I receive Figma files from clients that are linked to their own libraries. They’ve sent their design file but not the libraries files. They also haven’t provided access to their libraries (they no longer work with the company that created the components) Am I able to create a new library from the components in the existing Figma file? Will that break the variables? I’m hoping I don’t have to detach everything and rebuild. Ty

Very important files for my company suddenly disappeared from Figma. I’m pretty sure they weren’t deleted, they’re not in Drafts > Deleted. I tried looking into member activities, but also don’t see any references to these files anymore. Previously shared links to these files no longer work. Any help in recovering these files will be greatly appreciated.

What would be the best workflow to use interactive polls in a live presentation? Giving a presentation to an audience of several people, I like to receive live feedback. Now it seems the presentation link need to be shared with the audience, a user needs to create a Figma account in order to interact and needs to manually scroll through the presentation on hers/his device to find the correct slide. The concept seems nice, but is not as seamless as it should be. If there would be an integrated solution like Mentimeter or Slido, it would be a real benefit.

I have several larger component cards I created and now I need to add a new field to it that is also a component itself but every time I try to add the new component frame to the existing component frame it will not allow me to do so. I even try to drop it in using the layers panel and that doesn’t work. I want to keep the new smaller component separate because I want to add this field to several different larger component cards so that I can update just the small component and it updates across multiple component cards. Is this possible?

For some reason, the text function in both Design and FigJam suddenly stopped working. I can’t seem to edit and write any text nor even change the font styles. Please Help! It’s interrupting my workflow

After the updates, switching colors for me is a pain, as now it does not keep “All Libraries” as a default view anymore, every time I switch a color I have to select → choose a library or local or All libraries… It is such a pain. What is going on? Is there a way to keep All libraries open at all times? I would assume it should remember the last selection, but no, it’s based on the color that was on it in the first place. Tbh, such a change in UX should really be considered better, I wonder which genius thought it was a better idea to limit user’s view to only 1 library by default… 🫠

I created a top nav (frame) and am using it as a component since there are onHover dropdowns. I now need to add an overlay for another frame(search). However for some reason this doesnt seem to be working on any of the pages. First i thought it was a “component cannot open another component as an overlay” issue but no this is just not working? I cannot figure anything and am at my wits end. attached an image should show you what im talking about (Last one shows the clicks available)

We’ve made a component for the thumbnail, but it seems that I can’t set it directly as a thumbnail. I need to place inside a group. See: Is there another way?

I’m currently facing an issue with our team access. It appears that our team has been locked because we’ve reached the limits of our current Starter Plan, after the recent subscription plan changes. As a result, I am unable to make any further changes. Could anyone please provide more details on this and guide me on how we can resolve the issue or upgrade to an appropriate plan? Your assistance in addressing this matter at the earliest would be greatly appreciated.

On my request, Figma Admin in my org recently transferred a linked Designs System (6 libraries) to different organisation. With the transfer were 150+ other Design Files. I now have no access. The other org must now link these Design Files to the completed DS. The libraries that these 150+ Design Files were connected to, during the transfer, have lost their names. The process has defaulted them to ‘missing library’. Is there a method to retrieve these library file names, so they can be re-connect to the new completed DS that has been transferred?

Hello, As the title suggests I have x3 nodes in my library file, they are different styles for multiple brands. Library file is published and up to date. Selecting all the designs and making a node override works. However but when i try at a page level i get the following error. Also “DirectLineNEW” & “PriviledgeNEW” no longer exist in the library file and i can’t seem to remove them from the list. Any help would be greatly appreciated as it’s driving me loopy. Thanks

Created a prototype with desktop dimensions (1377 x 768 px). When the prototype link is viewed on mobile phones, the prototype dimensions are suddenly stretched to the full height of the mobile screen it is being viewed on. This bug applies across mobile browsers and the Figma app. In contrast, no such issue exists when the prototype is viewed on a desktop, even when the desktop browser is resized to resemble mobile proportions. The only workaround I could find at present is to crop the frame/artboard to match the intended prototype resolution.

I have an issue with creating a component, especially since I am new to Figma. I have a component with three variances and have prototyped them to switch in between each other with a click. When I create a copy/instance of the component, I am looking to switch the pictures to make the instances unique. However, when I click presentation, it seems only the first image changes and not the other variances. If you could help me with my issue, it would mean a ton to me. I’ve looked through the forums and can’t find any solutions to my situation and thought I’d try my luck here.

I used to be able to quickly alt+drag elements outside of frames/groups/component sets, but that’s no longer possible since a few weeks ago. Even I ctrl+C and ctrl+V far away from the frame on the canvas, with the frame deselected, the pasted element still appears within the frame it’s originating from. Sometimes I need to export as files objects in a component set. Due to what seems like another bug (each time I try to export from a component set a selection of items it will only export one single item). When I try to alt+drag elements out of it or copy paste them away, they will appear in that frame still. So I have to drag them out of it manually. This also creates significant problems when all I want to do is create an instance as it forcingly creates a new master, which then I need to pull out of the frame, make another copy of it that’s actually an instance, that I then need to Detach. Is there any fix for this. Maybe a setting that’s on by default. I’m on W11, I have yet to rece

Hello everyone, I need help! I used the new UI (in beta), and I really liked it, but after I used the shortcut for “minimize UI”, the navigation panel began to look different, please help me, how do I get back to the previous appearance? below I will attach a screenshot of how it looks now

My file has “used variables” which no longer exist lingering around somewhere. No idea what assets could possibly still have these old/deleted variables still connected to them. I have tried the detach deleted variables command already but no luck. Is there any way to locate where these variables are being used without going through each layer one by one? Is this just a bug?

Hi, in the last day or two I’ve noticed that some of my images have disappeared from my designs. All images are PNGs and when i try to reupload them I get the “Invalid image or thumbnail is removed” message. Now I would be OK with this if it happened to every PNG as then it may be a location issue but some of the same PNGs are showing in other frames? There doesn’t seem to any logic to it, some of them are showing, some of them are not and it wont let me reupload the PNG?! Any ideas?

I’m filling individual parts of the vector with different colors depending on the mode. When I switch to dark mode, the outer border of the vector continues to show the color of light mode. Do you know if I implemented this wrong?

After organizing my icon components I noticed some of the categories had duplications and I’m not sure why or how to delete them (pictured below with beginning of duplication selected). The only difference that I can see between the repeated components is that one has clip content selected and the other does not. Has anyone else run into this problem or know how to fix it?

Hi ! in the counterAxisSpacing property, documented here :figma.com I see no reference to auto, which is something that can be set in Figma and has an effect similar to justify-content: space-between in css/flex Am i missing something, or is it not implemented in the API? Thanks
