Recently Figma has made changes to how child and parent elements automatically apply auto layout rules when you first add auto layout to them. It seems like Figma is trying to guess what I want my settings to be (fill vs. hug vs. fixed, that kind of thing). When this works it’s helpful, but in practice I find that it’s usually not applying the properties that I want it to apply. I’m having to spend so much time tweaking the AL settings after I press Shift + A and it has finally annoyed me enough that I felt like making a topic about it. This is especially the case when I’m creating new component sets (I almost always use AL for these) and my components all get set to fill when I want them to remain fixed width, and the component set is set to a fixed width instead of hug. I have to go in and reset all the children to fixed with, and the parent frame to hug, every single time. I have an auto-layout frame with a fixed width (the screen). I like to resize it every now and then to check how everything looks in different screen sizes. Inside it I have another frame (a translucent navbar/header) set to absolute so it sits on top of other elements. However I want it to always match the width of the screen. As soon as that’s changed, I have to manually fix the header each time. I’ve found some related threads (1, 2) that seem to have a similar issue, but it seems they’re bugs and the workaround is to set the position to “scroll with parent”. In my situation, the element is already set to it, so they might’ve have a different problem. What am I doing wrong?

How can we make a linear prototype setting time because the maximum is around 10000ms or 10s. Is there any way to change the value to 30000ms or 30s because i making an auto slider and the speed is very fast in a linear setting of prototype.

Buttons inside components such as dialogs and modals are being seen to set themselves from 44px tall to 20px across design. The library component has a button group in an autolayout. Buttons are fixed height at 44px, auto layout set to hug. Recently some buttons here and there, seems random are changing their fixed height to 20px, always 20. I am not sure why. Any ideas?

Hi Everyone, I have a problem with replacing slots within a larger molecule component. I’ve built a complex component designed to be highly customizable. There are 6 slots that can be replaced by 8 pre-defined components (atoms or smaller molecules, each with desktop and mobile variants). Additionally, this molecule has both desktop and mobile variants. All slot widths are set to fill the container, and their heights hug the content. Therefore, in theory, the replaced slot should adjust to the height of the replaced component. While this works initially, changing the device variant of the molecule and then a single slot item changes its height from “hug content” to “fixed size,” which messes up the autolayout. If this is unclear, please see the attached video: Dropbox I even tried recreating this molecule from scratch, but the problem persists. Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong, or could this be a bug in Figma?

I have a project that includes various design elements—emails, social stories and social posts. I am designing these in separate Figma design documents. Each individual item (post, story, email) is it’s own frame. In order to present these to the client, I want to create a separate Figma design file that shows the campaign. This will have multiple pages, each showing one or more of the design documents. For example, one page might feature an email and social post, another might feature two emails. I would like to embed a live preview of my email design into the presentation document WITHOUT making a copy of the entire email as I will NOT be making any design changes in the presentation document. For those familiar with Adobe, think of it as an indesign file presentation with the designs as linked Photoshop files. When I update the photoshop file, the indesign links are updated.

The problem is in one file, in the desktop application. A restart or re-login did not work. The right sidebar is visible but empty, has anyone had a similar problem?

when i select an element in dev mode instead of seeing its properties in the inspection panel in the right i get an image and a text above it with a “learn more” link. What’s the problem?

Yesterday I did a bunch of work on a shared file in my Team which I am the admin of. Another user seems to have logged in afterwards which lead to the file being reverted to the state it was in before yesterday’s work, which is the bug in question. Today, this happens again. I am working and the frames I am working on randomly disappear right in front of my eyes as soon as the other user logged in. He didn’t select or delete the frames, the history shows he didn’t even touch anything. I can revert the file back to the way it was a few seconds ago when this happens, but this is so annoying, having your work be deleted for no reason. Please fix this bug. 11:47 AM is when the frames get deleted automatically when the other user logged in, 11:44 AM is the last change I made to the file.

Hello Figma Community, I’ve been experiencing some issues with Figma lately. The undo command often doesn’t work, and neither do the zoom in and zoom out commands. This has become quite frustrating as I find myself frequently having to close and reopen the program to continue my work. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Hi, I have 3 Figma embedded files on my site here: https://drabsch.com/portfolio/items/australian-ethical/ The page & embeds load fine in desktop Safari & Chrome, but when viewing it on an iPhone in Safari, the page crashes. I get the system error message “A problem repeatedly occurred on (website URL)”. Not sure what to do here?

Hello Everyone, I have my school email from The New School. I used this to set up a Figma educational account, and things have been going great. My Issue: I have now graduated and been hired, and people who wish to view or edit my Figma project have to verify their account. This is an issue, of course, because users who wish to collaborate with me need to verify with The New School, but they are, of course, outside their system. My Question: Should I download these files and migrate to a new non-educational account, or is there a workaround for my current educational account so others can access it without education verification? Hi community! I have a problem with FigmaAgent on my browser Figma, it doesnt get my local fonts. But if I install the old version of Figma Font Helper, all fonts will work again, but then it is automatically updated to FigmaAgent and the fonts stop working. Windows 10 Chrome browser

I’ve tried all the the solutions suggested by the community but nothing seeming to be working so far. I have installed and uninstalled the Figma agent app too many times, set the program to initiate on startup, I’ve also restarted by device and browser multiple time to no avail. It doesn’t work on the desktop app too. and when I try to access my local font from the settings I see this Even when it is correctly installed in the Appdata folder. I have been struggling with the problem for days and it is really frustrating because none of the solutions seem to work. Can anyone help me please?

Hey Figma Team, I am trying to embed a Live Figma Prototype into a Framer-created website and want it to be responsive for different breakpoints. I’ve already tried changing the iframe settings width and height to 100%, but the prototype retains its fixed dimensions and does not scale with screen size. I have also tried containing it within a div block class and modifying the dimensions/scaling of the div block. I can’t find anything helping online for the same. Please help!

Hi! I am starting in Figma, and after seeing one tutorial I thought I was doing everything well until I saw that in the frame #38 the last group named “Extras” doesn’t appear when scrolling. I have added the vertical scroll in the main frame, and I have selected “no scrolling” in the frame where I have all the groups, but I cannot find what I am doing wrong. Could anyone have a look?
