“Copy dev mode link” is not creating the right URL (m=auto instead of m=dev)

“Copy dev mode link” in the share modal is not working on some files. It copies a URL with m=auto, so the link does not open in dev mode. The only way is for me to change the URL manually to m=dev, which is incredibly inconvenient especially when I have already pasted a lot of URLs in my documentation.

Hi @Valerie_Halvorsen, Thanks for letting us know about this issue.

I was able to see the same thing on my end. Links copied from the "Copy Dev Mode Link" and "Share in Dev Mode" modals seem to have m=auto

I understand that it makes way more sense for those links to have m=dev. Thanks for taking the time to manually change those URLs. I'll pass this along to our product team so they can take a look. We can't promise a super-fast fix, but we really appreciate you bringing this to our attention!

In the meantime, here are a couple of workarounds:

• Browsers: copy the link from the address bar.
• Figma Desktop app:
   - Hit Command + L to copy link
   - Right-click on the tab and choose “Copy link”

Thanks again for your help!
