Hi there community! I searched for this stuff, but found only an old thread with no resolution. I need to show a large table for an enterprise ui. It needs to have fixed top row and fixed first column something like freeze panes in excel. So first column needs to scroll vertically with the content, and not scroll horizontally, but stay in front instead, while the top row needs to scroll horizontally along with the content, but not scroll vertically, just stay on top instead. [All] But it lacks vertical scrolling, so it’s only half the solution.

I have a component with a lot of variants, issue is that the order of variants does not match the order on the component. I know you can arrange the order of variantions on component with drag and drop, which I did, but it appears in wrong order on the instance’s dropdown.

Hello, I am new to FIGMA, I am looking for a way to send an event from the FIGMA prototype to the parent window which renders the FIGMA prototype when a user clicks on a particular button(Submit/Done/Complete) from the last screen/design on the FIGMA prototype. Is this possible? if yes, Please do let me know the steps for implementing it

(newbie in Figma): I mean… It should be that way… The text should stay in the Auto layout container… “I´ve tried everything” which is or I guess is a lie, otherwise it would work without overlapping, right? The text goes beyond the Auto Layout Frame… But this should not work like that🫠 Is this just a bug? How can I fix this?

Hi together we are facing a strange behaviour regarding the Figma API Endpoint /v1/images We are fetching some images but sometimes it happens that we get an API response with an empty data field, but no additional error like “to many request” or similar. Is there any know issue or limitation?

Hey everyone! I’m working on a design system and encountered an issue with preferred instances. For example, I have a list row component that contains left and right side content. For each side, I’ve created and linked some child components, using an underscore (_) symbol for naming. After publishing my library and inserting the component in another file, I’m unable to find the preferred instances. The dropdown opens and shows the entire list by default, but navigating through the folders doesn’t display anything specific. My goal is to make only the main components visible in the ‘Assets’ panel, not their individual parts. I assumed that if these “child” parts are hidden when publishing but set as preferred instances, they would still appear in the component property swaps. Is this approach incorrect?

I use Figma to design multiple applications and products, and sometimes I need to replicate the same frames or pages across different files. My idea is to add a feature that allows linking frames across files. This way, when I make edits to a specific frame in one file, the changes automatically reflect in a corresponding frame in another file. Additionally, I think it would be very helpful to have update options, so I can choose whether updates happen automatically or if I need to confirm (approve) them first. An extra option for manual sync could also be beneficial, allowing me to select when to sync the frames, especially when I’m making large adjustments to a project and prefer not to update linked frames immediately." Hello, so in my frame the news and the home buttons are in a fixed position. I want the cards to not overflow the fixed position when scrolling vertically, but when i scroll they appear in top of them how do i fix it

I have a manually placed overlay with a button. Upon click of that button, I want to open a centered overlay and close the original overlay. I can’t figure out how to do this. Currently I’m able to open a new overlay from that button, but the old overlay stays open beneath it.

Hi everyone, Has anyone worked on creating a video progress bar that shows image previews as you drag the slider, similar to the feature in Netflix or YouTube? I’m looking for guidance or tutorials on how to build an interactive progress bar that updates with an image preview based on the video’s timestamp. I received an email a week ago that my education plan will expire in four weeks. I am currently working in education as a research assistant at a university program where we provide engineering education resources (teaching activities, workshops, class materials). I graduated in June 2024, but this position is ongoing for the next year. I would like to verify my status in education. However, on the application page, I don’t think I can provide a course syllabus or URL because I am working on engineering education resources, rather than teaching a particular course. What are my options to verifying my status?

‘save local copy’ stuck at ‘Downloading images and saving…’ I have a design of just 11 frames. no prototyping, no effects, just design/layout. but as the title says, it’s stuck just like that. I really need a local copy and I’ve been trying for more than 2 weeks now. I’ve successfully saved local copies of other designs before, some of which had more frames than this one. I’ve also tried cleaning up the design, removing hidden layers, flattening some of the gifts to a bare minimum. I also tried moving the frames to a brand new file/document. still no luck. also, there’s no plugin required for this file. again, purely just texts/images/frames, etc. and like 1 or 2 components. I use the figma desktop app mostly on my Windows 10. latest updates. but I also tried saving using Figma in browser. In a previous version of Figma, I was able to see all of my components under the Assets at once. Now if there is nesting, I have to click a lot to see them which is super annoying. Is there a fix for this?

Hi Team! I have encountered a weird issue I had never had before. I have created a pdf in Figma, where used frames with clipping content for some headshots. Exported pdf looks fine, but printed version reveals the clipped content. Do you know what that could be? This is a screenshot from exported PDF This is how it was printed. Thanks heaps!

I was using DM Sans on a layout on the past few days and it seemed to be going fine till then, but while working with the same layout today, i noticed that the font spacing has changed. Notice the comparison between the font on my layout and the layout in the Google Fonts website. As of right now i’m having to manually adjust the font spacing to -2%. Anyone who knows what’s happening?

Hello, Despite the fact that i’m totally lost in the new UI, I’m feeling very incumfortable with the text sise and the colors contrasts. I’ve searched, but I don’t see any option to change the contrast and text size. Does anyone knows if it’s possible ? and how? 😅 Thank you 🙂

Hi everyone 👋 I made a 1658x658 GIF and it looks great when played, but when I import it into Figma, an outline appears, you can see that when the prototype is played. I have a Form Field component, and inside it I have a Label, Input, and Helper text components. The Input component can be swapped with Text Area and Select components, all these three components have a nested instance of the Content component inside it which holds text and icon as a component property. When using this Form Field component instance it behaves normally as long as I don’t swap the Input instance. If I swap the Input instance to a Select and then swap between variables of the Form Field components (a Disabled state, for example). The Select instance will be kept, but the Content instance inside of it will be reset. I’m using a light grey background in my Figma file and I can’t read the artboard titles because they are white. How do I change them to a darker color?

So I made a project on Figma using my student email in June 2023. After that i graduated from the college and they deleted my student email around November 2023. Now I want to access that project file but unable to. I did give view access to one of my friend’s personal email. Now she is able to view it, but cant do anything. One thing is confirmed that the project still exists, but now I cant access it. What to do… I really need that project now!

I do have still the same issue, regardless which network i am connected. any ideas here???

Figma changed all of the text in a mockup to italics. How can I revert, undo, or otherwise fix this without having to recreate literally hundreds of software screen designs?
