team,I'm experiencing slow performance with the Figma Desktop App on my MacBook Pro (2019, Intel UHD Graphics 630 & AMD Radeon Pro 5300M, MacOS 13.7.1). File loading often takes up to 5 minutes, causing system-wide lag. I've tried the official troubleshooting methods, including clearing the cache, but the issue persists.I have disabled the "Automatic graphics switching" option in the system settings to ensure the dedicated GPU is used. But I noticed the integrated GPU is at near 100% usage during loading, while the discrete GPU remains inactive.Thank you for your assistance.Best regards
[URGENT] Hi, since this morning I can’t access my file on the Figma app when I’m the owner but when I’m on the web browser I do have access (so not a licence problem). Please help as I need to work on the file asap. Thanks!
I finally figured out it wasn’t possible, but why shouldn’t I be able to?Steps to reproduce:Create a frame Create another frame inside Try converting the inner frame into a section (right-click)Observe the “Convert to section” option is not available. To make it a section, you’ll have to know to convert the outer frame to a section. It seems like the only situation where covering a frame to a section is not possible. I don’t have a clear use case for it, but I’d expect to have the ability to. It’s not urgent.
I need help for access to a previous account that I had before. I need access to the previous designs that I made with a previous account. On this previous account I used the "Login with Google" auth and now I don't have access to this google account because this was removed. How I can recover my designs?
I am trying to change the email on my account, and I cannot do so. I do not receive instructions about how to update the email to my new email. I have also tried to make a new account, but I don’t receive verification emails. I have tried multiple ways, multiple times, to get emails, and I have nothing. I need help ASAP before I lose access to my original email account.
When using a 375px-wide canvas with a layout grid, I encountered a misalignment issue due to Figma’s grid system not supporting decimal values. This creates visual inconsistencies, especially with odd-width canvases and fixed gutter sizes.Steps to Reproduce:Set up a 375px-wide canvas (e.g., iPhone screen). Add a layout grid with 16px margins and a 14px gutter. Create a 2-column design aligned to the grid. Measure each column using the rectangle tool.Expected Behavior:Both columns should be equal in width.Actual Behavior:One column is larger than the other due to the inability to use decimals for grid calculations. Odd-width canvases can’t evenly split without decimals, leading to visual misalignment. Why This is a Problem:This issue causes unnecessary confusion and impacts precision in pixel-perfect designs. Designers may incorrectly attribute the problem to their setup or component measurements.Proposed Solution:Allow decimals in layout grid settings for gutters, columns, and margins.
Conflict resolution workflow never seems to work for me. Either no specifics are displayed at all, and all I can do is press the “resolve” button, or it lists dozens and dozens of conflicts, each taking a whole minute to load the preview, and in the end all the previews turn out to be identical.A textual representation (diff) of conflicts would probably be more useful. Not mentioning the complete failure of displaying black text on black background and not being able to switch the preview bg right in the window (I don’t want to change my whole display mode from dark to light just to see the previews in figma conflicts/merge window).

I previously had access to AI design tools and now they are gone. I’ve checked my settings, and they’re switched on, so I’m not sure what’s going on. I’d love to have them back if possible—thanks for your help!
Why is Figma all of a sudden just slamming the memory and battery on my MacBook Air M1 with 16GB RAM? It started maybe a week ago and I can barely work anymore. I've provided some screenshots that show just how many Figma processes are open and how ridiculously expensive they all are. Memory consumption, 9 processesEnergy consumption
I’ve gone through all the memory/performance improvement steps for the desktop app. The only thing I haven’t done is break up my files. To be clear. These very same files worked just fine prior to UI3. So I don’t think the problem is really the files. The only way I can break up my component lib (which is smaller than any I’ve seen in the community) would be to put variables in one lib, text styles in another, inputs in another, etc. The only way I can make my files smaller would be to only have 1 page per file. Most of the performance threads I’ve seen are around specific issues or prototypes. My performance issues are with any and every aspect of Figma. Loading files being the most annoying. I’m also on an M2 Ultra Mac Studio with 192 GB of memory. It’s not my setup. Is UI3 just worse all around on memory?
I can't see the Total Views or Individual Product Views under the Metrics tab after updating to the latest version. Could someone help me determine if this is an issue specific to my account or a general problem affecting all users in the community?
There is a problem when we use Instance Swap, the initial min-width setting remains and is not reset when we swap the element.Example of the image below:The button has a min-width of 60px, when I swap it for the icon-button it maintains the 60px min-width, however, the icon-button does not have a min-width and should be 40px x 40px.
Recently, I often encounter the error Figma is not defined in the console The Figma plugin API in the global variable no longer exists. Refresh the page to restore it to normal This is an occasional problem that has appeared recently. It is very disturbing. Did the recent Figma update break something?
My settings are: I would expectNAME.svgNAME@1.5x.pngBut I getNAME@2.svgNAME.pngLike it’s an *.svg, “@2” makes no sense? Is there something I’m overlooking here?I have even downloaded sketch for cross-checking. Skech behaves as expected.and i mean figma behaved like that once as well?!

I'm encountering an issue updating the Chakra UI - FigPilot plugin to version 16. The error message reads: Could not publish plugin: Bad request. The upload API call appears to be failing, but there are no visible form errors. The original library author, Segun Adebayo, has given me the necessary rights to update the plugin. Please advise on how to resolve this issue.
All of a sudden any component I drag from the assets menu or choose from a plug in like MaterialUI disappears as soon as it hits my canvas. I can see the bounding box of the frame highlighted in purple, but there is no content inside. I also can’t copy/paste anything into the file. I’ve tested on desktop and web multiple, and it persists. The kicker is that this is only happening in one file. Is there some kind of weird setting I accidentally enabled with an accidental keyboard shortcut? I’m so confused and also now literally can’t do my work…. Thanks!
Hello everyone! I’ve encountered a very annoying bug that has made it almost impossible to work in Figma. As you can see here, if I select a text element and another element, using the shift and release the shift button, it duplicates the text and deselects the elements i wanted to group. Curiously, rectangle or any other drawn elements do not duplicate when selected, and there is a work-around by selecting two elements by dragging your coursor, but it is not a realisting fix in any scenario. It is only an issue on my Macbook Pro M2, as my other laptop (Macbook Pro Intel) doesn’t seem to have this bug. I would be very grateful for any tips and suggestions!
I want to apply a blend mode to a blurred object, but when I blur it, the blend mode disappears. There was no such thing in the old versions. I would be grateful if you could help me solve this problem.(Я хочу применить режим наложения к размытому объекту, но когда я его размываю, режим наложения исчезает. В старых версиях такого не было. Я был бы признателен, если бы вы помогли мне решить эту проблему.)
Sorry, the title is wrong. I can’t update it.I have a problem where the text in the component and its instances doesn’t update when I change the font weight in the text styles.styles does not update to reflect changes made to the component. Steps: - I created a button component, and the text in the button uses text styles- The font in the text styles is linked to a variable Issue:When I change the font weight in the text styles, the button text in both the component and its instances doesn’t update.Note: this issue only happen when the font is linked to a variable.
