I’m creating a large prototype that involves a collapsable side bar nav. The side bar nav is pretty straight forward and expands when mouse enters, and when mouse leaves. I’ve made the nav bar a component with clickable menu items inside. These clickable items in the nav bar are components with hover effects. All nav menu items work except 1, for some reason when clicked, just the hover state stays in effect and the ‘Navigate to’ doesn’t register. Here is what that menu item looks like in the layers panel: Not sure what else to do as I’ve changed the component name multiple times, deleted the interaction and re applied over and over again. All other menu items work except for this one. Is this a bug? Do I have too many screens prototyped? Not sure what else to do.
I have built a prototype of a Timer and when I start the timer it begins to count upward. When I hit pause it goes back to zero. However when I hit start the second time it starts where it left off (5 sec) rather than starting at zero. Any suggestions?
I’m naming my radius variables. we decided to use t-shirt sizing for names e.g. radius-medium, radius-large, radius-xlarge etc. Now let’s say in the future I want to introduce a new value between large and xlarge. How would that happen??
Hi everyone, I’m new to Figma and I’m encountering a problem with an SVG file I imported from Canva. Some of the circles in my project appear to be cut off and are no longer complete circles. Although Figma recognizes these shapes as circles, I’m unable to fill in the missing parts with color. Interestingly, some of the circles are displayed correctly and are complete. Here’s what I’m seeing: This is how some of the circles look in Figma. Here you can see Figma recognizes the circles. Does anyone know how I can fix this issue or work around it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
Can i use figma for logo designing & graphics designing
The font is installed, Font installer is installed. Neither the browser nor the program displays the new installed font, although the ones I installed earlier appear. They seem to appear over time. I don’t understand what the problem is, I haven’t tried reinstalling the program yet, but I’m not sure that this will help. BTW, other programs can see installed fonts just fine
Hi! I’am very much a rookie when it comes to Figma prototypes. I am making an interactive e learning presentation for my client. Whole benchmark is there: (as a new user I can not upload a video of interactions) If you want to see the benchmark you have type in e-mail address and click the arrow to proceed. https://mgr.farm/sinecod/ What I struggle the most are few of the interactions. My questions: Interaction 1 - What the client is supposed to do is to drag and drop answers in right places in the table. Then the client needs the option to check which of the selected answers are correct and make changes if necessary. Also the button to proceed further should be clickable only when all of the answers will be connected. How to make that interaction possible? Interaction 2 - What the client is supposed to do is to fill the gaps in text using dropdown menu and picking the right answer. I have already made a dropdown component but it has one glaring issue. I does show the complete list of
If you delete a main component or variant, an instance of it in the document will remain, but the only way to find it is to select it and see the “Restore Component” or “Missing variant” in the right panel. Is there any way to list or explore the main component or its instances that are lost throughout the document or page? I am the developer of the Figma Plugin, so any method utilizing the Figma API would be fine. Thank you in advance. Translated with DeepL Translate: The world's most accurate translator (free version)
Hi, a little help please. I have 9 buttons. Each button label is for a different game mechanic (e.g., badges, levels, missions). I also have 9 definitions, one for each game mechanic. When a user clicks on a button I want the definition to appear to the right. Each definition should appear in the same place for continuity. The default could be the ‘points’ definition displayed. Or, it could be a white frame with the text ‘click on a button to display the definition.’ Could someone please provide a step-by-step for this interaction? Thank you very much!
Hello Figma Community, I’m working on a table with 8 rows, where each row has 4 columns: Request Number, Contact Name, Subject, and Status. The Status column includes a dropdown menu component with variants (Inactive, Active, Hover, and Selected). When I trigger the dropdown, the row’s height increases (since it’s set to hug content), and the dropdown menu doesn’t overlay the rows below as I need—it stays within the row, pushing content down. I’ve tried the “Canvas stacking” solution, but it didn’t resolve the issue. How can I make the dropdown overlay properly without affecting the layout? Any professional tips or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
Hello everyone. I created a button with two variants. I added this button to a content container. and added this content container to my desktop screen. I changed the text of the button in the content container I added to my desktop screen. then when I added this content container to my mobile screen, the text of the button did not change. What am I doing wrong? Why isn’t the text of the button being moved? Screenshot Video is below 👇 buttontext
I don’t know why my Figma is not upgrade until now!!!
No se me cambia a la version nueva de Figma.
excuse me, where can I find the “show activity” button? it should look like a diagram
I received the pretendard and suit fonts and re-ran the Figma desktop app, but it didn’t work properly. If I reinstall the font, it works for a while, but it doesn’t work again if I reboot. what should i do
Hello, I couldn’t click the options when I opened the right-click menu. It happened when I updated my Figma to the latest version (124.3.2). Has anyone experienced this issue?
I read on the pricing page that the files in the Free package are not private. Is this true?
GUYS I NEED HELP! WHEN I GO to PROROTYPE → Interactions → on click-> navigate to → destinations my frames are not showing , why???
This has happened when other users in my company with view/edit capabilities are looking through designs and see a rectangle that’s off, the placement is weird/incorrect, or a symbol is glitching/different than it should be. Other users have also sent me screenshots where there are huge artboards all over the current design that shouldn’t be there, and aren’t there/dont exist on my end.
Hi, i am new to Figma and while testing the free version, i am stuck with entering a test. I searched this forum, but i could not find any real help so far. I performed all the advised steps to similar issues: I add a frame and choose the text tool, then i should be able to simply click and write or draw a text field and write. When i want to type, my keybord keys move through the menu bar on top and also to the right part where you can edit the components. But no text. When I enter a Text via the left navigation (layers, assets), i cannot see it in the frame. I use a macbook air 2018 with the latest OS. Any advise? Thanks and cheers
First, I want to commend the Figma team for the incredible work you’re doing in continuously evolving the variable scope. We’ve begun using string variables in our designs to capitalize on the benefits of maintaining a single source of truth, ensuring our designs remain up-to-date. Here’s our vision: Currently, we’ve developed an in-house plugin that interfaces with Figma string variables to generate an XLS file containing a list of keys and values for our localization team to translate. However, this process isn’t fully automated yet—we still need to manually generate the XLS document from the Plugin, download it, and upload it to the backend. We utilize the variable folder structure to create keys and identify the context of the text. The plugin then adds the platform-specific prefix to each key before generating the XLS file. So far, this system is working well! Looking ahead, our roadmap includes developing a fully automated system where Figma variables serve as the source of truth
How can I scroll the design without moving the cursor when I preview prototype mode? It’s annoying that the cursor moves when scrolling.
A problem I’m running into is that text layers within Figma aren’t vertically aligned within their bounding box. The additional space at the bottom of the text layer creates an offset that causes a disconnect between the dev build and the Figma components. Within the dev build, copying the Figma specs 1:1 results in the browser displaying the font vertically aligned within the button as it should. What would be the right approach to fix this to align the two? I don’t want to depend on vertical trim as a solution because as far as I know, vertical trim is still something that’s being drafted and I don’t want to depend on a feature that a majority of browsers don’t support yet.
I have developed an animated Chat widget icon that allows users to close the widget icon (so it’s not obtrusive on every page) and animates the chat icon to the navigation, so users can see it move from bottom right corner to nav bar. That way they know it’s clearly still available (but out of the way). My question is about ADA compliance for an animation like that since it happens outside of an initial screen read of the nav and would need to trigger some messaging to the screen reader as to where to find the Chat widget if necessary. Does anyone have any experience with this type of animation and ADA compliance?
I’m currently refining my design system in Figma and have encountered a challenge in managing autonomous components (like buttons or links that work independently) versus nested components that need to be part of a structured list or group to function properly. For example, I’ve created a Stepper Item component that represents a single step in a stepper flow. To create a complete stepper, multiple Stepper Items need to be combined. The challenge is that the number of these nested components can vary depending on the project, which complicates things: Option 1: I could create variants for each possible configuration (a stepper with 3 steps, a stepper with 4 steps, a stepper with 5 steps, etc.), but this quickly becomes unmanageable due to the sheer number of potential combinations. Option 2: I could create a default component with a large number of nested components (like a Stepper with many Stepper Items) and control their visibility as needed. However, this approach could result in h
