How can I make grids that don’t change the frame size?I think I am missing a simple step.

hello with figma make can we use the design on a random figma file out of figma make ?  

When I design a presentation on Figma (as a prototype), I add the correct weight for each font (Regular, Medium, Bold, Italic) - when I present it, some of the texts’ font weight revert to Regular. Does anyone else have a similar issue? Know of any solutions so that the font weight won’t change when running a protoype? Thanks 🙂

I’m using Make to make a prototype. Today it kept changing layouts and functions when I give it something unrelated, then it won’t revert back. It say’s it has reverted back but it hasn’t.I just noticed something that was a massive change and I don’t know when it happened. Possibly hours of work gone. Very, very frustrating. Would love to know if others are getting this too.

Does anyone have a step by step guide on how to setup the MCP and then use code connect, like cursor and VS code? or something. Idiot proof that a junior designer can setup by themselves. Apparently the guide on figma: like first of all it’s not step by step. the screens doesn’t add up. checking settings and all. it’s just so ever confusing. @figma please step up and make it ever crystal clear please. i’m not a coder and your steps aren’t clear.

How could I learn Ui/ux design through Figma to build a simple portfolio, as I am a beginner in this field but also looking for to learning and built design skills.

I have a banner i designed for mobile in a Components file. That banner has multiple states (error, success etc). I would like to have that banner change to a wider (web) version if I change the entire pages platform to Web. How do I do that?Right now, I have setup Mobile and Web breakpoints in the source Foundations file (Components file pulls in Foundations of course).

I recently tried to verify my account for free educational access, but they asked me to upload a government ID for identity verification. I uploaded my National ID card, but it was declined. Hi designers!I’m trying to create the rounded corners effect and want to keep layout easy to adjust at the same time. Here is an effect I’m trying to achieve:  But I’d like to avoid manually adjusting the rectangular size every time I’m changing the text. With autolayout I cannot achieve the rounded connection: Can anyone suggest how to keep connections rounded AND to work with autolayout?Thank you!

Hi everyone,I'm experiencing a recurring issue with the Figma desktop app on Windows. Every time I open the app, I get a prompt saying there's an update available, and I have to click "Install now" before I can start working.I've already tried: Reinstalling the app multiple times Choosing both "Install on next launch" and "Install now" options But the issue still happens every time I launch Figma.Has anyone else encountered this? Is there a way to fix it so Figma updates just once and doesn’t ask again on every launch?Thanks in advance!

Hello All,  I have a problem which I am trying to prototype and give interaction in Figma.I have a carousel row/recommendation row (like which you see in Netflix etc.), I want to remove/hide it from the view when the user  hovers over the X symbol a ‘Not interested’ message appears. and when user clicks on X symbol two things should happen -The row gets removed  & then a snackbar appears with ‘undo’ button. When the user clicks on the undo button the row appears back.I am trying to protype this using variables & variants but it is not working. Please help , I would really appreciate this. 

 Problem is here: Hello everyone,I have a form input with two states: default focused  In the focused state, it pulls an instance from outside. That instance has a simple structure that runs after a delay. I’m managing the focused state of this form input with a variable. So, when I click on the form input, the variable becomes true and the form element switches to its focused state. When I run the master component directly and trigger the focused state with on-click, the blink effect works. However, when I call an instance from the master component, the blink doesn’t work. Could you help me out? What am I doing wrong?File is here:  

Hello, I recently graduated and the university deactivated my email. I need to retrieve the linked files as those files were really important. Is it possible to do that? I have lost all my academic work. I did backup by adding my personal email to those projects but still can't see them. The university email ID is [redacted by forum admin/moderator to remove PII]

Hi Figma Community,I’m working on translating the Arco Design System from Chinese to English. This includes: All the text content inside layers AND the component properties (property names and their option values) So far, the only method I’ve found is to manually select each component, then copy-paste the property name and each of its possible values one by one. This process is extremely slow and tedious.Is there a more efficient way — maybe a plugin, script, or workflow — to bulk translate both text layers and component properties in Figma? Any advice or pointers would be much appreciated!Thanks in advance!

Please help ​@Gleb   I’ve seen your solution to this a few times on Figma but I can’t seem to crack it. I am currently working on a few landing pages that utilise our design system to swap out icons and logos, but none of them are sized to fit within the parameters we have set - design system icons are, at largest, 32x32, desired size is 108x108. I’ve created a component with the logo set at 108x108 and whenever I create an instance of that component and change the logo it shrinks back down to 32x32. I’ve seen your files and that you have found a solution, I’ve done my best to replicate but Im just not getting the same result! Hi, I hope someone can help with this issue. I have created a component card with a show/hide boolean property for the card description. But when I use the toggle lines appear instead of the text. I have tried putting the description in a nested autolayout but that produces an outline around the autolayout layer instead of the lines representing the text. This has happened before and I got around it but I can’t remember how! Thanks. Images to show the issue attached. 

I’m reaching out because I’ve lost access to a Figma file I was working on using my internship email account, which has since been deactivated. I was the only person working on the file, and unfortunately, I can’t remember the file name.I tried checking Recents, Drafts, Trash, and even my browser history, but I can’t locate or access the file anymore. I also submitted a support ticket (#1415763) explaining the situation, but it was automatically closed without a proper response.Has anyone dealt with a similar situation? Is there any way to recover a file if the associated email account no longer exists?I would really appreciate any guidance or advice on how to proceed.Thank you in advance!

Hello world, I am working on a Figma plugin where one of its features is changing fill of selected elements into color variable if the said fill is found within the variables. Everything else is straight forward but when it comes to text, since different characters within one text element could have different colors, I tried to access them using get StyledTextSegments like so:const segments = element.getStyledTextSegments(['fills'])The issue I am currently facing is that fill within textSegments is readonly, So the following code does not work; specifically the part of assigning segment.fills new value:segments.forEach((segment) => { const fillsCopy = [...segment.fills] if (fillsCopy[index].type === 'SOLID') { fillsCopy[index] = figma.variables.setBoundVariableForPaint( fillsCopy[index], 'color', matchResult.variable ) segment.fills = fillsCopy}Is there another way I can make this work?
