I created a component with a container that has the height set to “hug content,” with top and bottom padding. Inside the container, there’s an instance that should adjust the height, causing the parent component to resize based on the content. The component works as expected, but when I use an instance of this component, the height becomes fixed and I can’t adjust it. The only way to make it work is by detaching the instance. What am I doing wrong here? Is this the intended behavior, or should the height be adjustable without detaching the instance?I created a screencast so it is easier to understand the issuethanks in advance
I am a beginner, please recommend good Figma beginner tutorials to me, thank you.😀
Hello All!I work as a Graphic / UI designer within a team of Software developers and we are considering integrating Crank Storyboard into our Design / Development work flow.https://blog.cranksoftware.com/how-to-import-figma-design-files-into-storyboardAs this is a new piece of software to me I was wondering if anyone in the Figma community has had experience using Crank alongside Figma and used Cranks import tool to import your designs into Storyboard? If anyone has had first-hand experience using Crank Storyboard and integrated this software into your Design/Development workflow, I would love to hear what you think of the software and how it has benefited your workflow / design process.
Hello everyoneI have a problem: my colleague was working on my Figma document and did something that unlinked one of the components, I have to fix the info in it by myself. I don’t know how components work, I only learned how to create them, how to linkback one of the unlinked components—I don’t know. Internet can’t help me. Maybe someonne here can?
Hey,On my desktop, my layout has changed to this, rather than the traditional looks and feels. I probably have mashed some keys together by mistake and something has triggered this.Any advise on how to revert this?
Hey community I’m really feeling overwhelmed by all these new features and products. As an early adopter and savvy designer who is always looking for an edge, I’m struggling to understand who Figma is targeting with this latest offering. How are we supposed to find the time to keep up with all these changes and their impact on our daily work? Figma needs to do a better job of guiding us through their vision of the entire toolchain. It’s ultimately us senior designers who will be recommending these products to the business. My team, for example, is so busy that we can barely manage to keep up with Figma Classic, let alone all the other tools. Its clear that its an aggressive approach to go after competitors but at what cost?Stay FrostyJim
Scenario and the test project ask is:You have been tasked with redesigning the corporate portal for a global pharmaceutical company. The portal serves as a central hub for different users, including healthcare professionals, pharmacists, patients, and internal employees. The portal provides access to a range of services, such as drug information, prescription management, clinical trial updates, and educational resources. User Interface Design: Design the main dashboard or homepage of the pharmaceutical portal, focusing on usability, navigation, and visual design. Apply strong visual design principles and outline a plan to test the usability of your design with real users. Deliverables:Wireframes of the main dashboard/homepage (2-3 key screens).High-fidelity mockups (2-3 key screens).A design rationale (1-2 pages) explaining your design decisions and how they meet user needs.A usability testing planHello Everyone,I recently completed the test project and would really appreciate your ho
I'm trying to place my dropdown above the hero section image, but it's not working in the prototype. Can someone help me figure out how to fix it?
When looking at my plan it says I am on “Starter” which is incorrect. My manager has the admin view and I am included as a full seat. I had access to Dev mode last week and am now getting an upgrade error?
Hi, I'm a frontend developer using Figma. We’re facing an issue with file permissions:One of our designers originally created a file in their personal Drafts and then transferred ownership to me. I used to have “can edit” access, but after becoming the owner, I now see the following message:"This person's seat needs to be updated for them to be able to edit this file type."The Share button is also disabled, and I can no longer edit the file, even though I'm the owner. We’re currently on the Starter Plan, and since this is a company account, it's difficult for us to upgrade to a paid plan at the moment. What options do I have to resolve this situation without upgrading to a paid plan?Is it possible to transfer ownership back to the original designer or regain edit access in some other way? Thanks in advance!
Hello, I’m struggling with the layout option not available in the app but visible in the browser. It’s very frustrating and I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong. I restarted both app and computer more than once. Thank you in advance.
An image inside a mask looks fine in Figma Design, but when used in Figma Sites, the mask appears rotated in the preview, breaking the crop. Steps to Reproduce: Create a component instance with an image inside a mask in Figma Design. Confirm it looks correct in both design and prototype views. Add the component to a Figma Sites project. Check the preview in Figma Sites.(Redacted images)
I previously accessed my Figma account using my university-provided student email address. However, now that I’ve graduated, my university has deactivated that email, and I’ve lost access to my Figma account and the files associated with it.I would really appreciate it if you could help me transfer access to my personal email address so I can continue working on my designs and maintain access to my files. Please let me know if there is anything that can be done!
A similar query was posted by @paulBL. But the solution was not clear and thread was closed.can anyone help me with this?Error: cannot create app. One or more forms are missing data cards. In Figma, add data cards to your forms, then try converting again.Designed UI for reference:
2个月前的文件,这次再登陆的时候,文件全部都没有了!非常急!麻烦解决一下!
Figma removed window.figma from all pages in view-only mode on March 19, 2024.Shortly after, I shared a community post here, as well as on Hacker News and Twitter, which drew some attention. Figma responded both here and on Twitter, stating that the removal was unintentional and that they planned to restore the API “in the coming weeks.” Two weeks later, they revised the timeline, saying the fix would be rolled out “in the next few months.”But it’s now been 14 months, and window.figma is still unavailable. Figma has stopped responding to any follow-ups.As a Figma user, I find this level of disregard unacceptable. You made a clear public promise to the community, then quietly abandoned it. It’s hard not to suspect that the original response was just a stalling tactic to defuse backlash and buy time.
Hello! I extended my education plan, but I still can’t edit in my education project, as if I don’t have the right to edit it.
Watching the “Config 2025” sites looked interesting. About me i’m a tester, but watching other videos from some YouTubers, they got in and started showing the code generated for the browser. YUK YUK YUK! Or should i say <div><<div><div> It is nothing but a sea of <div>. Will be 100% unusable or an extreme pain in the (what we sit on), Not a minor pain but essentially as bad as one could ever make it, not to mention absolutely no semantic rules which any accessible site would be expected to have to make the site usable… Just seems you are effectively giving every accessible user a big middle finger… Might be i’m assuming too much but you all are away the sites you expect people will need to use will be as difficult as you can make it.
This is a recent issue with my design system, the font weight changing back to regular when the variables were set to Heavy, but when I try to edit the text, it jump back to Heavy, but it will changing back to regular when I come back to the page next day. anyone facing the same issue? it works fine before. when I not touching it When I editing the text
I’ve been following the fantastic insutructions here to create highlighted text for my slides. I would create them in figma then copy them into my slide. While editing the highlights appear correctly, but when presenting the effect is completely gone.Anyone know why this is happening or how to fix it?
HiA lot has been said about the new UI.I share the same general thought. It’s not the best solution.Just starting to use it and two main aspects stand out:The toolbar at the bottom is bad. It collides with the working space and it collides with the operating system bottom bar - which makes you afraid to go to the figma toolbar. It makes you feel constrained. Bad. And it collides with all software out there. it’s just like an appendix in the way.Bottom buttons are good for mobile, not desktop. Why don't you put it on the top bar - which is very empty because no one works in so many projects at once, I suppose. You can even move these to the right and keep the toolbar in the left, without being another horizontal bar if that's what worries you.Or, since monitors have much more horizontal space and the design areas today are more and more vertical, maybe the toolbar could be vertical, at the left edge.Another problem I encounter is the lagginess of the Layers panel. I suppose it's because o
The “multiplayer” aspect of Slides is amazing. But we discovered it doesn’t work as it should, when using “Present + Notes”.When a presenter is spotlighted, their pointer movements and embedded prototype interactions only appear in the notes window, not in the present window. The current workaround for presentations over Zoom is to use the “share section of a screen” option to highlight the slide area within the notes window. This is not optimal! Feels like a simple bug to fix… or add the “spotlight” functionality to the present window.
This has been an ongoing issue within our design team for close to a year now.For some odd reason, passages of text have different kerning settings depending on who is typing within the text box EVEN THOUGH both of our text settings appear to be exactly the same. The kerning, leading, and paragraph spacing are all the same but for some reason Figma believes our text settings are slightly different.I posted it as a gif because its literally impossible to notice the difference unless you see it happening in real time, but man is it annoying when dealing with large passages of text and the rag!! Has anyone else come across this issue, and if so, did you manage to find a solution to it?
