I’m developing a plugin that includes functionality to create a text node with content. I’m trying to set the text node’s vertical alignment to ‘cap height to baseline,’ but I’m having trouble achieving this. text.textCase = "TITLE"; text.textAlignVertical = "TOP"; text.textAutoResize = "WIDTH_AND_HEIGHT"; text.textLineHeight = "CAP_HEIGHT"; The other ones work fine – but not the Vertical Trim. Thoughts?

I posted my first FigJam to my Google Classroom, and none of my students were able to access it. I used Jamboard a lot last year, so I just did the same, in that I chose: “make a copy for each student”. I wanted to pull defintions I had on one color sticker up to definitions that I had on a different color sticker. When they tries to move the definition sticker, the whole screen moved back and forth. Between me and my students, we were not able to figure it out.

Hi! I have a button that uses variables for sizes (S, M, L, XL). I want buttons S and M to use smaller font size (14px) than L and XL (16px). I use the same font style for button and paragraph text (M-regular). How do I set up variables for that style so that the button text changes between 14px and 16px (depending on the button size), independently from paragraph text that should switch sizes depending on the device (Desktop, Tablet, Mobile)? I want to control button size regardless of the device. There are a couple solutions I can think of: Use a separate font style for paragraph text and button text, each having a separate text variable Don’t use variables at all for button size, just use variants (I’m trying to avoid that one due to many variants) Is there a way to keep a single style for buttons and paragraphs, and somehow handle this case with variables?

Not sure where to submit this bug, when I try to draw on my presentation the colour automatically shifts to white.

I can’t use the PingFang font in Figma on Chrome with macOS 15.0. Before upgrading the system, it worked fine. I’m using Chrome, and I’ve cleared the browser cache and restarted the computer, but the issue persists. I suspect the issue might be due to the following: macOS 15.0 updated the PingFang font, but it cannot be successfully downloaded and updated in Font Book.

All - semi noob here and wanted to make sure im starting down the right path. My developers are using vs code with MUI to build out our front end. Id like to redo my Figma designs with the same default mui library components so i can just export the new Figma designs in code to them. From all i can tell its as easy as 1) importing the mui for Figma design library, 2) using those components on the new Figma screens (in developer mode?), and then e) exporting the vs code and css (maybe with another export tool like rendition?) Is it that simple or am i missing something? Id hate to get 1/2 way through and te realize the assumption was wrong. If there are different libraries, tools, etc to do what i need please lmk. Thanks for any help - and (sorta) sorry for asking such a basic question.

Hey everyone, I have a footer element which is an autolayout itself and I have some body content in the parent frame along with the footer. I want to make the footer stick to the bottom of the viewport so I changed into absolute position (ignore autolayout in ui3). Then i changed the scroll behaviour to fixed. While this is keeping the footer fixed in the bottom and I am also able to scroll the rest of the body content in the autolayout, the footer is not responsive (since i ignored the autolayout). Is there any way I can achieve this? I want to keep the footer stuck to the bottom of the screen and also ensure it is responsive (fills parent container) when I change the width of the parent frame.

I have a list of todo’s in an auto-layout frame. I need to access the X access to move one of the todo’s out out of frame to the right (for prototype animation purposes). When I select the todo the X & Y axis are greyed out though. I though of using Absolute Positioning but that options seems to be greyed out also. Can anyone explain when this parameters are greyed out and if theres a workaround for what I’m trying to achieve? Thanks!

I’m trying to give a particular shape to my block of text, without it being cut (I tested, it doesn’t work with a mask). For example, instead of being in a rectangle, I want my text block to be shaped like a triangle, with the text automatically wrapping to fit that shape. Does anyone have a solution please?

My sidebar is missing. I’ve tried command + shift + \ and also right click view UI and all I get is the toolbar. So I can’t see any layers. I read through a bunch of similar issues online and thus far haven’t found a solution. I’m on a macbook pro + Ventura + chrome (updated today). Thanks!

Hi! I have a common problem, where the scrolling icon of my mouse gets “stuck” into that setting, but its behaving just like the normal mouse cursor icon, and it’s quite annoying. Am i doing something wrong or is it a bug? Sorry for my english, its hard to describe. Here’s the chatgpt version of it: “When I’m working on a Figma document, sometimes the mouse pointer changes from its classic shape to its scrolling shape (the four-directional wheel), but it doesn’t behave as expected. Instead, it retains the classic pointer behavior. When I use the mouse wheel and click it, it behaves as expected, but the icon doesn’t return to its normal state afterwards.” I’m uploading a literal screenshot

Which Figma plugin do you suggest using to create frames with table layouts in which to set formulas like in spreadsheets (e.g. Numers, Excel, etc.)?

I’m working on a component where users can select their weight or height by scrolling through a list of numbers. The picker should have a fixed value displayed at the top that updates in real-time as the user scrolls. I believe this might be achieved using local variables, but I’m not very familiar with how to set them up in Figma. I’m looking for guidance on how to prototype this interaction. I’ve added a photo to illustrate what I’m trying to create.

If designers set up component in a way to dynamically increase the size of container and reflow content - does this translate into code?

The app is quite buggy lately. While mirroring it disconnects, or the screen goes dark, then I have close the app sometimes or restart the prototype doesn’t work. Also, the app is rendering a light grey outline on elements that have a light grey background fill, its kind of annoying. I love your product but please fix these bugs, we rely a lot on how things look on app to make decisions.
