Hi guys! I have a problem with my prototype in figma. I just open the prototype in figma and it works fine but when I open it in chrome it doesn’t load. This happens only in Chrome because I have opened it in other web browsers like edge and internet explore and it works perfectly. Can anybody help me?
Hey @Simo4, thank you for reaching out!
I wasn’t able to find any recent issues on this but I’d like to help troubleshoot further why you are encountering issues loading prototypes in Chrome. To help me take a closer look, can you please let me know the following:
Can they let us know if the same issue occurs after clearing the Chrome cache as described in Google’s help documentation: Clear cache & cookies - Computer - Google Account Help
Can they let us know if the same issue occurs in an incognito window or after disabling any running browser extensions?
Thank you for your assistance!
Dear @Gayani_S Gayani,
Thank you for your support!
The thing is that everything is working just fine on my machine, but it isn´t on some of my colleagues and customers.
I am not sure if its maybe related with having Figma Desktop installed or not?!
I am sry, but I wont check all those things on my colleagues machines.
All the best,
Simo
Hey @Simo4, to confirm is it happening in the browser, desktop app or both?
Are you able to test the prototype on a different browser? You can find in our Help Center article the browsers Figma supports. Alternatively, I’d try to test it on a different device.
Thank you,
Gayani
Clear cookies also. It worked for me after doing both things.
Second machine this is happening to me on. I don’t have the app downloaded because I’m not a designer. Just trying to open in Chrome when our designer shares prototypes with me.
Hey @Ridge_Anderson, thank you for reaching out!
Can you please try the following troubleshooting steps and let me know if this resolved the issue for you?
Thanks!
I cleared Chrome cache and tried incognito window and enabling OpenGL and nothing worked. I ended up downloading the app and it worked, but we can’t require our clients to do that.
@Gayani_S For the past few days, I’ve been having issues with clients due to non-functioning prototypes. It’s taking you a very long time to fix this problem. Do you even have a plan to address this?
Sure, here’s a more concise and technical response:
It sounds like Chrome might be having compatibility issues with your Figma prototype. Try loading it in Incognito mode; if it works, a browser extension could be the culprit. Disable extensions one by one to identify the issue. Ensure Chrome is updated, and clear cache and cookies for Figma. If it still doesn’t load, consider resetting Chrome’s settings to default. This should help resolve any conflicts. As i have fixed the same issue for my inasaldiningprices,a reliable source of of mang inasal menu, click here to see
Hey @Ridge_Anderson, thanks for confirming this! This is not the ideal solution, I’d like our technical quality team take a look at this. I’ve submitted a support ticket on your behalf. Your ticket number is #1097305, for reference.
Our support team usually takes up to 24 hours to reply back to emails - tends to be quicker than that in normal circumstances. However, please be aware that we are facing increased contact volume so there might be a delay.
Appreciate your patience in the meantime!
Hey @Jacek_Barwacz, apologies for the issues! It seems like these issues are getting solved for some users when clearing the cookies. Also I am not able to reproduce this issue on my end.
Can you please confirm if you’ve tried all these suggestions solution? If you’re still experience any issues I can get you connected with our technical quality team.
Same problem here. I embeded the Figma prototype inside webflow, and it neither load while I’m editing inside webflow nor on the finished and published website. I changed another browser and it can load.
I’m creating a portfolio by embedding the prototype, so all the above solutions cannot work for me because it will be random people who use chrome to view the prototype, and they will not be clearing their browser cookies for that.
Please let me know if I can do anything to fix on my end, and I wish this issue can be solved asap. Thank you!!
I have the same problem in Chrome.
Hey @Cyan_Ma and @Abrorbek_Azizov, thank you for reaching out!
Can you please check if you’ve tried the following steps:
- Clear cache
- Update to the latest browser version
- Confirm you have WebGL installed and enabled
- Check if the same issue occurs in an incognito window or after disabling any running browser extensions?
Please take a look at our Help Center article for more information: How do I configure my browser for Figma?
Thank you in advance!
I’m also having this problem in Chrome, even after trying the above steps.
Crome version: 129.0.6668.101
MacOS: 14.6.1 (23G93)
Any ideas?
Hey @David_Billings, thanks for sharing these details.
Can you let me know if the same issue occurs in an incognito window? Or have you test it our in a different browser (Figma supports Safari, Microsoft Edge and Firefox)?
Please do reach out to our support team via this form. They can investigate further what’s causing your issue.
If possible please to share a link to your prototype with me I can test this on my end.
Our clients can’t load our prototype links for the past few weeks. It’s been frustrating because we cannot expect our clients to troubleshoot their own browsers to view prototypes. This is a complete failure of Figma and is hurting our business as a vendor. Please fix issue asap.
Hey @Melody_Yung,
I understand how frustrating and stressful this situation must be for you and your clients, especially when it’s impacting your business.
I’ve flagged this internally with the team, and we’re ready to help get this resolved as quickly as possible.
To investigate the problem thoroughly, we need a bit more information. This will help us pinpoint the exact cause and find the right solution:
- Console logs capturing the error will show us what’s happening behind the scenes when the link is loaded.
- A screenshot of what your clients are seeing will help us understand whether there’s an error message or if it’s just stuck on the loading screen.
- Browser details will help us determine if it’s a universal issue or tied to a specific browser.
We want to make sure this gets resolved efficiently, and having these details will allow us to identify the problem much faster. If you prefer, you can also reach out directly to our support team through this link: https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360001731233, and they can assist you further.
Appreciate the help while we work on getting this fixed.
This is a huge problem and I feel like there are enough people on this thread to establish that this is a Figma - not an individual issue. My company just sent out 20 presentation decks to important clients and we now have no idea whether those clients will be able to load them or not.
Bottom line:
1 - This is issue is specific to 1 browser - Chrome.
2 - When trying to open, it just gets stuck on the loading screen.
3- Deleting Figma cookies within Chrome generally solves the issue for most of the people in this thread (including me) but we cannot go around asking recipients of prototypes to do the same.
This is a really big deal. We need to be able to trust Figma. I urge you to put this issue to the top of your priority list.
I’m having the same issue. Only incognito mode resolves this. This bug has been lingering for years and causing much frustration to me and my stakeholders.
My company even pay Organization plan for Figma. What do we get :-/
The following solution proposed by [Ajaya_Bajracharya] worked for me:
Navigate to Settings > Privacy and Security > Third Party Cookies > See all site data and permissions, then clear the cookies related to Figma> Restart Browser.
