Copy audience link after you open the presentation is also a different link. I would assume this is to share the presentation link since its the only other COPY LINK actions on this modal.
Hi
I did some testing on the different ways to copy presentation links, and here’s what I observed:
“Copy link” from the Share modal
If nothing is selected in the editor, the link opens the first slide of the deck in editor.
If a specific object is selected, the link opens the slide containing that object, with the object pre-selected in editor.
“Copy presentation link” from the Share modal
If nothing is selected in the editor, the link opens the first slide of the deck in audience view.
If a specific object is selected, the link opens the slide containing that object in audience view.
“Copy presentation link” from the modal opened via the Present button (top-right corner) - Copy the presentation link
Regardless of what is selected, the link always opens the first slide of the deck in audience view.
Please choose the method that best matches your goal and share the corresponding link.
If you'd like to share a specific page or object: use option 1 for the editor, or option 2 for a specific slide for audience.
For general sharing with audience members: use option 3.
Regarding the 404 errors, I wasn’t able to reproduce the issue on my end.
As noted in our documentation, audience members must be logged into their Figma accounts to open the slide deck: Present a slide deck – Figma Help Center
If you are logged in and still seeing a 404 error, we recommend submitting a bug report so our team can take a closer look: Submit a bug report
